He should have told the NBA to piss off years ago vs letting them place someone in charge of the team who was incompetent. He shouldn't have let the stupid coach draft and then trade away a valuable piece for a project. He shouldn't have picked Brand to be GM and watch him let Butler walk while keeping Harris. He shouldn't have hired DM and he shouldn't have forced him into trading away a young player because he was a cheap you know what.Embiid deserves blame in this. He failed as well especially early in his career like the Toronto series where they likely win if he took better care of his body and himself. But like you said, their ownership (and front office) are much more to blame for the situation that they find themselves in. I can name about 60-70 different mistakes and bad decisions made by the owner/FO compared to their good decisions which might be a handful.Just a few of them:— drafting Noel—drafting okafor— drafting Simmons and not making him learn to shoot— trading up to no. 1—to then draft fultz— trading away bridges— giving Tobias a near max— not trading Tobias on a expiring contract— drafting TLC in the 1st round— paying Al Horford— trading for harden—giving PG a max— burner gate with big collar colangelo— selling "high” on McCain— releasing champagnie so mcclung could wear a sixers jersey in a dunk contest— getting rid of Isaiah Joe— giving Embiid an extension after hurting hitting his knee and not seeing what he’d be after that injury — hiring Glenn rivers (everyone knew he was an overrated coach)— allowing Brett brown and Elton brand with little to no experience run the franchise during a pivotal offseason then firing brown a year later— caved to the nba when they were on them about tanking with HinkieI have about 30-40 more i could add to this listHere are the good things they’ve done— embiid becoming an mvp— drafting Maxey— drafting VJ— signing JJ originally

Who the hell did the research on Simmons? Someone had to notice none of his teammates went to his birthday party 😁 Being serious nobody noticed his lack of a drive/passion to win/basketball?

I said at that time they were never gonna win anything with Embiid because they pissed away too many assets and you made way too many mistakes for you to overcome the decisions you made. We are so lucky that they actually hit on maxey (heck even getting that pick) and VJ. Because they could even be in a far worse spot without getting lucky those two years.

Innovative and big if true.He could be grinding and driven this offseason training for the upcoming year or he could be off shooting music videos with his girlfriend like Herbert. Funny though how you goof on Hurts for it but would be fawning over Hertbert if here here but shooting music videos during the offseason instead.

I would have loved depth and a starter or two who would be available to play in the post season, cap flexibility etc... I didnt need a Durant level star back in return. Just wanted him gone so we could actually possibly win. 6ers fans always overvalued Embiid, in denial that he would never deliver.

May 10May 10 A lot of blame on Joel Embiid going around here and rightfully so but here’s something Sixers fans don’t wanna hear Tyrese Maxey comes up small in playoffs. This team needs to be gutted and start from scratch.

There was no reason to give it to him. He was coming off a knee injury. We didn’t know what he was gonna look like when he came back. they did it anyways. Even if you just let him play out the rest of his contract prior to that, and let him walk away you would’ve cleared cap space. Which didnt trade him and get value but at least you aren’t stuck with him and his massive extension. Now you’re tied up to him on the decline for 3 years unless you are willing to put picks along with him and take on bad contract with likely 2 years left on them as well.
May 10May 10 At least the flyers went down swinging, even without tippett and cates for half the series

They can't trade him and they can't make him healthy so what are Sixers fans to do other than to cross their fingers?Nothing they can do about it?? Embiid sat out two playoff games in their series against the Raptors because he had a sore tummy, and the world watched Kawhi Leonard carry a bunch of scrubs on his back all the way to win an NBA championship. The Raptors, ffs!!Embiid needed to be gone at exactly the same moment that rainbow jump shot bounced in after rattling the rim six times. It was obvious he was an albatross who would weigh down the Sixers franchise. They could have gotten real value for him if they’d jettisoned him when it was appropriate to do so.

Seth curry was the second best player in that series. Imo that’s laughable and horrible roster construction. Don’t wanna hear about Tobias Harris now is playing well now. Tobias Harris is playing well cause he’s not given a massive max type contract and having to live up to it. It’s much easier when you are getting paid 60% of that in Detroit.Imo i wouldn’t have given him the extension (was gross negligence and idiotic) but whoever’s bright idea was giving Harris a near max contract and paying al Horford along with dealing bridges previous offseason deserves to never work in the nba again. that 2020-21 team might have actually won something if Seth curry wasn’t the second best player in that hawks series.

They routinely just give out bad contracts. That has been a story of the Sixers since the process started. Horford‘s contract was bad. Ben Simmons contract was bad. Tobias Harris contract was bad. PG is a bad contract that they forced themselves into as they were always extending Embiid and thought it was only way to maximize the rest of his career. They routinely just give out bad contracts. There’s others i haven’t mentioned that weren’t as bad but still hurt
May 10May 10 whos bright idea was it to deal Jimmy Butler instead of Harris - I was living out west as the time and wasn't really in the loop

Could only have one or the other. Take it for what it’s worth. they also knew he was gone already to Miami. That was the offseason where Harris allowed Elton brand and Brett brown to run the show. Got triple whammy of contracts in Al Horford, Harris and Simmons rookie extension

Got triple whammy of contracts in Al Horford, Harris and Simmons rookie extensionIts been portrayed as choosing Harris over Butler, but I have always felt it was Simmons over Butler. It was obvious they were going to extend Harris after the big trade. But I had been saying Simmons was terrible for a few years, and I think a lot of fans were actually coming around on that at the time as well. But he was always Brett Brown's boy. They could have kept Harris, and Butler and let Simmons go. They were already letting Butler play a lot of 1 man because Simmons sucked at it.Also, while Harris was a bad contract, people always neglected to acknowledge that he got less than the max, so I never felt it was as bad as people made it out to be.I eventually came around on moving on from Harris too, but I also think people didnt recognize his improvement on defense while with the 6ers and many times seemed like he defended an rebounded well even if he didnt give us the scoring we expected from him. There was also the story about how Butler overheard Brown saying " are we sure we can handle Jimmy Butler" calling him a bad attitude player which insulted Butler. So the story that they never offered him a contract tracks with actual reports. Brett Brown was afraid of his personality (even though he looked like a model teammate with that squad, and the vibes were high), and loved Ben Simmons.
