Time will tell if general manager Howie Roseman makes an additional move at safety, which is widely considered the thinnest position on the Eagles roster. But for now, the job is Epps’ — which "means everything” to him.

Those two are great for depth, but I'd love for Howie to make a trade for a legit starter.

If the Eagles defense was really good last year….and they added a player in the offseason who was arguably the most talented player on the whole defense…and 5 of 11 starters were inarguably on the upslope of their career…and the defense looked really good in camp….

Would you have any expectations of them not being good this year?

This offense will be night and day better than last year's shidd show. I mean it is a low bar. On another note, Hurts had several turnovers just trying to force feed the diva after the hissy fits all year.

Why? Because as their personnel continues to decline, the genius of their 5th choice OC will carry the day?

I genuinely feel bad for Hurts, who I’m usually criticizing. He’s got an OL that probably won’t put him or Barkley in a good position this year and he’s got a group of pass catchers that aren’t scaring anyone.

Better group of WRs. Devanta as your undeniable number 1 is an immediate upgrade. No one more clutch! All other WRs will have their roles. Wicks is good for the running game and actually blocks. I like our #2 TE Mundt much better than GC in the run blocking department. Healthier OL with great depth when the inevitable injuries occur. Expect Kendall to take over LG by end of year. Dont think LD holds up in this scheme.

Offense will be more unpredictable and imaginative. Will be way less 3 & outs with getting short chunks, whereby the defense doesn't get laid out on the field. So this will benefit the team as a whole. It was feast or famine last year with the diva and trying to hit the homerun and coming up short, as he couldnt beat anyone one on one. Were running a high school offense last year? So not totally his fault. Defense knew exactly what was coming. Pathetic and shameful!

The OZ should benefit Barkley with his one cut running style. And he will be back to making some big explosive plays. Expect a lot more of Tank as well. He was a beast when he played last year, even behind a shiddy broken down OL. This offense is much more multifaceted and isn't a 2 man show anymore. Ball will be spreading out to everyone and will have players engaged and playing hard. Of course, i don't expect this to materialize over night. But I expect right away to see improvements from last year in different areas of the offense. And do expect more Hurts involvement in running game with bootlegs and play action. This will be much more entertaining to watch as well.

Every team would have their bye that week, so no one is screwed by an early bye or benefiting from a late bye. NFL makes more TV money because all teams play every weekend before and after the bye

In terms of the timing they might drop the pro bowl festivities into a dead month like June… they’ve kind of done this with free agency, the combine and the draft where there’s generally something to engage with all year.

I’m surprised they haven’t done the 2nd bye already, as it would extend the season another week ($) without the labor hassle.

Wow you are a dark cloud. Their 2nd string OL has been almost dominant and your mind leads you to the starters will suck 🤣

On paper thst defense has more talent than the dominant SB one. The offense is arguably more talented than last year, they have good OL depth, and what appears to be a smart OC. It may take a few weeks so you'll get to be negative, which it sounds like you will enjoy, but they are going to be good.

Vic is the closest thing to a straight shooter we have, and he seems to genuinely like Epps and Carter. Never say never, if the right guy is out there, they might make a move. But I’d think a small move at TE or WR (6’2+) is way, way more likely.

I’ve seen more of a plan from Sean Mannion in 2 preseason games he’s not even game planning for than I saw from Patullo all last year. Route concepts that actually -gasp- make sense.

(wouldnt hate if they kept the Goedert RZ stuff though, that was nice)

It's going to take weeks to get that identity and that's fine.

I think they’ll be able to run early but the passing game is so different and most of the receivers are different that it will take a while.

Patullo is genuinely one of the worst OCs I've seen on this team in a very long time.

There are many legitimate criticisms of Wicks in his career so far, but separation isn't one of them.

If you spin a narrative that focuses only on the negative aspects and ignores the positive aspects, how can you feel positive about anything?

I suspect he’s just someone who plays better when he’s thrust into actual game action. I think he’s proven enough over a couple years here to trust him to do an acceptable job. I really don’t think he’s at risk.

Worth pointing out the Jags changed FO and HC last season, plus they drafted Tuten. Bigsby, for various reasons, became expendable.

Worth watching if this perpetuates into the season for the Gints. Skatteboo's act has worn thin with half of the roster already

How on paper does this defense have more talent than the Super Bowl one from 24? It’s not at safety or edge rusher. Is Woolen an upgrade over Slay from that season? We’ll see and i hope I’m wrong, but I think we have ourselves a 10 win team and are fortunate to be in a weak division

Did someone wake up grumpy today? Man, that is a whole lot of negativity. I honestly have no clue what their record will be or how the team will do, that's why I enjoy watching. But to go into a season saying they will be lucky to get 10 wins, with this team's history over the last 26 years, with this roster is well, really negative. You would have made a great fan back in the 80's and 90's when playoffs were a prayer!
