I actually still think Lemon is going to wind up being good. Deebo had similar speed and he was a great fit for this type of offense. I guess I’d worry about him breaking down a bit sooner than other WRs if he’s used a ton in physical situations for years, but that’s a good problem to have. At least it means he was good enough to do it for a while.

I wonder where Westbrook would have peaked at on the NFL Network Top 100 voted by the players if it existed bac k when he played. Most underrated RB in NFL history possibly but I feel like he had a ton of respect from all other players in the NFL. I feel like he would have been voted top 10 at least one year. He really was the engine of the Eagles offense from 2003 until he hit his wall and left for the 49ers in 2010.

Hey fogtag, still working on that hype video of Howie making love to your V?

I think Bell gets plenty of looks this season. Lane surely is going to miss some time.

Management and coaching will know by week 12 if he’s a legit starting RT in the NFL going forward.

Either way, OL has to be top priority going into next offseason unless Greenard looks like a total miss on the edge.

Hopefully the move to RT goes smoothly

@vikas83 what's the cap savings next season with a Lane retirement?

Check out Spotrac. Howie extended Lane a few times so there is a bunch of dead money which probably accelerates once the contract terminates. Can deduct the 2027 option bonus since we won't pay it but you are still looking at a big nut. Add Goedert too if we move on from him.

Can't we sign him to a Bobby Bonilla contract and spread it out iver the next 30 years....?

Hypothetically, if Lemon misses the rest of camp with the hammy, but is healthy enough for week 1, who do you think starts in the slow week 1 at WR?

Id rather see them bring him along slowly like they did with DeJean

XM NFL radio did Eagles training camp today. Worth a listen. Interviewed Siri, Howie, Hurts, Dejean, Mitchell. Some things that struck me:

EVERYONE was complimenting Wicks. Mentioned by name in every interview.

A lot of hype about Jalyx Hunt taking the next step too. Also mentioned frequently

Torrey Smith was effusive when talking about Kuper. Said he really liked what he saw out of the new OL coach.

Might just lean heavy on the run game for week 1

Lampkin is basically irrelevant. Yesterday was the first time they tried him at G and who knows if it was just to be a body. I really can’t see a guy his size ever playing G in the NFL. It sounds almost absurd.

Another thing to factor in is this might also be Steens last year. I guess he could sign a short term deal for cheap but I wouldn’t be surprised if he walked either. Add in Dickerson and whatever he’s going through, a first round T/G would not be surprising at all.

Lampkin is going to sub in for hurts on tush pushes

Flip the ginger for a 5th. Or Tanner for whatever inflated price TATE thinks he’s worth this week

Smith, wicks, and brown

I thought Bridgewater retired years ago

I would not give the Lions Tanner. If the Eagles trade him then I want him going to a bad team or the AFC. I don't want to help out a good NFC team to then have a better backup QB than we would.

The whole Dalton situation with how much they have been giving him 2nd team reps in the spring and summer is very odd. If he had previous experience with Mannion I would get it but no. There is just no upside to Dalton if Hurts gets injured and misses games. I also think we are going to see McKee play great in the preseason again while Dalton struggles.

I think it could be one of two things:

1) Their opinion of McKee dramatically dropped within the organization after that bad loss to the Redskins in final week. He was playing with backups so if this it he reason that is probably an unfair reaction. At the same time they probably should have still won that game and McKee had chances like a 1st down he could have easily run for on a 3rd or 4th down but instead threw a bad incompletion.

2) They have Joe Flacco regret. Older QB that is thought of as finished and in just a backup role at this point in his career. But then Joe Flacco went onto be really good, win comeback player of the year and establish himself as probably the top backup QB in the league. Do they think they made the right move in bringing Flacco in but wrong to trade him and now they feel they have a similar read on Dalton at this stage of his career and they don't want to do it again? Even at the expense of at least one more year of Tanner McKee at backup.

Thinking about which potential starters we might see play in preseason.

All of the safeties including Makuba

Nolan Smith

Mundt

Wicks

I can't see them playing anyone else. Even if Lemon comes back before the 2nd preseason game I think they hold him out at this point just to make sure he is healthy for week 1. Maybe Wicks has done enough in camp for them to not play him in the preseason but I feel like he probably plays still.

Wish Lemon could get some snaps before week 1

But also worried he might be made of glass
