Two 4s in this draft is not a premium imo...DAL didn't make Howie do anything he wasn't prepared to do already. That was a contingency that the PHI FO had already prepared for to make sure they got their guy with their first pick. It was actually made more affordable by Lemon slipping a few picks really, I bet you anything PHI didn't expect him to be there that late, he was rated anywhere from #8 - #11 best pick in the draft, once he started slipping they were ready to jump.

Apparently we were trying to move up as early as 14

One of the 4s was my guy Overton…🤬

Yeah, it cut our draft in half. You can tell the last picks were all darts hoping something sticks.

I'm not down on Lemon. He definitely looks like a baller but we definitely gutted the back half of our draft.

Despite was a great safety prospect. How has he been in the league?

Do you mean Delpit? He's only 27.

Hopefully, Rece Verhoff minimally latches onto the PS this year. Did well on his pro day. 19/23 last year on FGs. High of 57. Made all Extra points. Missed only 2 for whole career. Accurate inside 50. Comfortable kicking from 60. Also good at the knuckle kickoff. I will be intrigued following him this offseason.

The Rams really liking Lemon made me feel better about the pick, Snead is a very good talent evaluator

I find it amusing that DAL and PHI worked together to F PIT...PHI is known for swooping in a pick before someone and getting their preferred player, DAL did it with Micah and Caleb (last two times I remember, there may be a few others). For DAL to reach out to a rival (if this is what really happened, and I am not 100% sure it really did) is cool for the division. It would have been much cooler to do it to WAS or NYG 🤣.

Delpit is on last year of deal for Browns. Seems to be alot of chatter on him. Couple years younger than Reed. Browns may not want to give him a huge extension and could cash out now. Got good height at 6"3 and weight at 208 and would complement Makuba. He's really good in tackling and run support, while Makuba is better suited in coverage. For Howie not to pursue EMW after falling, and not pursue budget free agents like Brisker etc. tells me he has something in his back pocket for trade coming after June 1st.

The chatter is just conjecture based on them drafting Toledo safety. No sourced rumor to my knowledge

They also have Ronnie Hickman who they like. Can see a trade here. Howie could look to extend him right away just like he did with Greenard after trade. Got the cap room. Cap hit only $4M if post June 1 trade. With new extension probably lower.

That’s awful. There is no excitement, tension, joy, or heartbreak in that. Truly, I feel sorry for you.

Don’t feel sorry for me.

Let's face it though. Didn't you think this was a dynasty team 15 short months ago after demolishing the Chiefs? I'd be pretty disappointed and feel jipped if this team doesn't make a run this year with all this great recent talent drafted that we were so high on at that time. And I won't be thinking about past achievements. It's a new year!!

Sucks Ojomo turned into a great 7th round pick and is still super young but this is the last year we will get out of him

We got the Nigerian Nightmare on layaway.

Yeah didn't notice my phone changed it.

I found out hes still a mediocre tackler. Missed tackle percentage and PFF tackling grade...

I thought GPAs went up to 4 - did he go to the same school as the guitarist from Spinal Tap?

Weighted GPAs. When you take advanced classes in high school, they get boosted, because generally, kids get lower grades in the advanced classes than they would get if they took 'regular' classes. So that's an incentive to get the kids into higher level classes, without tanking their GPAs. Colleges know about that so it isn't about that, but that's how they work out class ranks for Valedictorian, etc. A B in an Advanced Placement class is worth more than a B in a gen ed course. Generally, Honors classes get a +1, AP classes can get a +2 to the GPA.

I am not 100% sure Ojomo isn't an Eagle in 2027, if no extension for JC this offseason. Think about it, if you can sign MO for $20M or JC for $40M, which one do you do? Need to not extend JC this offseason for optionality and to merely see if JC rebounds from 2 bum shoulders and plays hard disciplined football.

In a weak draft. I think we'll be fine. I don't get all the consternation over 2 4th round picks in a weak draft class. We got the guy that the team clearly targeted, and in return they lost out on guys that likely would have been 5th or 6th round picks in another year. Small price to pay. Day 3 picks, as Howie uses them, are primarily used to move around the board to land guys you target that are significantly better for your team than the others available. Is it better to give up a couple 4th round picks to land a first rounder you covet... or to get stuck with picking from a bunch of players that are a notch (or two) below... or even trade back to get a coveted 4th round pick in addition to the guy you are 'meh' about?

I just love being able to start twelve players on defense. I hope the other team doesn't notice.

Yeh, ya'll will need a new nickname for that guy...Christian Okoye has that one already. Cannot wait to see him work.

Gym Shorts is already trying to get some of his guys in Philly for when he takes over.

The OL hamstrung the offense and magnified Patullo's weaknesses.

I blame the OL management on Patullo and Sirianni also. They had proven backups, at the very least one for Jurgens (Toth, who played well enough when Jurgens was out) and they continued to trot out 2 broken guys despite being a very obvious problem for the offense for months. Coaching malpractice at every level and cost us a real playoff run.

Not sure it was just OL. Just about every offensive player except Smith looked beat all year. Barkley, folks were talking about his loss of burst, AJ too, Goedert and Calcaterra. Hurts took a pop at about the 2 when he took on the tackler, without success, about the first or second game. He looked rocked when he got up. Brotherly shove relies on his ability to bull through contact and he really struggled there last year. Then you have Carter’s shoulders and Nolan Smith’s pec so it wasn’t offense alone.

Then throw in Patullo’s play calling and it was worse. I do think losing BVS (Latu isn’t much of a FB) and Wilson impacted what Patullo planned. Plus the lack of blocking by the TEs. Enough blame to go around.

I think the NFL is already pushing the limits, with international travel and the one bye per conference playoff grouping. That’s 20 or 21 games. Ever notice how often a player poached in free agency from a Super Bowl team often struggles the next year. (And, yes, I oppose an 18th game and what the NCAA is doing with their playoffs is pushing it too).
