In the college videos I saw, it looked like he was a waist bender and would get out over his feet. It seems like he did a better job using his length to initiate contact and re-direct. He doesn't look agile but he doesn't have to be super agile if he knows how to maintain leverage and use his length to shut down pass rushers. It does look like he got his feet crossed and it seems like he should have been better positioned to get the spin move. I think the initial contact is good but he's got a fair amount of work to do.

That's the answer. But that clip talking about his agile feet, etc. Bit of an oversell. I get it... its the summer and everyone on the roster is a future All-Pro. Except, they aren't. Reality will come soon. I look forward to seeing him in live game action Saturday.

We don't need to add another WR. Smith is supposed to replace Brown. At least that's what I've been seeing from certain posters since the trade

Nah - I don't think loafing on half his routes and pouting on the sidelines and in social media is something we'll get from Smitty

I also don't think they need to bring in any more WRs. They still have Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore, and Darius Cooper. Although he's on the older side and probably closer to the end, I think Hollywood Brown is going to surprise people with his production. It would not surprise me if he ended up with more yards/TDs than Wicks.

The idea is that the offense has more than 2 WR to throw to. The last several seasons we have seen 2 WRs predominately get the majority of targets. Last year Brown and Smith had 155 receptions. The rest of the WRs combined had 33 total.

Now, instead of just 2, its going to be spread across 3-4. DeVonta is a completely different player than AJ Brown, so I don't think its genuine to say he's going to replace him. I don't think there's many WRs with Browns skill set, so replacing him isn't going to be a 1 person job.

What I would like to see is DeVonta be the number 1 WR. We've seen him do this in the past with freaking Quez Watkins and Jalen Reagor as #2 and #3 WRs. Can Wicks/Lemon help in the #2/#3 spots enough? Wicks is significantly better than Quez. Can Lemon be better than Reagor? The default answer should be yes, but we will have to wait and see.

"Replacing" Brown was never the plan. We have an excellent Z in Smith and drafted a player in the St Brown/Nacua/JSN/Kupp mold. It's going to be a completely different offense. We still need a competent X guy who can make the occasional contested catch and do some dirty work down field, and by all accounts Wicks has shown he can do that *in camp. It's ok to be optimistic about. It doesn't mean anyone expects him to be Brown 2.0.

They may, it remains to be seen how the other guys not named Devonta produce.

It's one of the more precarious positions on the roster though.

Didn't see the whole PC until now. Fans act like players don't care about accolades and only the selfish players do

Proof that even greats care about accolades

Every year I hear about the importance of getting reps for developmental players and every year teams sign pure preseason snap eaters with no NFL future. I guess the thought is these guys can sign quick and are experienced enough to execute reasonably well in the games?

Such a weird run in the league for him. Had legit talent coming out of Ole Miss, not sure why it didn’t translate

I was so excited about Wright. I don’t recall reading a single thing about him in camp until this. Bummer.

I can help you out with that.

He was drafted by the Jets and traded to the Browns.

I did some research on draft history over a year ago, I'll see if I still have it on my laptop. But basically most of the best OT were 1st round picks, but like any position there can be good players found in any round.

Just looking at Eagles history you have Jason Peters was undrafted then we traded for him. Todd Herremans was a 4th round pick. He was a solid player. If Bell is a solid player that's great. They all can't be elite franchise legends. Mailata of course was a 7th round project. Big V Hatai was a 5th rounder and solid backup, stepped in for Peters when he got hurt and played in the 1st Super Bowl win.

So 5th round doesn't automatically on it's own mean Bell can't be the long-term replacement, or even a 3-4 year replacement while they take advantage of a rookie deal (and cheaper than 1st round).

O line is the Eagles bread and butter. They'll always add talent there.

1st Team All Pro Offensive Tackles going back 10 years according to Pro Football Reference, there are 12 who were picked after the first round or undrafted.

  1. Dion Dawkins 2nd Round

  2. Mailata 7th

  3. Zach Tom 4th

  4. Terron Armstead 3rd

  5. David Bakhtiari 4th

  6. Mitchell Schwartz 2nd

  7. Andrew Whitworth 2nd

  8. Daryl Williams 4th

  9. Alejandro Villanueva UDFA

  10. Demar Dotson UDFA

  11. Marcus Cannon 5th

  12. Ryan Schraeder UDFA

After the spring hoopla, not much mention of Riq in TC notes
