My initial reaction is that I am stunned the Rams gave up Verse, and Cleveland did well here assuming that Verse signs an extension. Garrett is a generational player, and I don't think he slows down anytime soon. But doing this...how does LA resign Nacua, Young, Turner, etc.? They have a lot of young, core pieces that will need extensions, and now can they afford it? All in for 2026, and then I bet both Stafford and McVay move on.

Paying a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd for in the incremental improvement from Verse to MG - from maybe a top ~10 edge to the best. Steep price that only makes sense if you win it all this year, IMO.

What makes you think there's any problem with Carter? Just because a contract extension didn't happen?

Howie's leverage is petulance. Everyone knows the Eagles have moved on from AJ Brown. They've invested a first round pick in his replacement, not to mention the change they've invested in Hollywood Brown and Wicks.

The only thing to drive the price up is the possibility that Howie says F you I'll take nothing and he can rot here if they don't hit his asking price. And Howie probably would do that. So that's leverage.

Outside of that, probably not much leverage.

EXACTLY. How someone comes away from the report that the Browns asked about Carter in a Garrett deal and Howie said no as a reason to believe he won't be here long term is laughable. Then again, you have to consider the person making the point and then it makes perfect sense.

I think Garrett’s age really doesn’t matter with the rams. Their window is 2026 and 2027. So it doesn’t matter as much for them. Still think the browns were late to deal him by a year or two.

I agree it close, I’m a Verse fan so that swings it for me. There was only one guy that had more QB hits but less sacks so I think there’s room for him to take it to the next level. Have to see how he does in Cleveland without Byron Young and Fiske though.

Howie could be waiting to get the AJ trade done with before extending Carter. I think he gets an extension before the season starts

The F are you talking about. There were plenty of people who said early on in the 2026 season that he was gone in the off-season. You are literally just making something up when it comes to Carter and pretending like there is real smoke. You somehow took Howie refusing to trade him in a package for Garrett to be more evidence he won't be back.
