Trades are announced before they can actually happen often. Like before free agency which is technically long after the trade deadline but before the new league year.

What's different about this?

Yeah. Alex Smith’s trade from KC to Washington was announced well before the league year started.

Ive also been wondering if we couldnt just announce the AJ deal already and say itll be official on June 1st.

That way, we finally get that whole story over and done with and out of the news cycle. Moving in to camps, the story will already be behind the team.

But it would be nice to revisit discussions with some other teams after the draft.

The Ravens drafted 2 crappy WRs. They obviously wanted to address the position. Are they happy with it after the draft?

Buffalo has a terrible WR corps and only got Skyler Bell.

Is Houston interested in a swap for Nico Collins?

Is Jackson interested in a swap for Brian Thomas?

Would Andy like a WR for Mahomes? Probably not.

Are the Rams going to be interested again after the draft? They are not going to re-sign Adams after this year and only drafted CJ Daniels.

Would the Raiders like a single WR?

The Dolphins are not happy with their WR room. They drafted 3. And Waddle was in trade rumors. Would they love Chris Bell to learn from AJ Brown? Waddle is a great fit here now.

Would Pittsburgh like a WR? They wanted Lemon. Ended up with Germie Bernard and Wetjen. Brown would clearly upgrade that room.

The Ravens and Bills, I just don't get them with their constant failure at WR. If they loaded up they might've won one by now.

Baltimore had Lemon right there, they should've done that. Or even Sadiq, Andrews can't last forever and they lost Likely.

They did get a bull dozer at guard and I understand the trenches but they just fail so much at WR and you had one fall right to you.

They had a slew of picks, they could've went guard on day 2 and even move up to secure one if needed.

I don't mind Sarrat where they got him to be a part of that room, but they still need a #1 type player. Lemon would've been great for them.

So reporter speculation?

Probably a mix of that and what people are hearing via back chatter.

Mante Morrow, WR, Upper Iowa | 2026 NFL Draft Prospect Zoom Interview

Mante Morrow firmly established himself as one of the nation’s top small-school wide receivers during a dominant 2025 season at Upper Iowa. He earned First Team All-GLVC honors after surpassing 1,000 receiving yards and scoring 12 touchdowns. Morrow’s breakout performance against South Dakota Mines—216 yards and four touchdowns—earned him Offensive Player of the Week honors and highlighted his ability to take over games. He was also named one of just 36 national nominees for the Harlon Hill Trophy and received Elite 100 recognition, highlighting him as one of the premier athletes at the Division II level.

Morrow’s combination of size, athleticism, and competitiveness sets him apart. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound receiver has a massive catch radius with 33 1/8-inch arms and an 80 1/2-inch wingspan, allowing him to consistently win contested catches and create matchup problems. He explodes off the line, separates cleanly from defenders, and excels on both intermediate and vertical routes, while also showing creativity and physicality as a runner to maximize yards after the catch. As a team-first player, Morrow also brings grit and effectiveness as an above-average blocker. With elite traits paired with high-level production, he stands out as one of the most complete and dangerous small-school wide receivers this season.

I think @LeanMeanGM nailed it.

That stuff happens all the time. So just like if a trade is announced a month before free agency, why couldnt a trade be announced a month before June 1st?

Trades are announced before they can happen but there’s no salary cap effects in those situations. It’s just all trades aren’t allowed but as soon as they are, we are doing it. This would be purposely announcing a trade but declaring you are waiting to avoid cap penalties.

I don’t think there is a written rule saying you can’t but you also probably don’t want to take the risk of looking like you are circumventing the cap rules.

hmm...I feel like youre still using rules that are in place to be used. Not really a circumvent thing here.

Watched Cole Payton highlights and saw a million catches by Trey Lance's brother. Seems like a good WR rspoect

That may be the greatest typo I’ve ever seen.

We need it for our new rookie QB to replace Hurts.

Hurts wont be parking ways with the Eagles until his mid-30s.

These are rugby highlights of Weru but I know RTK is just going Max Pulley over the background in this thumbnail image.

Good summary from Tommy. Likes the UDFA class

I really just liked Roberts and Wright. Thought Large might get a chance at punt returns. But Tommy gives me a little hope for Pulley and even Gushiken.

Listening to PHLY and EJ Smith being so down on Stowers pick makes me more confident than anything else that it was a good pick.

I doubt that company will last until the next draft

Devanta will get his. An elite route runner and will grow his rapport even more with Jalen. The ball will be spread around and everyone will complement one another with this new depth we have. Offensive line will be solid in pass blocking. I actually think AJ will miss Devanta more than vice versa. The real theater is when the Diva doesn't get his way in New England and what happens there, as they probably force feed him and start getting turnovers doing that. 🍿

There are several bubble players on the 90-man that will be released at the end of camp. If there aren't number switches this week, look for some then.

They aren't completely overhauling the offense and realistically competing for a SB in the same year. If you actually think they might win a SB next year, safety and kicker are the least of the concerns.

You just continue to up your game and make a strong push to overtake @Sack that QB as THE worst poster on the board. Congrats. Maybe with some real dedication, hard work, and sacrifice you can become the best of the worst.

Imagine how much further to the right they'd be if not for the first round pick.

Imagine how dumb you are going to look in 2-3 years when Makai Lemon is one of the best slot receivers in the NFL after spending the entire draft weekend obsessively whining about the pick.

What about one of the killer whale boat/submarine things? Two seater and cheaper. I got the thumbs up but we aren't sure it's legal on the reservoirs here 🤣

I’ll admit it’s a gray area. I just don’t think the risk of announcing it now is worth the reward. The reward is basically nothing, just appeasing the fan base. The risk is maybe getting attention of the league office and the possibility of them getting involved. It’s just another month but the actions of both teams show it’s a done deal. So they both should just play their parts and pretend like the deal came together on June 1st. Just like teams pretend deals were agreed to 5 minutes into the legal tampering.

I don’t think it’s illegal like tampering but it’s also not binding so there’s always a chance someone backs out. They don’t do that typically but what happens if Vrabel gets fired. Again unlikely but it’s a weird situation

I'm going to be a broken record on this one but oh well. Retiring numbers is an outdated stupid tradition at this point, but unofficially retiring numbers is FAR worse. With expanded rosters and practice squads, players that get added late in the off-season or during the season pretty much just have to take some crap number without any choices. Mann also needs to give up 10 and just take a random number, he's a punter. There isn't a single number available from 1-19 for Cole Payton who has to have a number from 1-19.

I would imagine Lemon and Stowers will just take numbers "for now" and end up switching after roster cut downs like Quinyon did his rookie year. Either way I will throw in some guesses with what's left for them and Greenard.

Lemon - 21 (wore 24 as a freshman)

Stowers - 37, 38, 46, or 47 because that's what is left

Greenard - 50 or 57 (wore 52 with Houston, 58 with the Vikings) but maybe JTS gives up 52 for him

For Lemon and Stowers I would keep an eye on the following numbers for them to switch to after cut downs:

Stowers - 7 (Kelee Ringo), 19 (Elijah Moore), 89 (Johnny Wilson) 87 (Stone Smart)

Lemon - 7 (Kelee Ringo), 16 (If McKee is traded), 18 (Britian Covey) 19 (Elijah Moore)

80, 82, 85, could also become available but I doubt Cooper is cut and 82 and 85 are kind of lame

There is also 11 but I'm not sure anyone has the balls to take that number right away.
