It used to be smart to lock up a player as soon as they broke out...”they will only get more expensive, lock them up now.”  That philosophy has burned this team horribly.

I hear you, but we didnt do that with these contracts.  Alshon/Djax/Cox/Graham/Kelce- none of those are locking up young talent.  They are overpaying for aging talent.

Surprise surprise. It was all BS. Doug clearly said he is the play caller. He needs to be gone ASAP.

This has been an exhausting season but everyone will be back. I want to say right now I won’t get Sunday ticket but if they draft Chase and some other quality players I’ll be sucked right back in

You pay for Sunday Ticket, too? Good. I’m glad I’m not the only person having to pay extra for their suffering.

At least he admits it. I didn't expect him to lock Metcalf and Adams down, but at the same time I think it's fair to expect him to not give those guys one of their best games of the season each.

Im not surprised that Slay has begun to look like something less than what he is. Thats been my fear with any high priced FA CB, or high draft pick as long as Schwartz is here.

Last week he had the ball to DK where he didnt turn his head. Slay ALWAYS locates the ball. Thats one of the reasons why in Detroit, no one EVER completed long balls on him. It was nearly impossible to beat Slay deep.

Suddenly, hes not making any plays. And not locating the ball.

Hes as good as we are ever going to see with Schwartz. No CB will ever succeed. We took an excellent CB and make him look just above average.

Exactly.  If he's a top CB, then he needs to at least slow them down.  He wasn't even a speedbump.

He’s hurt. My goodness.

Patrick Robinson was incredible here.

If the eagles did this I would legitimately stop being a fan for good.

For you Wentz die hards out there:  you assume Wentz can be 2017 Wentz again, but Howie and Doug can't be.

The correct answer is 2017 was magic for the whole team and that magic is three years gone.

Howie can't because he's been Fing up the cap and contracts for years now. He also can't draft worth a damn(evidence of years and years) and if you feel Wentz is a bust then that would just be more evidence that Howie can't daft. So either way Howie sucks

I don't think Doug can because for months now he's said he'll run more or even simplify the offense to help his QB out or do more roll outs and hasn't done anything. He's done

Wentz threw for over 4000yds just last year with practice squad players. That crap doesn't just go away. He's played like crap but there's likely a multitude of reasons for that whether people want to face reality and accept it. It's not just Wentz. If they somehow give up a lot of picks to some team to take on his contract then I think he'll do well over there and we'll have no picks and no cap with aging players in bad contracts while trying to rebuild

yeah true. And for a fleeting moment LeBlanc was incredible and Maddox looked extremely promising. It doesnt last. No one will ever succeed. Robinson was probably smart to leave.

And Slay is hurt. He was questionable with an ankle injury I believe. It’s hard to play 1 on 1 against two of the best WRs on an island when you’re hurt.

I’m paying Sunday ticket now too smh

I have college students in the family and use them for the discount

yeah. that doesnt stop him from turning his head. Hes being coached to be less than what hes capable of.

I've been one of the folks who has brought up that scenario.  I'm not saying that's the ultimate solution but I do question where Lurie's heart is as an owner now.  He's a billionaire.  The Eagles are his money making machine.  He got the SB monkey off his back.  Now he can do things exactly as he sees fit.  He's sounding more and more like Jerry Jones from recent reports.  I always liked the fact that Lurie was the ANTI Jerry Jones.  He stayed away from things.  He owned the team and didn't mess around with much football stuff.  He hired the guys to do the job.  Now we are hearing that he has more of a say on who the team drafts, who he wants to play and such.

Do I realistically think Lurie should sell the team?  No.  Do I wonder if things might not actually ever get fixed unless he sells the team?  Yes.

I think Lurie trusted Andy Reid when he was here and was the "Anti-Jerry Jones" during the Reid era.  Andy Reid was the constant professional, he was great with the players and he was the ultimate, "High Character" guy.  On a scale of 1-10 he was the 10.

When Chip Kelly was hired, Lurie (may or may not have) assumed Chip Kelly was the "same type" of "High Character" guy that Reid was.  So when Chip Kelly went to Lurie and asked him for complete control of player/personnel, Lurie gave it to him.  A few years later, when the "house collapsed" Lurie realized he made a mistake.  (He may have felt "betrayed" in a sense because he trusted Kelly with the team, forcing Howie "in the basement"...it likely caused a ton of internal strife to begin with...and when he found out how Kelly apparently "disrespected players", etc etc...well, he completely lost trust.  So I would guess, from that point forward, he became "more involved".

It's like this:

Andy Reid was the long-term "Loyal, trustworthy girlfriend"

Chip Kelly was the one night stand who became the "Controlling girlfriend who cheated on him"

So now, it's a harder to trust "the new girlfriend"

And the rest is history.

I say this 100% in gist but you get the point.

(The same could possibly be said about Howie, to a lesser extent).

This is all just an educated guess/conjecture on my part, btw.

I doubt it.

Sure.  If he's too injured to play, then he shouldn't play.  If he's healthy enough to play, then he can play.  And if he's healthy enough to play, but not to be singled up on Metcalf and Adams, he needs to tell someone so that he can get help.  It doesn't help the team for him to get roasted all game by those guys, injured or not.     And, whether his coverage was good or not, he was getting beat, because the teams weren't scared of going for him even a little bit.  They said, "that's our best WR, and he's singled up... we'll take that matchup".  And he never forced them to go away from it.  And the Eagles coaches never did either.  It was nice of Schwartz to stand up for Slay after the fact in Seattle.  But, he didn't do much to help him during the game.

He could've had a couple picks last week if he'd turn his head around a couple times. I would hope the coaches aren't coaching Slay that way. While I don't like the technique either, I understand deploying it for guys like Maddox and the rest of the seconday.

What the hell happened to Carson. I simply don’t understand how badly he has regressed. From MVP front runner, to a deer in headlights. It’s clearly a mental block. He needs a change of scenery. But this is a disaster

I'm always amazed at how great the Chiefs pass blocking is. Check it out yourselves if you want to be reminded of what a good OL is.

The defense was fine. They let Metcalf have his and took away Lockett. I’m sure most of us were shocked Lockett didn’t have a big game against us. It was pick your poison.
