What about one of the killer whale boat/submarine things? Two seater and cheaper. I got the thumbs up but we aren't sure it's legal on the reservoirs here 🤣

You’ll never see me in a sub or scuba gear. (The latter because I might be mistaken for a whale.)

Unless you’ve gone all Marlon Brando since last I saw you I really doubt that.

Devanta will get his. An elite route runner and will grow his rapport even more with Jalen. The ball will be spread around and everyone will complement one another with this new depth we have. Offensive line will be solid in pass blocking. I actually think AJ will miss Devanta more than vice versa. The real theater is when the Diva doesn't get his way in New England and what happens there, as they probably force feed him and start getting turnovers doing that. 🍿

You know the film actually showed that Brown actually helped Smith right?

I’ll admit it’s a gray area. I just don’t think the risk of announcing it now is worth the reward. The reward is basically nothing, just appeasing the fan base. The risk is maybe getting attention of the league office and the possibility of them getting involved. It’s just another month but the actions of both teams show it’s a done deal. So they both should just play their parts and pretend like the deal came together on June 1st. Just like teams pretend deals were agreed to 5 minutes into the legal tampering.

Given that trades cannot be designated post June 1 like two cuts can, the "legal” argument from a contract interpretation basis would likely point out that since cuts are specifically identified, the presumption is that by omission trades are not to be designated post June 1. I agree with not risking it. The league should allow in the next contract for the two designations to include either cuts or trades.

Well, in my old I am closer to front seven size than safety.

I wonder if AJ has changed his tune any since the Mannion hire and the moves the Birds have made that suggests a more aggressive passing game. I watched them draft Lemon and then Stowers and thought an aging WR might like them drawing more attention. That said, despite all his talk about wanting to be the top WR, this is about money. Brown has to know, for all intents and purposes, if he is going to see a new contract, it has to be now because the last two years of his deal aren’t ever happening.

Hurts wont be parking ways with the Eagles until his mid-30s.

He will be key in keeping the bench warm for our new franchise QB then for many years

I'm going to be a broken record on this one but oh well. Retiring numbers is an outdated stupid tradition at this point, but unofficially retiring numbers is FAR worse. With expanded rosters and practice squads, players that get added late in the off-season or during the season pretty much just have to take some crap number without any choices. Mann also needs to give up 10 and just take a random number, he's a punter. There isn't a single number available from 1-19 for Cole Payton who has to have a number from 1-19.

I would imagine Lemon and Stowers will just take numbers "for now" and end up switching after roster cut downs like Quinyon did his rookie year. Either way I will throw in some guesses with what's left for them and Greenard.

Lemon - 21 (wore 24 as a freshman)

Stowers - 37, 38, 46, or 47 because that's what is left

Greenard - 50 or 57 (wore 52 with Houston, 58 with the Vikings) but maybe JTS gives up 52 for him

For Lemon and Stowers I would keep an eye on the following numbers for them to switch to after cut downs:

Stowers - 7 (Kelee Ringo), 19 (Elijah Moore), 89 (Johnny Wilson) 87 (Stone Smart)

Lemon - 7 (Kelee Ringo), 16 (If McKee is traded), 18 (Britian Covey) 19 (Elijah Moore)

80, 82, 85, could also become available but I doubt Cooper is cut and 82 and 85 are kind of lame

There is also 11 but I'm not sure anyone has the balls to take that number right away.

Payton should take 11.

The trade is clearly done.

Devanta does not need AJ. Is a #1 in his own right and clutch AF. Will have a solid supporting cast now. Teams will pay if they overplay Smith with Hollywood, Wicks, Lemon, Goedert and Stowers. Pick your poison.

Here are some stats.

In his last 15 games without Brown, Smith has recorded 994 receiving yards. He averages approximately 6.2 catches for 87.8 yards per game in recent games without Brown, often seeing a massive 39% target rate on routes run when Brown is off the field.

Key Stats Without A.J. Brown

  • Recent Production (Last 5 Games): 31 catches for 439 yards and 1 touchdown.

  • Long-term Trend: Across 21 career games without Brown, Smith has totaled 87 catches for 1,207 yards and 6 touchdowns.

  • Target Share: Smith has been targeted on 39% of his routes when Brown is off the field, compared to 20% when they play together.

  • Performance Impact: According to recent analysis, Smith has performed as a top-tier receiver when stepping into the primary role.

They have these seven picks and a comp sixth for Blankenship (Not including the comp third for Phillips earmarked for Minnesota.)

Adding a high pick for AJ would be a nice collection of draft capital to start with.

The cope is going to be incredible for some when the offense is better this year without AJ. That obviously won't be the only reason, but he became a net negative last season with his attitude, lack of effort, and the QB and coaches feeling like they had to cater to him so he wouldn't have hissy fits on the sideline or social media. It's no coincidence that the offense looked amazing in the second Giants game without him where Hurts was just throwing to the open guy and spreading the ball all over the field. To his credit Howie also did an amazing job of replacing him in the aggregate with Wicks, Lemon, Hollywood, and Stowers.

I'm guessing they a 1 in 2027 and 3 in 2028 or 1 in 2028 and 3 in 2027 for the diva. Either that or a 1 and a player like Craig Woodson.

We traded our 3rd for Grenard but should be getting a comp back

The offense HAS to be better. It was terrible last year. The chances of the offense being worse are slim. AJ or not.

Where is this film? Eagles best offensive game last yr was against the Giants when AJ didn’t play. Same Giants team that beat them with AJ. I understand it’s anecdotal but there’s plenty of evidence that Smitty doesn’t need AJ. Last year’s film is not kind to AJ if we are talking about game tape. Not at all.

Will he have a huge year in NE? Most likely. But his time here was done and last yr he was JAG when it mattered.

You just continue to up your game and make a strong push to overtake @Sack that QB as THE worst poster on the board. Congrats. Maybe with some real dedication, hard work, and sacrifice you can become the best of the worst.

Leading your worst poster rankings would be an honor. I will do my best.

The internet is an amazing thing, ain't it? Not a stats nerd, but the facts support my eyes.

Also, in Devanta's rookie year with a worst supporting cast (Reagor & JJaw LOL).

More stats below.

DeVonta Smith recorded 64 receptions for 916 yards and 5 touchdowns in 17 games, setting a new franchise record for receiving yards by a rookie. He started every game, leading the team in targets (104), receptions, and receiving yards.

Key 2021 Rookie Stats (Philadelphia Eagles):

Games Played: 17

Receptions: 64

Receiving Yards: 916

Touchdowns: 5

Average Yards per Reception: 14.3

Longest Reception: 46 yards

Trades are announced before they can happen but there’s no salary cap effects in those situations. It’s just all trades aren’t allowed but as soon as they are, we are doing it. This would be purposely announcing a trade but declaring you are waiting to avoid cap penalties.

I don’t think there is a written rule saying you can’t but you also probably don’t want to take the risk of looking like you are circumventing the cap rules.

I don’t think the league would frown about it all that much to be honest. They’re not exactly circumventing any rules, they would just be announcing that they’re going to wait for a better cap position per the actual rules.

That being said… We won’t hear any announcement until after June 1 anyway
