I thought you said not including Brown. I agree his contract tells me he is likely to be on the roster.

Meant not including AJ Brown

Zeitler and Becton are available. And I didn't want Becton as recently as a month ago, but I'd take him for depth now. Who starts at guard if someone goes down? Kendall? Last season the top backup was Toth, that tells you all you need to know about how bad the depth is and we don't even have him anymore. I'm sure there will be guys available in June as well.

I feel like they will be signing or trading for a veteran safety. It's possible Carter looks and plays the part but I just think they want to add someone.

He signed with the 49ers.

Man, never ceases to amaze me how horrific the PHLY Eagles podcast has become, the daily format hasn’t helped, but EJ Smith adds nothing and never has.

The Eagles OL draft picks tell me Becton can be back on the table.

As far as old habits, maybe they will go away here again. maybe some of his success was stout but maybe motivation also came from certain teammates, and other coaches, big Dom, the atmosphere/culture here in general....

Give it a shot. You have all camp and pre-season to see if he is bought back in or not.

Apparently Nick Dawkins signed with the Ravens. Im surprised the eagles didnt make that one happen.

I don't watch or listen to anything now but I used to religiously watch Eagles Live. I think it ended around Chip or Doug

We actually have a game tonight in Boston. 6ers cut it to 1 about halfway through the 3rd quarter

Go on. Tell me you won’t trash Hurts at every turn.

And scapegoat is a legit verb, well used there.

Nope

Grimes!

@HazletonEagle

I really didn’t watch RBs much this year as I didn’t expect the Eagles to take one. What do,you know about the rookie camp invitees:

  • Elijah Green, RB, Sam Houston State

  • Jordon Simmons, RB, Georgia State

I didnt pay attention much either.

I just watched a little Green on youtube after we signed him. He looked decent enough to make me wonder why he hardly every played anywhere he was. Hes also pretty fast.

Dont really have an opinion on either of them.

most accomplished. far, far from greatest. Hes one of the least talented ever.

Hmm. Let me think about that.

IMHO, Cunningham was the most talented but he won, what? In fairness to him, he was poorly coached but he hardly improved from year two.

McNabb was probably more talented than Hurts but he killed a lot of worms and won, what?

Jaworsky? Nah.

Vick? Maybe more talented than Randall, maybe not. Won, what?

The Dutchman? Different era, different game. Still, he won and he wanted to win so there’s that.

Foles? Half a dozen of the greatest games in franchise history but a tough sell for most talented.

Bart Starr and Joe Montana were far from being great talents but they won.

My criterion is winning. As Lombardi said, "Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.”

You’re welcome to the talent.

I’d go with one more lineman in place of a fifth safety, otherwise it looks good to me.

Found this

Jordon Simmons, RB, Georgia State

Height: 5’11 1/2″
Weight: 202
40 YD: 4.39
10 YD: 1.49
Bench: 21
Vertical: 34″
Broad: 9’8″
3 Cone: 7.35
Shuttle: 4.56
Hand: 9 1/4″
Arm: 29 1/2″
Wingspan: 6’0 3/8″

More about Jordon Simmons:

Jordon Simmons started his career at Michigan State before joining Akron and eventually Georgia State. He led the Panthers in rushing this year, and actually plays more like a power back than a speed back, despite the impressive measurables. He isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder and gain a few extra yards, although he isn’t particularly shifty and won’t break through too many tackles. Simmons is a solid receiver and has a decently well rounded game for a likely UDFA in a weak running back class.

Simmons had one of the best 40s in the running back draft class, with a 1.49 10 yard split which led all running backs.
