Pretty sure AJ is an 8 million dollar cap hit post June 1, and I don't know the exact cap numbers on Greenard.

Maybe Budda is too expensive in terms of money and trade compensation. But Reid, Delpit should be more manageable. Unsure what it would take for Bates and his contract isn't cheap.

I think our WR room is plenty deep as is. I'd be out on Boutte because it's definitely going to lessen the picks back like you had mentioned. We're already down a 3 & 5 for next year.

Smith, Lemon, Wicks, Hollywood, Cooper is good enough. Wilson will be here for camp. They'll be some others thrown in camp as well, maybe some UDFA's. If we didn't sign Hollywood I'd be more onboard for Boutte.

Woodson makes a lot of sense especially considering the contract status. I would like all 4 of the names mentioned much more over him but the contract would be a big asset for us considering our financial situation going forward. And he was a rook last year, I'd assume he does get better.

I just hope we get a 2027 first for AJ and not a 2028, that would be disappointing for me.

No. They save $7M trading AJ Brown

Here's a question for everyone....

We know Wicks was generally added to be a placeholder in this offense (the guy sucks so I certainly hope so), as was Hollywood Brown (may be my type of WR with the speed, but he generally underwhelms too and has been a disappointment).

If we are thinking of the future pass catchers in this offense as Smith, Lemon, and Stowers....do we really need to pigeon hole and congest the lineup as Smith (Z), Wicks (X), Lemon (slot), Stowers (TE)?? You really want your TE to be the fastest pass catcher on the team?

Long-term, prototypical X wrs are expensive. Short term, Wicks sucks. Despite his frame, Devonta Smith is one of the most complete receivers in the NFL who is facile with every twig of a redwood sized route tree. I'd like to see him line up there occasionally with Stowers occasionally doing the same when a larger body is called upon...and use Hollywood Brown as the Z (and upgrade him with a similar WR when the time comes).

I think that gives you a far more dangerous and dynamic foundation of pass catchers. Smith has no trouble beating press coverage with mechanics and quickness. He's probably more of a weapon migrating between X and Z (and the slot) and Stowers is probably more of a weapon migrating between slot/X/in-line. My all time favorite pick Lemon handles the slot, and then it's easier to just find a Hollywood replacement in a year.

I think that decongests the offense. Lemon/Smith/Wicks and a couple TE's could have us seeing shades of 2018-2020.

The key to everything you mention there is the offense now has a full tool kit to work with and alot of options for good creative coaching. Not limited to provincial thinking in offensive concepts only to cater to a 1 trick pony in AJ Brown and Devanta playing 2nd fiddle in most games. And Goedert only a factor in the Red Zone. There is just more talent and the play as a group will go up. By 2nd half of season and playoff time they should be pretty cohesive. Could be a similar turnaround that Fangio had with the defense in 2024 in just one season as DC.

Ive also been wondering if we couldnt just announce the AJ deal already and say itll be official on June 1st.

That way, we finally get that whole story over and done with and out of the news cycle. Moving in to camps, the story will already be behind the team.

But it would be nice to revisit discussions with some other teams after the draft.

The Ravens drafted 2 crappy WRs. They obviously wanted to address the position. Are they happy with it after the draft?

Buffalo has a terrible WR corps and only got Skyler Bell.

Is Houston interested in a swap for Nico Collins?

Is Jackson interested in a swap for Brian Thomas?

Would Andy like a WR for Mahomes? Probably not.

Are the Rams going to be interested again after the draft? They are not going to re-sign Adams after this year and only drafted CJ Daniels.

Would the Raiders like a single WR?

The Dolphins are not happy with their WR room. They drafted 3. And Waddle was in trade rumors. Would they love Chris Bell to learn from AJ Brown? Waddle is a great fit here now.

Would Pittsburgh like a WR? They wanted Lemon. Ended up with Germie Bernard and Wetjen. Brown would clearly upgrade that room.

They aren’t going to announce something and admit they are circumventing the league rules

Getting that 2027 first for AJ will be one of Roseman's best trades. They are going to have one of the worst seasons from hell. We will end up with a top 10, potentially top 5 pick.

None of you will believe me, but I really, really do want Lemon to be a success.

I just feel like I'm seeing the same movie playing as when JJAW was drafted (and a million other Eagle WR draft busts, but specifically JJAW). Back then, Michael Thomas was all the rage. JJAW (also very productive in Oregons legacy conference) was relentlessly compared to Michael Thomas, mostly on the grounds of a shared lack of explosion. I feel Lemon is JSN and Aman-Ra's JJAW. Granted, it would be tough to tank as hard as JJAW did, but there are many levels of disappointment. Just feels like hopping on a trendy prototype and going for the imitation. That's not normally Howie's style and it's not how he does it when he is successful.

Calling Lemon’s archetype a trend is wild. Outside of physical freaks and specialists the blue print for a WR is:

Great route runner

Glue for hands

Grey matter to put the above together

5’11 - 6’2

Above average athletic traits. Focus on short area speed, agility and footwork.

If dude was 2 inches taller we comp him to Adams and Hopkins.

I'm not even the biggest Lemon fan, but he's nothing like JJAW. Boston is the WR in this class who's like JJAW. JJAW had no fluidity, no crispness to his routes. Lemon may not be a burner, he's 4.47-4.50 but he's a great route runner and he's smooth and he's good at getting open.

I don't think you can replace AJ Brown by committee and if I had to bet one way or the other I think the Eagles offense is probably gonna suck next season. But the thing is I'd also probably bet it with AJ Brown on the roster too because I just don't trust the QB, the health of the OL, or the ability for everyone to transition to a brand new offense in one offseason.

And Brown would be gone next offseason anyway. So if you can get a 1st and a 3rd for him and then rebuild the pass catchers as we turn the page for the next phase of Eagles offensive football going forward, I'm cool with that. And we still don't know how much in the tank Brown has left. I think more than some posters here have been saying. Some here act like the dude is becoming washed. I think 2025 had more to do with everyone on offense just sucking together. But McLane and some national writers have been saying there are concerns Brown is on the way down from that truly elite top 5 WR level and he'll never get back to that. We'll see.

If nothing else assuming the trade goes through they'll have some new pass catchers that is something new to look forward to. And if worst comes to worst they'll have the draft capital to move around next year in the draft. Whether it's for QB, WR, OT, whatever.

I didn't realize we got two African freak athletes. Chances are low that either pan out but I was always high on Malaita eventually panning out. It'll be fun to track their development and if even one pans out that would be incredible.

When is rookie camp?

I am not assuming a 2027 1st rounder for AJ. But, if he does somehow get that from the Patriots, he is executive of the year.

Saw it last night in the frenzy of UDFA tweets but I guess it's possible either side could have changed their mind.

Trades are announced before they can actually happen often. Like before free agency which is technically long after the trade deadline but before the new league year.

What's different about this?

Learned that Jambo is Swahili for hello. I don’t think the Eagles retained the IPP from last year. Weru potentially takes that spot.

Devanta or Goedert didn't slip off and played up to par. Too convenient to say they all sucked together. This offense can only go up this year. That was putrid all the way around last year. People will be surprised how we don't miss AJ next year.

So, the blog, and someone else had other LS ranked higher than Underwood. I saw last night he was the 4th ranked LS. But, the long snapper for the only drafted kicker, Trey Smack is a very nice notch in his belt.

BS 💩Howie. Dalton is here for insurance at not getting a developmental QB to ultimately replace McKee. If Payton shows more promise than the kid last year did, they will trade either McKee or Dalton, depending on value offered but most likely Dalton or cutting Dalton. More likely they carry 11 OL than 4 QBs.

I wouldn't count on it. They are going to miss him. Probably a lot.

You have a QB and head coach who aren't very good and can look really good (at times) when the talent around them is amazing. As it starts to get stripped away, you see their flaws more and more as we saw in 2023 and 2025 when they lost a lot in each offseason. And honestly with Hurts we saw it in 2024 as well. Hurts hasn't been good for 3 seasons now, people just forget that because he finished 2024 with two great performances. Credit to him for doing it, but his 2024 on the whole was not impressive.

Maybe it'll look marginally better next season due to better scheming and the OL looking healthier, but we have no idea if Mannion is good at his job. He has the scheme everyone wants, ok cool. How is he as a coach and offensive mind? We have no idea. How healthy is the OL? No idea. But Dickerson and Jurgens going to Medellin to get stem cell treatments isn't great. They wouldn't be doing that if they felt healthy.

Add in Brown potentially going and now all of a sudden defenses can more scheme to shut down Devonta with less of a threat on the other side and 2026 could be a rough season for the offense. If it happens I can't wait to hear the excuses though because the Brown haters also seem to be Hurts stans. So that's going to be an interesting dilemma they are going to be presented with. Not willing to admit Brown being gone played a part in it, but also not wanting to blame Hurts for it. Anyway, if it comes to that, I'm in for the theater of it all. 🍿

Listening to PHLY and EJ Smith being so down on Stowers pick makes me more confident than anything else that it was a good pick.

Mante Morrow, WR, Upper Iowa | 2026 NFL Draft Prospect Zoom Interview

Mante Morrow firmly established himself as one of the nation’s top small-school wide receivers during a dominant 2025 season at Upper Iowa. He earned First Team All-GLVC honors after surpassing 1,000 receiving yards and scoring 12 touchdowns. Morrow’s breakout performance against South Dakota Mines—216 yards and four touchdowns—earned him Offensive Player of the Week honors and highlighted his ability to take over games. He was also named one of just 36 national nominees for the Harlon Hill Trophy and received Elite 100 recognition, highlighting him as one of the premier athletes at the Division II level.

Morrow’s combination of size, athleticism, and competitiveness sets him apart. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound receiver has a massive catch radius with 33 1/8-inch arms and an 80 1/2-inch wingspan, allowing him to consistently win contested catches and create matchup problems. He explodes off the line, separates cleanly from defenders, and excels on both intermediate and vertical routes, while also showing creativity and physicality as a runner to maximize yards after the catch. As a team-first player, Morrow also brings grit and effectiveness as an above-average blocker. With elite traits paired with high-level production, he stands out as one of the most complete and dangerous small-school wide receivers this season.

Trades are announced before they can happen but there’s no salary cap effects in those situations. It’s just all trades aren’t allowed but as soon as they are, we are doing it. This would be purposely announcing a trade but declaring you are waiting to avoid cap penalties.

I don’t think there is a written rule saying you can’t but you also probably don’t want to take the risk of looking like you are circumventing the cap rules.

He won the best long snapper award in 2024 - I suspect that velocity and accuracy isn’t too hard to scout these days.

Good summary from Tommy. Likes the UDFA class
