Do we like Boutte? (for mature posters only)

I've seen him mentioned as a possibility in this trade.

No. He’d be behind Smith, Lemon and Wicks and be WR4 (at best) if he’s not losing snaps to Hollywood Brown, and he’s a 2027 UFA. They already gave Wicks $12.5M and, coincidentally, that’s Spotrac’s market value as a UFA after the season.

Is he going to show enough (or anything) to make anyone think he’s worth that as a re-sign? He’s not needed here on the current depth chart. Bring back a young roster player at a position where he can compete and contribute.

Phillies hitters swing at everything. Not one guy can work a count.

I do, I think he is a nice player to have and deepens that room. Not that I am demanding him, but if they are looking to off load him, sure I'd take him. Still on his rookie contract too.

Crazy. Seems like they can get one or two guys to try for a bit and then they all go right back to it.

Where can i get odds on when the Eagles make that 2028 1st round pick that AJ Brown isn’t in the Patriots roster? I’d throw 20 bucks on that.

They will trade any pick they get in this deal next draft to move to get our next franchise QB

I think they still have hopes for Wilson as well. Boutte would be a waste to include in the trade unless you banking on trading him this year for extra draft capital

Figures the June 1st starting bell is 4pm. Howie is going to overshadow my baseball state playoff game with AJ Brown news.

I think this is one of those guys I'd hate even if he was on the eagles..like Sid Crosby if he was on the Flyers.

Did you not like him the whole time he was here or just last year? Consider he is easily a top 3 WR in our history and was a major factor in how we became a dominant team, i'd assume you loved this guy 2022, 2023, 2024 seasons...

Unless you just became a fan last year.

His nonsense last year really tarnished his reputation for me.

No worries he won't last long in the league

Also I think this stuff is stupid

Howie vs the Patriots energy

We can’t let WIP get away with this…

Not sure what sources he still has but a Zach Berman retweet is a co-sign

I know a lot of people here don’t like Banner, but I’ve very much enjoyed his post-career football tidbits

If he says it’s done, his conjecture is more valuable than most

@LeanMeanGM also sorry about the blank ping, this site is horrible on mobile

2027 draft seems like it's going to be very good. 2028 seems more like a roll of the dice gamble

He can't take the impending heat.

Lol, what a clown. Does nothing but run his mouth for over a year, quits on his team, and then when things are about to go down runs and hides.

You also thought Eagles weren't going to trade AJ and were one of the very last people to finally accept reality.

Yep. I argued with that clown throughout the season as he insisted that Brown didn't want out, wasn't getting traded, and the whole thing was made up by WIP. Now he is going to pretend like that never happened. There's a reason he is the laughing stock of the blog.

We will get a pick in the 2027 draft along with the 2028 1st for AJ.

I was hoping for that as well. Nobody else wanted him though and Howie getting a 2028 first for him with zero leverage isn't bad.

If we only get a 2028 first Howie made a bad deal and should have just kept him. Theres gotta be more.

I know you are probably shocked but I couldn't disagree more. They traded a first and third for him. Got four prime years out of him, two SB appearances, and one SB win. Getting a first round pick for him (especially since he wants out and the Pats and Rams were the only teams who were serious about trading for him ) is just gravy.

Thats one way to look at it. Its like buying an expensive car, driving it a few years, and selling it for nearly as much as you bought it for. So in the end you can say you owned a corvette for only 5,ooo dollars for instance. Thats nice. But if the market dictates that your corvette actually appreciated and you sell it for less than you paid for, you havent maximized the value. So, thats the negative aspect which exists as well.

In this case, AJ isnt worth more than we paid initially, but you should be able to get more than just a future 1st. I see no reason to accept less than his value. The price for Waddle dictates that AJ Brown is unquestionably worth more than just 1 future 1st and nothing else.
