Hmm. Let me think about that.

IMHO, Cunningham was the most talented but he won, what? In fairness to him, he was poorly coached but he hardly improved from year two.

McNabb was probably more talented than Hurts but he killed a lot of worms and won, what?

Jaworsky? Nah.

Vick? Maybe more talented than Randall, maybe not. Won, what?

The Dutchman? Different era, different game. Still, he won and he wanted to win so there’s that.

Foles? Half a dozen of the greatest games in franchise history but a tough sell for most talented.

Bart Starr and Joe Montana were far from being great talents but they won.

My criterion is winning. As Lombardi said, "Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.”

You’re welcome to the talent.

Found this

Jordon Simmons, RB, Georgia State

Height: 5’11 1/2″
Weight: 202
40 YD: 4.39
10 YD: 1.49
Bench: 21
Vertical: 34″
Broad: 9’8″
3 Cone: 7.35
Shuttle: 4.56
Hand: 9 1/4″
Arm: 29 1/2″
Wingspan: 6’0 3/8″

More about Jordon Simmons:

Jordon Simmons started his career at Michigan State before joining Akron and eventually Georgia State. He led the Panthers in rushing this year, and actually plays more like a power back than a speed back, despite the impressive measurables. He isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder and gain a few extra yards, although he isn’t particularly shifty and won’t break through too many tackles. Simmons is a solid receiver and has a decently well rounded game for a likely UDFA in a weak running back class.

Simmons had one of the best 40s in the running back draft class, with a 1.49 10 yard split which led all running backs.

Like the sound of that.

I’ll take that.

Boston area reporters seem convinced Boutte will be in a deal if it goes down. I’d take Boutte a 1st and a 3rd. Not sure what role Boutte would have here though he’d be like WR4 OR 5.

I’d rather do business with Buffalo and take Keon Coleman

Boutte played over 90% of his snaps out wide. So, he would likely compete for the X position with sucky Wicks.

Boutte averaged over 16 yards per reception. So even just as a sacraficial X, he fills a role as a down field threat. Right now no one really does that. We hope Hollywood brown isnt too washed. We do know Boutte is an ascending player who is already at minimum filling that role. Which would help open up underneath for Smith and Lemon.

But the Eagles traded for Wicks. If Boutte was in a handshake agreement, they wouldn't have traded for and paid Wicks.

Yea with this team i think any of the QBs listed could be just as successful as Hurts has been. Put Hurts on any of their teams and you get the same results those QBs did

I'm going with HOU. Stroud was beyond awful in the playoffs, that team is stacked and just needs competent QB play. And Jalen is from HOU.

I live down here so Im kind of forced to watch Texans games.

Stroud is not the problem. the O line has been getting him killed the last two seasons and major injuries to his wide receivers and the collapse of the running game ever since Arian Foster left hasn't helped either.

The goal is to put together a team within the confines of NFL rules which can win a championship. That means finding players who outperform their contracts. Rodgers certainly can outperform that contract.

Rodger’s is not that guy anymore, and hasn’t been for quite a few years.

Steelers have no backup QB behind Rodgers, who is injury prone. If we traded a 7th for Dalton, Hurts is worth at least a 4th to them.

Steelers fans think otherwise. Howard is Tom Brady 2.0 and Allar and him will be must see TV to see who’s better.

I expect Hurts to have his best passing year yet, with a very talented group of receivers and anyone not named Kevin Patullo directing the offense. Will be night and day from last year, with AJ Brown dogging it, giving half effort on run plays and pass plays. Looking forward to it.

We can only hope, for our sanities sake. We have to be honest though, he hasn’t been good as a passer since 22. I want him to succeed so we don’t have to search for a new QB for a while, but he’s truly been pretty bad as a QB unless the running game is carrying him outside of some stretches (the SB win run was great, but even that year he was hot garbage till about week 10).

Whelp, might as well start planning for next years draft already.

I don't see the Eagles carrying less than ten (and probably eleven) offensive linemen this year. They've brought in so many guys in the last year that I have to think they're going to try to keep as many as they can. You have the three draftees last year (Kendall, Hinton, Williams) as well as the guy they "stole" from the Rams (Lampkin). And then you have the two draftees this year (Bell, Morris). That's six young guys they're really hoping for.

With the five starters and Fred Johnson (a virtual lock), that's twelve guys. Obviously injuries can happen and that can sort things out a bit, but I have to think they're mentally committed to keeping a lot of those guys. Competition is a good thing and we'll see who wins what.

There's also a potential glut at tight end and quarterback so it's going to be tricky come final cutdown. I suspect they'll probably go light on DL and LB. And maybe even try to get by the first month without a longsnapper on their 53 (but obviously activated off the PS for games).

I don't see why not. Boutte was the X WR for New England.

That makes one a starting X WR (which we do not have on our roster yet), and the other one quality depth. It's not like they're the same player.

We're victims of success. The things we complain about, other teams would love to have. We won our division with a dead stick at OC.

Three years ago now, we complained because Hurts was one of the biggest turnover machines we'd ever seen. He was leading the league in turnovers. The last two years, he's led the league in fewest total turnovers. I think he's a little too risk averse at times but they're winning.

To put it in perspective, they are 2nd behind the Bills in total regular season wins the last 5 years. 3rd in total wins including playoffs. 2022 and 2024 were the most wins in franchise history to date.

We complained that this team relied too heavily on the QB and they built a team that is versatile. A team that doesn't need the QB to bail it out every drive. Hurts does a very good job of being a game manager and then being able to elevate on the biggest stages.

The grass is very Kelly green on this side of the fence. You just don't notice it because you haven't looked at the wasteland on the other side of the fence enough.

Trust me, there are 25 other teams that would love to be us.

What are the chances they had a gentlemens agreement to trade after June 1st but include this year's picks?

I asked that question before the draft.

Now, can anyone see the Pats potentially selecting Lomu for the Eagles and sending him here once the trade is announced?

I also remember the Pats drafted Jacas which I thought for sure would be an Eagles target.

We still have a need for both of those guys.

I was channel surfing last week and caught the end of a Mike Florio woo woo conspiracy that said this was the case, but what happens if the player got injured etc etc. Its possible, but in Florio land is the worst possible scenario that can happen

Doesn't it seem like Boutte and 2028 1st round pick is what we're ending up with for AJ ?

I don't know. Maybe.

Hoping maybe Craig Woodson is included.

There are options, which is nice.

Zeitler and Becton are available. And I didn't want Becton as recently as a month ago, but I'd take him for depth now. Who starts at guard if someone goes down? Kendall? Last season the top backup was Toth, that tells you all you need to know about how bad the depth is and we don't even have him anymore. I'm sure there will be guys available in June as well.

Have to agree with you... I would sign Becton for GUARD depth... we have lots of OT prospects + Fred but are very thin at guard. We don't have our OL guru anymore but you have to think that Becton would play better here than in LA if just because mentally he would be in a better place having done it before. At this point it would probably take very little money to have him sign a one year deal.

Having said all of this they might feel really good about Morris and Lampkin, which I obviously have no idea about. Anyone have a take on this?
