That's a pretty low bar. If he can't, then as another poster observed Howie needs to stop drafting WRs in the first round.

For the record, I'm a believer in Lemon and think he was a good pick. As of now he hasn't shown much, but we also haven't had many opportunities to see him.

The full interview with Siri

Summary from Nick's comments:

  • Hurts has always been accurate, can make every type of throw although he specializes in the deep ball

  • On Mannion: an expert on every position on offense not just QB

  • On coaching in Philly: says he had thick skin already from experiences in his life and the way his coaches and mentors treated him, appreciates Philly

Not what I want to hear.

From all the looks of it. It's early, but this offense and wide receiver group looks to be light years ahead already from last year. A pretty deep group. A little more than 1 week in and they are going toe to toe with a Championship caliber defense. Much quicker than I even expected. I've always contended that Hurts will outwork everyone and figure this new offense out and will adjust. We will soon learn that AJ was in fact cooked (absolute heist here by Howie in getting any 1st rounder for him) and is addition by subtraction. Hurts will now have the ability to spread the ball around and not have to be hyperfocused on a childish toxic diva who can't separate and quits on plays.

I like this group with Devanta as the 1 and Wicks, Brown & Cooper rounding it out for a majority of the snaps. While Lemon can spend this year, as a young developing guy, who won't have to be rushed along. Also, Elijah Moore is a nice youngish vet addition who should make the team and knows the offense. Deepest group they've had in yeeeeears.

He could end up being HoF great when healthy but made of glass. We'll see

The question of the WR group will be, if Wicks proves to be a solid WR2 who may even be a high end WR2 for certain teams- Im thinking on par with a Jalen Nailor contract from this spring- is that something the eagles can afford?

Or, is Wicks going to be a rental this year and next, in which case the eagles need to be searching for their next X as soon as next march/april.

It's shaping up to be Smith, Wicks and Cooper as the Top 3. With a sprinkle of Hollywood as your 4th, for some gadgetry and deep plays. And Lemon as the 5th for now, who I see coming along slowly and getting more snaps later in the year. Packers used 5 wide receivers. I expect the same here. A competent group here, with an OC who will know how to deploy them. And also much better in the run blocking department.

I agree, for this year.

Im thinking about what they need to do at the X position for the future.

Will Wicks be affordable at a Nailor level contract, or will we need to be looking for a rookie level deal?

Cause I think Lemon is staying in the slot for his career. Not to say he cant be a target monster there, but I dont think hes going to become an X.

Maybe a little more than Nailor. Think Howie gets ahead of it early and he gets $15M per for 2 years added on to his current contract with a nice guarantee. Think he's all in here and found a home and would be happy with that kind of deal.

Legend? He was a starter for 3 seasons before being replaced by a real Eagles legend, Foles.

Step one: Put the ball between the posts.

Elliott has a very short leash this year. If starts slow he gets yanked. Kinda PO'd they didn't even challenge him this camp. The blind loyalty here is bizarre. He's the Alec Bohm of the Eagles.

Starting his rookie year, Elliott has missed 8, 7, 6, 7, 3, 5, 3, 9 and 8 kicks in each of the years of his career. Part of why it feels like he has been so bad the past two seasons is he was so good the prior three. He has certainly not been as proficient the past two years, and has had some bad cold streaks, but he is only 31 years old and I just don't think the sky is falling.

Wish the Eagles would've taken Emmanuel McNeil-Warren instead of Stowers.

I could see Eagles adding a TE before camp. That shouldn't be when you just took a TE in round 2. He's raw, but that was part of the reason why I wasn't huge on him in the first place.

They like him in the playoffs and are seeing his overall play through that lense probably. But 3 out of his last 6 years are poor. Including missing extra points. And not having a kicker who is more consistent from 50 and out is quite the handicap, comparatively speaking with top NFL teams. You cant even trot him out there for the occasional 60 yarder, realistically. His 40-49 yard range even dipped last year (7-10 for 70%). That should be closer to 85%. Plenty of kickers lose it by their early 30s. The trend with him is just looking awful. I think he's cooked.

He was the worst kicker in the NFL last season (not counting guys who got cut after a few games).

It has been two years now that his decline has been ongoing. This is who he is now as a kicker, a bad one.
