Slightly bummed about Williams. The rest - who cares. Impressive 4 guys claimed, and we thought the depth sucked.

Hope Weru comes back too.

I cant find the tweet but the Eagles were the only team that had 4. Next was Chiefs? I think with 3

Good call by Howie on Bernard and Weru clearing waivers. PS is ideal for them. Gamble paid off (assuming Weru signs).

Look for both Bernard and Weru to return, but only one gets IPP status - meaning protected for the entire season.

Not protected, just means the IPP spot, which doesn’t count against the 16 player PS limit.

Like it. He flashed a little in the last game. Bummer he was hurt all camp.

Surprised by Bernard instead of Weru

So Bernard, Weru, and Steele all cleared waivers. LOL! That’s funny and not surprising either.

I'll admit I was worried. It's a copycat league. Figured someone would snag them just to see if they could get someone like Mailata

No. There is no protection anymore.

What am I misunderstanding?

At the end of training camp, IPP players can either be signed to their assigned club’s 53-man roster or waived. Players who clear waivers may be signed to their assigned team’s practice squad using an IPP exemption that allows for an extra practice squad spot. IPP players signed to a practice squad using the exemption may not be signed to any team’s active roster that season; however, players signed to a practice squad without the exemption are treated in the same way as other practice squad players for roster purposes.

I was shocked anyone thought a team was going to claim them. They literally don't know much at all. I mean, I'd rather have APR back then put one of them on the 53. You know, like someone who actually knows football and has played football.

This year:

Better running game: likely

OZ better for SB, Healthier line & Tank heavier usage which will keep SB fresh and tire defenses.

Better short passing game: likely

New OC with emphasis on middle of field and short passing game. RBs involved more in passing game, Lemon better in the slot than Dotson, RAC potential with Wicks, is a nice upgrade from AJ, as we know he will be running harder than the quitter.

Better long passing game: likely

AJ was slooooow last year. Like Hollywood to catch a few and Devanta to get more looks

Better vs. the run: likely

Carter healthy, Davis a monster, Smith (healthier) and Greenard good at setting edge

Better vs. the pass: likely

Again, healthier Carter, Hunt Advancement, a full year of Greenard, as opposed to half year of Phillips. Ojomo takes next step. And Depth improved on the edge. Woolen, a big upgrade from Adoree and should be a ballhawk creating key turnovers, that this secondary sorely lacks since CJGJ.

Better kicking: Can it be worse? Will see. Ha.

Better coaching: Can it be worse? Will see again. Ha Ha

Eagles: 13-4 Win division

Last year 11-6/that is with conceding final game.

This team is better on paper than last year overall. Better depth on both OL & DL. And like the different roles with this WR group. Just fits better. And the offensive coaching and imagination from Mannion will be worlds apart. On another note, strength of schedule this year is 8th. Last year was 4th. Cheers!

Interesting — I thought players could be claimed off other teams PS at any point. Is that an old rule that got changed or something?

I think the 2026 nasty nate has to be the Eagles message board. The Eagles trolled us all, by not playing anyone but the bottom of the roster all preseason, so people got attached to people who normally would be in street clothes. Lot of people here were attached to the 5th RB, the 9th or 10th DE and the 11th/12th linemen.

Who knows, if the court systems win, maybe we can watch them all go back and play college ball again.

From what I saw 29 total claimed. Miami claimed 5 or 6 I think

I still don’t get this roster construction. 4 QBs and 4 TEs with weak depth over some of the other guys is really odd. Will it batter probably not but I don’t see the logic

I gave on understanding QBs. But it is the most important position.

As for TE, Stowers is injured and didn't show that he is playable. So they decided to keep Jenkins rather that risk him signing elsewhere. Same goes for keeping Moore as a backup for Lemon.

Pretty sure they are signed not claimed so the player has to agree whoch gives their current team the option to sign to 53 to prevent the poach

Folks talk about Weru and Bernard like they’re the same person. Weru is a prep school kid who frequently traveled internationally and played rugby at a high level. His cultural integration and functional athleticism are on a completely different level than Bernard’s, who didn’t really even play organized sports and grew up in a small village. The fact that Bernard put ANYTHING halfway decent on film is a testament to just how freaky his strength and explosiveness are (and the usefulness of 36 inch arms).

He started playing basketball at 16.

Miami had to know when they claimed seven players that they had to have a list of seven cuts.
