Could trade Smith for a quality Safety. Was thinking you need at least 3 solid DE's and that Hunt or Smith won't be re-signed so he is the replacement for one of them.

Maybe, I doubt it, but maybe.

Now if they would only get rid of Cris Collinsworth

Anyone know what's going on with Lajarius Sneed? Has he been that bad with the Titans and/or is he hurt? I know he played safety in college and I was wondering if the Eagles might have interest in him with a move to safety.

Amen, and he can take his nepo-baby son with him too.

Yeah, both the high school numbers and the SATs are completely different from what they were a couple decades back. You can't compare the numbers to previous periods.

SAT scores went back to the 1600 scale. To me, what has changed the most is cost.

Has anyone posed a 2027 mock draft yet?

on YouTube Hail Mary Sports and Broshmo have videos, as well as MathisNFL and JWAC Gridiron

most of them have the Eagles going Corner and DT ( because Ojomo will likely be leaving ) next year.

Peacock is supposed to be releasing the ability to mute announcers later this year

SAT'S aren't what they used to be. Having gone through the college process with two kids in recent years most schools are SAT optional these days. I remember back in my day in the late 90's SAT'S were EVERYTHING and if you wanted to get into a good school you had to take them and you also had to do well on them.

It's worth noting that after Monday at 4:00 p.m. EST, free agent signings will no longer count toward the compensatory pick formula.

At 4:01, Howie signs ???

I assume other streaming services will follow if it's a success

They want to give the fan perspective of just the audience which sounds awesome

Oh for sure the cost. When did the scores go back to 1600 AND are tests still generating the same type of results or are the results inflated like what has happened with grades in college?

The key with drafting these kinds of players from rounds 3-7 is having a plan for depth. I would say with confidence these boom or bust players we drafted this year have a higher chance of becoming good starters than what you'd see from more traditional draft picks in that range. The issue, of course, is that they are more unreliable in populating the 53-man roster with reliable depth.

If you are either confident in the depth you already have or in your ability to acquire depth through other means (I'd wager that Howie spends more money annually on one year contracts on flawed vets with playing experience than most GMs)...then there's no reason not to take this approach to the draft after the first 2 rounds.

Howie has said he wants to draft potential starters at all points of the draft.

I think he's come to realize that backup types (ready to play) in the 4th to 6th rds have limited value b/c you can pick up guys picked in that range with a couple years of NFL experience off the waiver wire. Which he now does on a regular basis, both in February and August.

And you can often trade a 4th or 5th for a NFL near starter with 1-2 years of control, instead of drafting someone, spending a year or two developing them then dress them for 2 years as deep backups.

Evaluating the process and use of draft resources.

Really, it is just justification for the prognosticators as to how they ranked the picks. Look at all the new coordinators this year. Can they really be evaluating the player and how he fits with the team’s scheme if they don’t fully know the scheme. Take the Eagles, for example. New OL coach and rumblings on the expected blocking and offensive scheme. Yes, they hired Mannion, but Nick, Singleton and Moorehead are still here. Since Nick was hired as an offensive coach, his O philosophy won’t be missing entirely. Plus they added Grizzard as the passing game coordinator. And Mayo at whatever his role is. This presumption that Mannion will run Green Bay’s offense is a bit flawed. Pieces from it, yes. So the draft grade is extremely premature and will be for three years.

Take Sydney Brown as an example. Going back and looking, Brown got an A, A- grade and was a "red star” player. By the end of his year 3, I would give him a D (or I guess a C since they don’t seem to be any lower). In contrast, really didn’t have much of a scheme change since he was drafted. That’s kind of my point.

The change back to 1600 happened about 10 years ago. They had an essay section that was removed. They also have re-meaned it a couple of times. I think the scores are generally higher but their not significantly higher.

Ok, I think that is a good thing. It was super hard to compare or understand before after they changed the system.

People who didn't like Blankenship and were glad to see him go are going to be whining about the safety position all season.

Who "didn’t like Blakenship”? Being honest about his play isn’t dislike. There was a lot to like about him. Good instinct, more ballhawk than expected, good communication in the back seven (although Baun gets some credit there too). But he had limitations too. He got exposed a bit with Mukuba’s rookie mistakes and Jackson’s erratic play last year. Not every player needs to be a first round AllPro, but recognizing that isn’t dislike.

Albert Breer was on Boston radio and he said people in the Patriots building say Vrabel has changed a lot since the Russini drama broke. They told him he doesn't have the same energy or enthusiasm that he's usually known for since and they are hoping with some time away he comes back to his usual self.

I still think the idea of a dude leaving the NFL because he slept around is pretty unlikely, but for some reason this situation seems to carry a lot more weight than your typical romance drama and I while I still think it's unlikely Vrabel goes anywhere, the way people are talking about it, I don't think the chances are zero. If Vrabel were to step down, would AJ even wanna go there anymore?

Dude is staring divorce in the face. Are we surprised he isn’t demonstrating his gung-ho persona right now?

C - Kendall 6-4

RG - Bechton 6-7

Mine cost $500/semester at a Wisconsin State College/University in the late '70s. I lived at home so no food & lodging expenses.

Stone tablets were much less expensive back in the day, technology just costs too much, online books, laptops, tablets, labs, etc.
