I really don't get the fascination with trading Big Fred. Bell is a rookie, and Lane and Mailata have both missed games the last couple of years (Mailata had an IR stint in 2024, Lane last year). We have basically zero at tackle behind Fred and Bell - Williams isn't ready.

I'd be flat out SHOCKED if they traded Fred - it's not like you'd get much for him. We saw how bad the Matt Pryor at RT experiment was last year.

Yeah, I don't get get it at all. Hopefully, they learned their lesson last year, and we saw how valuable OL depth is in the SB when the Chiefs were depleted. Teams are already losing guys and like you said Lane and Jordan have both missed games. It's baffling how people want to risk having Williams be the next guy off the bench. Dump one of the CBs or TEs who shouldn't be on the roster anyway.

I am a Fred Johnson fan, but may not be a fit for this system (looked meh in TC) and is no spring chicken at this point. He actually grades out pretty low the last 2 years. But we are so used to trash like Driscoll at RT, that he looks great. If we are waiving a 22 year old Cameron Williams to keep Fred Johnson, then it's a hell no! Also, Bell is way ahead of schedule and is the 1st swing tackle off bench at this point. I do like Fred as an extra TE. But don't know if Mannion is implementing that look.

We usually agree on things, but we really part on this one. Grades out pretty low? The guy started big games the SB year and looked good. He was fine last year for a backup. Middle ground would be cutting one of the horrible TEs or CBs and keeping them both. I'm not looking to get rid of Williams because he might have potential down the line, but there is a reason they traded for Johnson after letting him walk. You end up with Pryor which I think we can all agree is a major hell no.

How bad does your game have to be as a billionaire to pay for hookers?

There’s a substation joke here somewhere guys , we’ll find it

Pretty sure all billionaires are using hookers.

Some fans think fantasy football and having to constantly make moves. A couple years ago a bunch of people wanted to trade a corner after they drafted Q & DeJean and a year later Rodgers left and Ringo sucked and CB2 was awful.

People have suggested trading away a LB, a position we finally are strong in and have depth. I've even seen ideas to trade a WR...yet there's concerns about this group.

Then injuries happen and the fans complain about depth. 🤣

IMO, the most encouraging thing going on is the superiority of our lines. It will serve us well as the new offense shakes out.

Below are PFF's preseason rankings. I know there are some that summarily dismiss PFF because of the occasional headscratcher. But overall, they provide directionally sound analytics.

We are the only franchise in the top-5 on both lists. And the Broncos are the only other team in the top-ten on both lists.

Oh I think it's beyond that. He has the money for multi thousand dollar escorts, I think his porn searches are full of "toothless hillbilly getting banged under an overpass"

Jed likes it dirty.

They have a plethora of young talent and thinking down the line here. They may keep 11, with or without him. If Bell is indeed ready to go as 1st swing tackle off the bench, then I like keeping these young guys around and developing them. Lot of turnover coming with this offensive line and preparing for that event. I do like Johnson more for this year only, but at the expense of what? Will trust the new coaching staff on this one and what they see in fit and long term evaluations. Pulled up Fred's stats just for fun last year. Its below average. Not terrible. The year before was worse. So I don't know what to make of all that. I'm good if they keep him too.

626 offensive snaps, earning a 58.5 overall Pro Football Focus grade, allowing 18 total pressures (including 2 sacks), and committing 5 penalties.

On some level, everyone is a hooker to the billionaire.

Um...huh? You take the charge, then you need to resign Jake to a new contract. So it adds even more to the cap.

There's no shuffling - you just take the hit and then need to spend even more to either resign Jake or another kicker.

Yes, but the more is minimal compared to the Cap amount.

It's still early, but if the new O linemen are developing well, new O line coach Kuper has to get some credit. Replacing Stout was a big concern.

The Guardian cap always makes me chuckle no matter who is wearing it...especially Doubs, he looks like a 2nd grader playing pee wee ball and I am expecting him to fall forward on his face.

I think his grading point is that the Mannion Offensive scheme requires movement attributes tha Fred is not strong on.

Yes, in this new system, lateral movement is key. Not his strong suit. Gonna trust the coaches in evaluating attributes and fit.

Plenty of dudes who can get laid pay for hookers for various reasons. As evidenced by Jed York’s apparent taste in such women*.
