That would be funny

I’ve completely come around on the Lemon pick, though I worry about Hurts capping his upside by still avoiding the middle of the field. I think he has JSN/Puka production kinda upside in the right environment.

I’m still way iffy on the Stowers pick. Analytics guys like him (I wish the Sumer Sports breakdown was clipped somewhere- they LOVE him), but I’m just not seeing it. His receiving ability would have to be elite for Mannion to adapt the whole offense for him, and that would seem to leave Lemon underutilized. Else, he maxes out as a package player, maybe 30-40% of the snaps, I.e., a souped up 2024 Calcaterra. Just so, so many ways this can fail, 1-2 it can succeed.

With Lemon, keep in mind that Hurts is in an adapt or out situation. His contract has an out after the 2027 season. So he has one year to guarantee he’s the future starter, and if the eagles don’t see improvement this year then they could start looking at a replacement over the next 2 drafts.

With Stowers, you have to think Mannion has a plan. Stowers is just too unique of a player to take without have NG a serious discussion about his usage prior to the draft. I think Howie gets that, and he made some remarks after the draft how they want talented players that fit the system. Stowers will be a hybrid type of player, probably get a solid amount of targets as a rookie, and ultimately just needs to fit within a finesse passing scheme.

Why give out draft grades before these kids play a single down in the NFL?

Evaluating the process and use of draft resources.

I don’t think they will be holding 11 from anyone. It could be his in a month

Think so? They've kept 25 on the shelf forever

and 12.....and 9......and 91.......and 55 soon. It amazes me how they won't give out those numbers but they have zero problem giving out 10, 21, 23, 36, 59, 71, 86, 96, etc. Either retire or number or don't, it's getting silly. I mean, they just drafted a QB and there isn't a single NFL approved QB number available to the guy.

Dinner and drinks with @T-1000

Donovan Wilson, Xavier Woods, Taylor Rapp, and Ashtyn Davis are probably the best remaining FA safeties. I still think they need to go the trade route at some point for a legit starter and have Epps as the 3rd safety but it certainly can't hurt to bring one of these guys in on a cheap one year deal to compete for a spot. They currently have issues in terms of a second starting safety, and safety depth as well.

Cool, he and I can discuss how badly the team has mismanaged the safety position multiple times in recent years since you claim they haven't.

Trade candidates would be Budda, Grant Delpit, Ronnie Hickman, and Justin Reid I'd imagine

Noticed the Pats took Jacas in the 2nd round. Wonder if he might be part of the trade for AJ.

Would you accept Jacas and next years 2nd round pick for AJ?

Because we'd all get way too much work done if they didn't. And clicks. I get it...analysis is fun. And stories about the recent draft are what sells.

What there's not NEARLY enough of...1-2-3 year retroactive analysis of prior drafts. 2 beat writers per year, nationally, will do some re-do drafts for the year before...and the exposure on those are pretty minimal compared to what you'd see with redundant immediate post-draft analysis. But they are usually interesting to read.

I'll pay for your unlimited bread sticks.

It's worth noting that after Monday at 4:00 p.m. EST, free agent signings will no longer count toward the compensatory pick formula.

Cool buddy, drinks are on me.

Albert Breer was on Boston radio and he said people in the Patriots building say Vrabel has changed a lot since the Russini drama broke. They told him he doesn't have the same energy or enthusiasm that he's usually known for since and they are hoping with some time away he comes back to his usual self.

I still think the idea of a dude leaving the NFL because he slept around is pretty unlikely, but for some reason this situation seems to carry a lot more weight than your typical romance drama and I while I still think it's unlikely Vrabel goes anywhere, the way people are talking about it, I don't think the chances are zero. If Vrabel were to step down, would AJ even wanna go there anymore?

They have Greenard locked up for 3-4 years, Hunt OR Smith will probably get an extension (guessing Hunt) by next off-season, and Ebiketie or JTS could possibly stick around if they are good enough as a rotational piece to bring back but not good enough to get a big time deal somewhere else which is unlikely. I would say no.

I thought MAYBE when the Pats drafted Lomu that he might end up as part of the diva trade but they had a need on the OL and the Eagles then turned around and drafted Markel Bell at 68. Everything about the Eagles actions this past weekend made it clear they didn't like this draft so my guess is they would prefer a 2028 first and certainly a 2027 first to someone like Lomu or Jacas.

Wait, what? I thought those pictures were totally innocent looking and we were all just jumping the gun assuming Vrabel and Hoessini were doing anything wrong. That's what you told us for the first few days after the pictures and this story came out. Oh yeah, and then there was months of you claiming AJ wasn't getting traded and it was all made up by WIP but now you think he's getting traded? I'm so confused by this post and I'm just hoping for clarity so we can add something positive to the "community." Also, what did "Fran say," Gargano, EJ.....?

I mean, in hindsight it makes sense.

Any clue why Deontae Lawson went undrafted? Saw many had him as a 3rd-4th rounder and obviously from a big time program

Has anyone posed a 2027 mock draft yet?

Most NFL coaches rarerly leave the team facility during the season and sleep about 4 hours a day getting ready for game day. I would be willing to bet that a ton of NFL coaches are on coc or adderall.

Could trade Smith for a quality Safety. Was thinking you need at least 3 solid DE's and that Hunt or Smith won't be re-signed so he is the replacement for one of them.
