hmm...I feel like youre still using rules that are in place to be used. Not really a circumvent thing here.

That’s how I look at it… But we’re still not going to hear anything. If anything, Howie wants to wait until the last minute for any possible better deals that may be offered.

You know the film actually showed that Brown actually helped Smith right?

Yeah, while I have faith in Smith being the #1 he is going to have a harder job now with teams being able to focus just on him until the young guys come along. I don't think Brown is capable of humbling himself at this point and asking the Eagles to stay, but as a fan it's a real shame. They have so much talent. Smith will still get open, but defenses will zero in on him.

I wonder if AJ has changed his tune any since the Mannion hire and the moves the Birds have made that suggests a more aggressive passing game. I watched them draft Lemon and then Stowers and thought an aging WR might like them drawing more attention. That said, despite all his talk about wanting to be the top WR, this is about money. Brown has to know, for all intents and purposes, if he is going to see a new contract, it has to be now because the last two years of his deal aren’t ever happening.

Like I just said to Mike what a shame he can't stay for just one more year. They are good enough to win without him, but with him and the young guys developing as the season goes on....that team on paper could be better than the last SB team. Yeah, depth on the OL and safety, but Howie isn't done and they are stacked. A MB type vet at guard would lock that down and another FA safety or trade and damn.

Pretty silly IMO.

Logic doesn’t hold up when AJ isn’t there.

Acho is also 🤡 So there that.

I don’t think the league would frown about it all that much to be honest. They’re not exactly circumventing any rules, they would just be announcing that they’re going to wait for a better cap position per the actual rules.

I don’t know if they would or wouldn’t but there’s just no reason to risk it. I think the reporting from Schefter and his specific wording is for a reason. Like @BigEFly alluded to, there’s also a reason you can’t designate trades as Post June 1st and that is essentially what the Eagles would be doing. Until that’s changed I don’t think you are going to see any team test those limits.

Also, if anything, I’d say AJ wants out even more now than before. He wasn’t happy with his role in the offense and all they have done with their moves since is create an offense with even more options than before. He’d still be WR1 but there would be a lot more mouths to feed below him than when it was just Dotson, Cooper and Calcaterra.

Yep. 6ers would somehow be involved in an embarrassing storyline. That checks out.

Goalposts Moving GIF

Devanta and Hurts spread their wings next year. Clear as day. Reminds me of when Embiid played without Simmons. The dude took the mantle and was determined more than ever to succeed. See the same here with Hurts. No drama will be helpful to his game and freedom to be THE LEADER! The 2 Alphas were butting heads.

That has to be fake. I read he was a video game designer with a degree in mechanical engineering. WTH would he be doing with the 76ers?

Where did I move the goal posts? Show me film where the offense was worse because AJ wasn’t on the field. Not some nonsense from Acho that has nothing to do with what I said. Yes teams shade towards the number 1. What a revelation. They’ll do the same thing to Devonta (Who actually got separation last year)

AJ was blanketed most of the season but single coverage and was complete by when it mattered.

Me: AJ helped Smith

You: show me the film

Me: *provides film*

You: show me where the offense was worse because AJ wasn't on the field

He is from California I think? But it does say former so I dont know. Could have been in Philly previously. Likely fake though. Its probably fake news fishing for Josh Harris/Epstein comments like the one I made in the 6ers thread.

Where did he help in that video? It would have been the same video with Devonta. You look at production with and without him. Thats how you determine. In 2025 the offense wasn’t worse without AJ. Shading coverage means nothing unless you look at it without him too. They will do he same to Devonta. Cherry picked videos from a known clown wasn’t what I was expecting. We will see next year I guess man.

2022 AJ Brown was getting doubled all the time.

Not true in 2025.

The offense HAS to be better. It was terrible last year. The chances of the offense being worse are slim. AJ or not.

The offense will be better, as long as Hurts buys into it and masters it. The days of "the offense is gonna look how Hurts wants it to look and he’s gonna win” are gone, and hopefully Nick/Howie have told him so. He has to grow and adapt just like everyone else.

I do think it will benefit him not having to feed a certain player just to keep him happy.

We traded our 3rd for Grenard but should be getting a comp back

I suspect, since the Eagles initially indicated it was a fourth if the deal with the Vikings isn’t characterized as the lesser third.

The narrative about Makai Lemon being "slow" are not true. I think the concerns about his size are fair. And I think it's fair to wonder if he'll ever be a guy who is getting a lot of targets down field vertically, but that's not necessarily because he's slow. I think the size has just as much to with his size as anything, but also that he's so smooth and shifty they'd want to use him in the middle of the field. Use your players to their strengths. But I don't know how you could watch this and say he's slow(starting at 1:35)

Yeah, I’m only saying that I don’t think the league would care that much. I just don’t think any team would announce a post June 1st trade early because there’s really no benefit to do so… other than appeasing the fans that can’t wait for the news.

*the lack of down field targets has just as much to with his size as anything

since we still can't edit posts with media in them for some reason.

Glad I'm not the only one who laughed out loud at the irony of using a complete and total hot take artists moron like Acho as "proof" for anything. Seriously brah, tell me your'e a dummy without telling me.

I didn't cherry pick anything. You asked for the video and I provided it

a man with his eyes closed and the words oh that was different on the bottom

Like I said you're moving goalposts

Some of you should be honest with your bias of AJ

I'm able to say he did take plays off and not give his all in some games. Also can say he made a huge impact in our offense

Was wondering that myself, although I think it would have to be listed on the league site as a conditional 3.
