Also the sixers are putrid. How do we dump embiid and george??

Some hope we make George eligible for the expansion draft, however I question whether either expansion team would even claim him.

Id say we are stuck.

I guess you were on vacation in March or just have difficulty reading when I constantly criticized Howie for having a bad start to the off-season after having a bad off-season for it's entirety in 2025.

Talking about NYEagle, the poster that was quoted in that post

Hoped they would draft another edge, planning for Nolan Smith's departure.

Hopefully Ebiketie is better than we expect, and James-Newby. But this was an awesome edge class and we sat it out till the end of the draft.

Trading 98 and a 3rd for next year for Greenard at this draft, is an indirect addition from this draft class. I can't disagree though that there were a lot of really good edge rushers that went in round two of this draft. That might have actually been THE strength of the draft, second round edge rushers.

Curious what the plan is with Nolan Smith. Long term doesn’t look good as they just paid Davis and Greenard, still have to pay Carter and could pay Hunt after the season and maybe for a discount. His 5th year option is $13M so I assume they pick it up but it wouldn’t be a total surprise if they decline or trade him at some point in the next year.

I think Smith or Hunt will get signed. Unlikely both. And let’s face it, it’s unlikely both will emerge as 10 sack guys.

I said this a couple years ago, if you get rid of Embiid (which is fine and should’ve done it already to maximize his value; and now PG too) you are not winning a title with Maxey as your number one. Him and Vj is basically a different variation of what the blazers had with McCollum and lillard. They got to a WCF one year (believe the got destroyed that series) but really outside of that they were a low end playoff team that could win a series but really no title hopes. Only way you are winning a title or competing for one with Maxey and Vj is to get that alpha no. 1 to go with them. Not sure how they acquire that unless they just hit the jackpot picking in the 17-22 range every year.

I view it as either can spin their tires in the mud with Maxey and Vj being top 2 guys and being a fringe playoff team until Maxey inevitably asked to be dealt or can blow it up to cash out on what value you have and try to rebuild while keeping Vj in a rookie deal.

Yeah....

So, we have Greenard, Hunt, Smith, and Ebiketie as our top 4 rushers.

Lottery tickers in James-Newby, and Joe Tyron-Shoyinka.

I hope they dont do it from the start, but assume in the event of an injury, Graham is signed.

When Smith leaves, you are left with 3 edge rushers. One being Ebiketie. We dont even know if he will be any good. And, Greenard will be another year older. And heck... he may end up being like a 2 year contract.

Its a really shaky group honestly. It looks nice right now. We are one Greenard injury away from being very average like last year with no depth. And we are 1 season away from not knowing what the hell we even have there at all.

Wildcard in all of this is Campbell. Some wont agree, but its reasonable to question if they still plan to put weight on Campbell and make him an edge. The team showed significant interest in CJ Allen who was a borderline 1st round talent in this draft. The UDFA we signed was ranked pretty high by a number of draft media outlets. He probably has a decent shot at making the team but presumably will need to beat out Mondon for now. Campbell may be an option but that doesnt add any more clarity, more like adds to the uncertainty.

I’d think he’s right back in the game with big year this year. Hunt probably needs to hit another gear before lapping Nolan, unless Nolan gets injured yet again. Also $13M is nothing in this edge market.

Picking up the option is easy.

He may turn back into 2024 Smith, become to good to leave, and get an extension.

Or you could trade him in 10 months for 2027 picks.

Or you could have him play out his 5th year and get a comp pick in 2029.

2024 Smith also sucked pretty badly, EXCEPT for a few games in the post-season.

Without those couple of games he has never been anything but a bust.

Those few games have saved his reputation with a lot of fans. They forget that it was really just a couple of games.

I’m much more intrigued with Hunt given his background and steady improvement year to year. I don’t know if he’ll be a 10 sack guy but his ceiling seems higher than Smith. There’s also a chance Smith improves and just had a down year from his SB injury and re-tweaking it. Not a bad problem to have really, I think both could be EDGE 2 guys.

Don’t think the plan is set. It will depend on his play in 2026. If he plays like 2024 he’ll be signed, if he plays like 2025 then I don’t think he will.

I’m not so sure. Has Howie ever had a player actually play on his 5th year option? Everyone I can remember got picked up but were extended off it.

True. And Nolan would be an unhappy camper in that scenario. Allowable, but not likely.

LMAO, I'm supposedly "scared to respond to others" and this is your (clear lack of) response when I call you out with facts and challenge you to cease with the games and actually debate the topic. Great gifs though, you really got me, lol.

I really hope for your sake you are 15 years old or something because your stupidity and hypocrisy is beyond embarrassing.

No. You’re just an obnoxious twit.

He had 10.5 sacks over a 15-game span.

If he’s Edge 3 with all the other D-Line guys getting paid plus Mitchell, DeJean, Smith etc. I’d guess it’s picked up but I can see them moving on with a trade

I'm rooting for Nolan Smith because I think he's a glue guy. I think he's become one of the leaders on the team and I do think he has a lot of upside.

And if you have to pay him and Hunt then you do. And Carter too. Figure it out.

He had 6.5 sacks for the season. Poor....

Then he had 4 in the 3 playoff games. Thats where people became happy with his play thinking he finally broke out.

He didnt though....

Depends. Is his muscle injury significant? Tore and retore. I tore a calf muscle and there are things I lost in range of motion. It is interesting that Howie hasn’t picked up either 5th year yet for Nolan and Carter. I suspect extension offers have been made to both. I tend to think Hunt may be the better bet long term but who knows. Eagles did replace Patrick Johnson yesterday with James-Newby. Likely destined for the PS like Johnson. So there may be PS depth.

Ah. I don't really notice a lot of complaining about other posts on your end. NYEagle posted that same rant about 10 times at the end of the season any time someone posted about being unhappy with how the season unfolded

Supposedly signed as an UDFA per DiBona (smaller than the safety the Birds just drafted)

Isiah King, LB, Idaho

Isiah King arrived at the University of Idaho as a defensive back in 2021. Yet during his second season with the Vandals, King made the switch to linebacker. He became a full-time starter in 2025 and enjoyed a breakout season at Idaho. King recorded 79 tackles, nine tackles for loss and three sacks. Listed at 6’3” and 215 lbs., King likely needs to gain some weight to stick around at linebacker.
