The issue would be Vrabel's - if there were proof he asked her to put out false info in an attempt to chill the trade market. Intent matters.

The more intriguing part of this is - Russini basically has nothing left to lose. She can never credibly report on the NFL again for a real organization. So, at what point does she go scorched earth/scorned woman and sit down for a tell all interview. There are rumors of others (Washington GM, McVay). Her doing some kind of tell all interview right before the season is a nightmare scenario for the NFL.

Agreed.

Let’s do that. lol

McKee could get a good return in a trade, which makes Dalton the sure #2 QB and the newby as #3. Ringo and Calcaterra are almost certain off the roster. AJ will soon depart.

With all the additions recently, there are competitions in every group. Not sure how they are going to sort things out. Cutting some good ones would seem wasteful, but necessary in the name of competition.

They may never find the right trade partner for Mckee, but it does feel like they brought Dalton in for the optionality to trade Mckee should the opportunity present itself.

Recently had this convo with a friend…

Top 5 athletes of your lifetime. I don’t remember anything before the early 90s so I’m starting there.

Mine…

  1. Michael Jordan (easy number 1)

  2. Tiger Woods

  3. Serena Williams

  4. Michael Phelps

  5. Barry Bonds

Honorable mentions were Tom Brady, Usain Bolt, and Messi. Can probably throw Federer in there.

Short career because of that injury but Bo Jackson should be on that list.

Honestly he probably still is the best athlete I've ever seen. Certainly not the best career but he was dominant in two major sports.

What is a good return in your mind. In mine, he likely brings back a 5th, maybe a 4th. Like him, but he is a borderline bottom if the league starter for me. Zero mobility, not accurate on the move, a real liability on the move, actually. Don't see how he could bring back a day 2 pick.

I had a dream last night that the Eagles traded AJ Brown to the Patriots without Mike Vrabel because he stepped down for the 2026 season, and midway through the season the Patriots were a disaster and AJ Brown was visibly frustrated all during the season and then Adam Schefter reported that AJ Brown wanted to get traded back to the Eagles.

It’s a real discussion after this season. His 2022 and 2024 buy him that much.

I literally LOLed when I read Allen Ivermectin

Briere has his work cut out for him this off-season and needs some difficult decisions:

-He needs to do whatever it takes within reason to get a legit first line center. IF there is any chance in hell that rumors are true and McDavid and/or Matthews will be asking for trades Briere has to get involved. Dvorak, Cates, and Couturier are all perfectly fine number 3 centers and if they choose to keep Zegras at center he is a perfectly fine number 2. They aren't going anywhere in the playoffs without a number 1 center though.

-The defense needs an upgrade. Sanheim has developed into a really good number 2 defenseman. Drysdale is developing into a really good number 3 or 4 type defenseman. Beyond that the defense needs major work. Despite a good playoff they should trade Risto while his value is high. I would also look to package York and another player to upgrade the defense as he is about as average as it gets. This position needs work.

-The Michkov of it all. If they can get a McDavid or Matthews obviously anyone and everyone is available which means Michkov. That being said if not, if this rebuild is going to reach contender status they need this guy to work out. He had a great rookie season and Torts of all people let him play his game and be the highly skilled offensive player he is. Tocchet tried to make him a 3rd line checking winger which is never going to work. Michkov for his part in things showed up to camp out of shape. Everyone involved needs to get this figured out because the kid is too talented to be getting healthy scratched in the playoffs for a guy in Luchanko who had 7 goals in 38 OHL games in his draft plus two season.

-FIX the FN PP. I don't even mean top 10 in the league. Hell I don't even mean top 15. If this PP could just be around 20th best in the league as opposed to dead last it would make a huge difference. They went to OT twice in four games against Carolina. If the PP is just mid they could have easily won both of those games. Do they need more talent, yes. This goes way beyond talent though as there is no world where a team like them who can get into the playoffs and win a round should have the worst PP in the league. I don't have the answer here but Briere gets paid a lot of money to have said answers so he needs to get it figured out.

This summer's group of free agents absolutely sucks. That said the Flyers have like 40 million in cap space so its up to Briere to get creative and make some tough decisions with trades and possibly offer sheets for restricted free agents. It's going to be very interesting to see what he does.

No way. Could probably list 50 athletes ahead of him. I’m looking at accomplishments and impact on society, not "what ifs”. And I mean no disrespect towards him. He was obviously a tremendous athlete

I had a dream that AJ Brown was still a #1 Wide Receiver in the NFL. Not sure if it's this year or next. But he's going down in flames and will "fade into Bolivion." Quoting the great Mike Tyson...

We almost always bring in 4 legit contenders for 3 roster spots. Usually a mid/late round draft pick, a young guy, a veteran, and the starter.

If all goes as expected we try to move the rookie to the practice squad. But if there is ever an injury we are still 3 deep. And if a trade opportunity presents itself we can pull the trigger and still have depth.

I expect an active trade market with the surplus of wings and cap space. I would trade Konecny, York and Risto personally. Keep Michkov for sure. Try to trade Coots, if you can while his value should be as high as it's been in a few years. Was an albatross and untradable for awhile. May have to retain some money in that deal. Also, ditch Embiid & George. 😉 And that works for me for a successful Philly offseason.

Yeah the guy sucks. We only went to the playoffs for the 5th straight time and won the division back to back for the first time in over 20 years this past season.

Just wait for Cole Payton's first 10 yard spiral pass catch to Darius Cooper in the Preseason. The haters will be drooling on this new piece of meat. Can't wait!

Off topic - former South Carolina QB Stephen Garcia announced last Thursday on social media saying he has Stage 4 Colorectal cancer @ per ESPN

Garcia was the Gamecocks QB from 2008 - 2011. His Go Fund Me has raised close to $150,000 and he said he will be starting chemo this coming Wednesday.

Wow.
