Also noted in this: Stowers was under consideration with their second round pick. That makes sense as Payton loves pass receiving TEs like Jimmy Graham and Evan Engram.

Jurgen's injury occurred in 2024 and Dickerson got hurt in training camp.

The play calling was bad, but we are about one step away from blaming AIDS, inflation, the straight of hormuz, and global warming on Patullo's playcalling.

Dickerson was also injured at the end of the 2024 season. I don't think he got healthier.

I never understood how anyone could watch hockey. It’s honestly crazy to me.

I would rather watch the two worst teams in the NBA play each other 10 times in a row than watch one hockey game.

Because the NHL is better than the NBA?

NHL players will get elbowed and finished their shift.
NBA players will get touched, roll on the ground for 5 minutes, then miss the next 2 games for rest management.

It took me way too long to figure out what the hell you were talking about. I thought you meant Cole Payton

It’s like the other day when a guy told me he didn’t think Curb Your Enthusiasm was funny. I was astonished.

It’s crazy how different peoples opinions can be. 😄

Nah - if I want to watch a bunch of dudes flail around I'll go to a cirque de solei show. The NBA is a joke.

So what percentage of snaps does everyone think Stowers will play at X ?

Playoff hockey if you have a team in the hunt is right up there with the NCAA tournament as far as most fun sports to watch.

The NBA is basically volleyball at this point. Volleyball is bump, set, spike. Nothing more. The NBA is 3-point chuckers, alley-oop slam dunk, foul shots. Nothing more -- and a complete waste of time watching the first 46 minutes of any game.

In the 1997 season where Jerry Rice missed almost the entirety, SF went on an 11 game win streak. In 2006 after TO left, Mcnabb put up career highs in TD%, AY/A, yards per game (ypg was higher than 2004, but the game he got injured dropped his average significantly), and the second best passer rating of his career. There is a phenomenon where a QB is so dependent on a #1 receiver that they diversify and improve after that player leaves.

Taking up a lot of real estate here, I think this could have been formatted differently to make the same point. 😆

Well in Stafford's case, pretty much all he had was Megatron. I can't recall a single other lions receiver during that time

NBA is completely diluted today with tanking teams, overall talent distribution, injuries affecting title chances more than any other team sport in the world, stupid attempts at a salary cap, and the lack of star power relative to years past. It’s just all crap in every facet.

Yep. Unwatchable. Playoff hockey OTOH is great stuff. Tense. Brutal. Fast. The speed and violence of the game is unmatched. Great skill level. I wouldn’t mind a larger rink though.

On the other end of the spectrum, I would rather watch women's hockey than the NBA finals. There's a lot more grit and effort in women's hockey than any NBA team where people are just chucking 3 after 3 after 3.

NHL needs to graduate to European rink size, I personally believe the only reason they haven't is because every arena would have to remove lower bowl seats (the most expensive) which means less money.

He had Golden Tate from 2014-2018 until he was traded to the Eagles. Calvin Johnson's final 4 years were 2012-2015

Some people don't like lower scoring sports like soccer and hockey. Even baseball can seem boring to many. Basketball has high scores and a lot of back and forth.

Imagine if in football, scoring was only 1 point. You get 1 point for a TD and there's no extra point. You just go back and forth trying to score. Not as dramatic. Of course there's different strategy elements in options to kick a FG, going for 2.

Would soccer and hockey be better if a goal were 6 points and then you can line up for an additional shot for an extra point?

I find high scoring games unmemorable and when you stack that on the current NBA style of play, it's a completely generic experience to me. I'll remember the dogpile in front of Wall-dar or Zegras losing his skate in the tunnel despite no goals being scored.

Hockey is always the most fun sport to watch. It takes a nimble, intelligent, dignified mind to understand it, so I understand why it is #5 on the priority list for the United States sports fan...

If we are truly being honest with ourselves that Flyers game last night was extremely boring.

Most Americans don't have much of an opportunity to play hockey - basketball has a big advantage there. I like playing basketball, just not watching it.

Playoff hockey is good because it's tense and every goal matters. Regular season hockey sucks. Honestly, all regular season sports suck except football. And the NHL is such a corrupt league in general as is the NBA. Baseball is the worst. It's such a slog. It goes on forever. In baseball when you get to June you still have 5 months left in the baseball season. 5! That's how long the entire NFL season is. They'll never do it, but they need to cut the season down by like a third.

And the NBA is about to destroy their own league entirely with their new lottery reforms which will make the sport virtually unwatchable and pointless for like 30% of teams.

I figure basketball should start on Christmas and just push through the summer during the duldrums - and to me if they got rid of the 3pt line altogether it would jumpstart variation in play.
