Ooof. That seating. 🙃

I ask because I don’t know, does anyone have bad /obstructive seats at the Linc?

Bet those obstructed view seats still cost $200+

There are none in the Linc

That’s a fairly decent list of Teams. A lot of newness for the Eagles Offense, so, my guess is that’s why the Birds are not considered a top tier NFL team. Which is an accurate assessment, IMO.

There are a bunch with glass like the Bills photo. Maybe not as extreme. But there were a lot of complaints when the Linc opened.

I watched chunks of Vikings games from both 2024 and 2025 and this is a rough assessment. First off, they always always always show at least six guys in pass protection. Usually it's a RB but often it is also a TE (showing seven). Sometimes the sixth man stays in to block and if it's the RB he always stays in if the defense shows double A gap pressure. If there's no A gap pressure he may chip, stay in to block, or feint a chip and release into the flat. If the sixth man is a TE, he often squares up on the outside rusher on his side. When he does that the OT on that side will look inside first and then back out to the TE. We saw Shanahan do this with the TE in the playoffs a few years back and it got two QBs injured. Kuper's OT may look inside but his primary responsibility is the outside rusher. There was one really cool play where the TE and RB doubled the outside rusher and the OT was free to block inside. They only tried that once that I saw but it worked. Sometimes the TE doubled the outside rusher with the OT but I did not see a single play where the OT got help from a G. Not one. I may have missed a bunch because Mailata has commented on it, that or it's a new wrinkle that Kuper has come up with. I don't think a lot about it because it seems suicidal to me. If Mailata gets help from Dickerson, that leaves the C one-on-one against a DT. If a team tries that against us, that means Carter or Davis is one-on-one against the C and that could be very bad for the QB. The Vikings OL did not slide much in pass pro but they did run Inside Zone action on certain pass plays including a naked bootleg against the flow and a bubble screen also against the flow. They ran a couple of split zone runs and their TE (#87) looked about as good blocking that play as Calcaterra did. Run plays were mostly IZ, stretch (or OZ - I sometimes have difficulty distinguishing one from the other), jet sweep, and counter. Green Bay ran a counter trey (I mention that because of Mannion) but Minnesota did not...at least in the games I saw. Minnesota ran as much under center as from the gun and they used a lot of motion. I think I learned more watching games from 2024 because J.J. McCarthy looked lost out there in 2025.

They will have the best defense in the league, at worst the 2nd or 3rd best defense in the league. Any team with an elite unit is an elite team in the league.

So what do We really Expect this Offense to be?

Zone play action?

I think theyre going back to mauling almost castillo style. Barkley said theyre letting the big guys be athletes, and another OL I heard described it as downhill.

I think you're both right. I'm expecting a lot of stretch plays mixed with inside zone, occasional split zone runs. Naked bootlegs. We tend to think of teams that run the OZ/stretch as having smaller, more agile OL and while that's most common, if you have big guys who can run, like Mailata, they can do it as well or better. What this means for Dickerson, I don't know, but the other OL can all run and they're all running maybe 7-8 yards on a play, not 20 or 30. I can see Lampkin making the team because he can really scoot and Steen should look better too. With the bootlegs and play action we'll see a different Hurts because the plays are designed to get his first read open. Motion with a purpose. The system also will put him on the move a lot. I think that will help him and stress the defense. I think Mundt fits in really well as the blocking TE. There will be some growing pains, of course, but it has a chance. I'm thinking it comes down to how well Dickerson can move. JMHO.

I also think Bell has a real chance as a successor to Lane. They've tried the last couple years to bring in a lot of project tackles.

Hes the earliest drafted. And while they have had really good returns from Fred Johnson as a backup RT and occasional starter, reports are that he is having a rough camp. But the eagles have him at LT..so theyve displaced him in favor of Bell which tells you exactly where they want Bell to be.

that list is an absolute slap in the face. except for Seattle we've beaten every team on that list. We should be at # 5 at the very least

How many high quality RTs are drafted round 3 or later? I'm curious.

While I'm hopeful it's only been a week.

XM NFL radio did Eagles training camp today. Worth a listen. Interviewed Siri, Howie, Hurts, Dejean, Mitchell. Some things that struck me:

EVERYONE was complimenting Wicks. Mentioned by name in every interview.

A lot of hype about Jalyx Hunt taking the next step too. Also mentioned frequently

Torrey Smith was effusive when talking about Kuper. Said he really liked what he saw out of the new OL coach.

The Wicks hype is starting to sniff of being orchestrated. Smith and Lemon aren’t participating and they have no one else to throw the ball to. Literally no one. The passing offense is going through him.

I’d love to be wrong and see him have a fantastic year. But they’ve got one guy to throw to and of course there is going to be a concerted hype/morale job around AJ Brown’s replacement.

Wicks just needs to be competent enough to keep heat off of smitty, he doesnt need to be a monster.

How I have the top 10 teams set for right now.

1. Rams

2. Seahawks

3. Eagles

4. Broncos

5. Patriots

6. Bears

7. Bills

8. Packers

9. Chargers

10. Jaguars

Why would beats be concerned about pushing a morale/hype job? It's definitely good news that Wicks has looked good and Hurts has been trusting him. The knock on Wicks is inconsistent hands, so that really being the reporting surrounding him throughout training camp is promising.

Does Wicks qualify for that nasty nate award?

Why is Dallas on there at all?
