That might be true about kempski and BLG, but I really wouldn’t be all that shocked if he is inactive on game days. He’s very unlikely to be out there when they try to run the football cause he can’t block. if he’s still struggling to get the offense down and not using him on special teams, then really you’re activating a third tight end to maybe a handful of snaps? Don’t get me wrong I think at some point this season he will be active and he’ll play more. But I can totally see them for the first month maybe even two months with him being inactive on game days

Well, yeah. People post how rookies look in camp. It's just what it is. It's only when reporters post what fans don't want to hear when they take issue with it.

If Stowers was dominating camp and just put up 10 catches for 180 yards in a preseason game and Kemspki posted "Eli Stowers looks absolutely amazing" no one would be saying "Shut up, Jimmy, it's only preseason." In fact, if someone did say that, everyone else would tell them to STFU and stop being negative about the player.

Of course you can't decide on a player after their first camp. But everyone knows this. No one has written Stowers off yet. I wasn't a fan of the pick and didn't love it when they made it, but I still can't say for sure he will be a bust. No one knows. Doesn't mean you can't have takes on players though as they play.

That may be true, but it may also be true what they are reporting. Higher chance he’s going to be inactive on game days. He has not looked very good in training camps or preseason. And he didn’t looked good in minicamps. And we know he can’t block. So I don’t think this is any revelation by them which goes to your point. But they probably are correct on it.

5 positions I'd like to see Howie tweak after cutdown day. To add depth whether it's on the PS or 53 man roster. Ranked in priority.

1) CB- (Jones may not be it and has been injured & Ringo certainly isn't it. Bennett is a walking yellow flag).

2) Safety- (Like Gush, but could use another vet here).

3) TE- (someone who is an upgrade from GC fallback on practice squad when Goedert tumbles).

4) OL-Tackle- (A vet and good scheme fit to round out young 2nd unit of talented guys we have here. Think Freddie is gone and Cameron is on thin ice, but would love to keep in house for further development).

5) Kicker-(This would be at number 1, but don't see Elliott being replaced here til he costs them a game outright. So want a guy in reserve on the PS to start season).

Stowers can’t block at all and doesn’t even run good routes. Why would it be a surprise that he’s a gameday inactive? He looks like dog crap and needs a crazy amount of development, which surprisingly extends to his receiving skills.

I do think they want people to read and engage however stowers can’t block, looked bad in receiving routes and imo not nfl game ready. So what they are saying highly likely correct

The guess here is that Stowers is swimming mentally, trying to learn an offense while acclimating to the speed of the NFL. He's thinking, and not just playing. The hope is that in time he will catch up mentally and begin playing fast.

But for now, Stowers is unplayable, and likely to be a gameday inactive. He is also currently on the shelf with a hamstring injury.

I've been asked if Stowers could potentially be a "redshirt" IR candidate, but I don't see that. The team used a valuable second-round draft resource on him, so they're going to want to give him every opportunity to get better during the season. If he's on IR, he won't be able to practice with the team.

Maybe the light will come on for Stowers at some point during the season, but I think the more realistic hope is that he's a positive contributor in 2027 and beyond.

The whole article was a rookie report card talking about every rookie and how they have been in camp so far. It's not like they are putting hit pieces out there on Eli Stowers.

Really no hit piece to be made. We’ve all seen stowers draft report (was always a developmental work in progress) and what he’s done in camps. It is what it is. Hope he develops as the season moves along and is ready in 2027 for a bigger role. That said the eagles shouldnt just assume he’s going to make that jump in 2027 if his progress is minimal. I’m guessing there’s a chance we spend a high round pick on a TE again

They have to create content it's their jobs. And Stowers being inactive for a bit seems likely anyway. For me the annoying part is faux outrage over every pick or FA that doesn't pan out immediately. I was super critical of Howie in his early days but he's done a great job since he took back over. There will be moves that don't work out. It's the quality of the overall team that's important. 'They should have took' gets old to me real fast. They don't take every player I want in every slot but I move on after the pick is made.

Yeah, but truthfully, how good of a camp did he have with the Jaguars last year? He was obviously a disappointment with them after they had signed him to push for a starting job. They traded him to us for a late round pick, so clearly he struggled. And then played well here.

I suspect he’s just someone who plays better when he’s thrust into actual game action. I think he’s proven enough over a couple years here to trust him to do an acceptable job. I really don’t think he’s at risk.

It's been all summer long with them and fans on here. I can't remember this level of hate towards a guy who never played a snap during the regular season. He was drafted in the 2nd round but also as a project. It's not the first and it won't be the last from the lemmings who crave negativity because they are no talent a-clowns

I’d say he had less risk if we were running the same offense as before and with stoutland. But since we’re running a completely new scheme if he’s struggling and he doesn’t really fit into that scheme or they don’t think he does I think he’s more of a risk for that to happen.

Fred got a 700k signing bonus and 800k guaranteed (100k roster bonus). His base salary of $1.3 million isn't guaranteed, but if the hope was to get him to the PS, you'd have to resign him to a ~400k salary if he was willing to do that. But he's likely to get claimed by someone for a minimum salary of $1.3mm, and you're just left with $800k cap hit.

Ojukwu only has $25k guaranteed. He's also more likely to make it through waivers, IMO.

Assuming we want 2 backup tackles on the 53, I think it's very likely Fred stays and Ojukwu goes to the PS.

I understand that Stowers was a 2nd round pick but maybe that is the philosophy they are using with him.

I think we need to trust the system that they have been using over the years. Howie has been developing and putting together some great rosters

The crazy hype that Eagles beat reporters had collectively for about a week there earlier this month when he will be at the bottom of the depth chart l, and I can't rule out being cut, makes him the ideal Nasty Nate.
