They basically looked at their 2027 7th round pick, crumpled it up and threw it in the trash.

I’m not sure when or where they crossed paths but that was my guess.
August 24Aug 24 Wonder if Foles still got it? Bring him in for a tryout and sign him as QB 3. Make Lemonade give him #9 back

In essence, he's an experienced voice in the QB room who could help Hurts understand things better. Even still, I never thought the trade made sense. McKee didn't help himself last year, but I'd still bet that he'd perform much better with the starting offense than would Dalton.

If anything the young guys seem to be doing better. Of course it's early. It wouldn't surprise me if Stoutland got a little stale in the role post SB win - no harm in that at all, a human reaction. The OL dogs seem to be hungry again and are running faster.

Secondary definitely could use depth upgrades. Especially if you don’t believe in Jonathan Jones and/or McWilliamsI suspect they will play Mundt at the in line Y and let DG play the F where he will be less Prone to injury…hopefully…and can teach Stowers
August 24Aug 24 Ty Robinson had a good game ,but he needs to learn a lesson from loitering around a pile while the play isn't whistled dead. A Pats OL took a decent shot at him early on when he was admiring a tackle - John Runyan (the player) would have approved of that shot.
August 24Aug 24 Bell made enormous progress in his run blocking. Instead of reaching he was striking his target. Kept his head up too and exploded through his knees and hips. There was some good coaching and mentoring there and he absorbed it. Very encouraging.

They have a QB coach. I don't think they brought in a backup veteran QB to teach. Howie just likes to collect backup QBs. He brought in Pickett, Flacco and others over the years.

August 24Aug 24 I like Zion Wilson as a better developmental DT than Uar Bernard. You know Bernard's story and Wilson is two years older but Wilson has only played DT for one year. He played very well against the Pats. Watch the tape. Some bottom feeder team will claim him on waivers.
August 24Aug 24 I consider Jake Elliott a sunk cost. Howie is not afraid of dead cap hits, as demonstated with AJ Brown. And we are still taking a dead cap hit of $7M for James Bradberry this season, who's been off the team for over 2 years. If a guy stinks, he stinks. Already put up with this carcass for 2 straight bad years. A new kicker will cost you a million or so. Not getting that logic, based on what we've seen Howie do in past with eating dead cap space. The guy still has to perform to a certain standard. Ranked 32nd last year in NFL. I am scouring the waiver wire this Sunday and at minimum signing someone to the practice squad.

And of course, injuries. Although listed, I agree with Franklin that they may carry their long-snapper on the PS at first. Yes, 10 OL - I believe Lampkin and Morris have more upside than Majors and Jordan. The choices among Ringo/Mondon/Latu would be special teams influenced.Updated after two games. Significant changes in bold. Lots of tough choices. Putting Covey and Underwood on the PS. Couldn't find room for Hall or Wilson at DT. Maybe they waive Calcaterra to save one. We are going to lose a couple guys next Monday through waivers.
