It seems like receivers lose it pretty fast around 30 years old these days. I wouldn't be extending receivers much past that.

DeVonta is a guy who should be able to be remain a very productive WR into his mid 30s. He isn't a player who depends on a level of physicality or elite speed to be effective. He's a WR with elite hands, route running and body control with an insane level of concentration.

I guess he's suggesting he could be part of the trade.

Doesn't believe the talk that AJ Brown prefers to be traded because of his personal relationship with Hurts is fair. He thinks the on the field stuff and his lack of confidence in Hurts as a QB is fair and that's a big part of it as well as him just not liking the offense, but their personal relationship is in a good place.

Hurts made a point to get together with AJ Brown during the season and hash out their differences. AJ Brown was resistant to it at first but eventually relent and they got on the same page.

Thinks they'll get a 1st for Brown and it will go down Monday or Tuesday.

In 2024 Kellen Moore and Sirianni had to scrap some of the things they wanted to do because Hurts wasn't picking it up well so it will be interesting to see how Hurts picks up this offense but believes he's putting a ton of work in to master it.

So far in the small sample they've seen in OTAs the offense definitely looks as different as advertised. A lot more under center and motion.

Eagles players talked about how different even the blocking schemes are so it's going to be a big adjustment for all of them and it's going to take a while to mesh.

Believes the outside zone scheme can get more mileage and production out of Barkley going forward.

Notable how comfortable the Eagles already are with Bell that Bell was taking RT snaps when Lane missed practice.

Small sample, but thought Makai Lemon looked the part.

He mentioned a story about how in 2012 when the Eagles drafted Marvin McNutt he was watching him during practice and McNutt looked terrible he couldn't even get off the line and he went to an Eagles coach and mentioned that McNutt looked terrible and the coach was like "Yep he does."

Interesting that Dalton was taking QB2 snaps. Doesn't think a trade is imminent, thinks it's more of a situation where the Eagles want to be prepared if another team's QB goes down and come calling for McKee. But said Dalton looked absolutely terrible in the OTAs(he isn't the only person I heard say this)

The bolded part is huge, if it's true. Work ethic is one of of the biggest positives for Hurts when discussions come up of how great he is, and I'm glad he has a strong work ethic. But just because someone works hard doesn’t mean they're going to be great. It was very obvious early that season that something was off, which ended with the O line telling the coaches they needed to run more which obviously worked.

I don't believe this was a problem last year. The problem was Patullo's 5th grade offense, Sirianni enabling him, and both idiots' abject failure to force dickerson and jurgens to sit when they were killing the team playing injured.

Watching the Patriots in the Super Bowl made me really want a Patriots offensive lineman.

I think Smitty will age well, he doesn't rely on speed or strength to win his routes. Smitty is a technician, you can win with crisp routes for a good while even if it means having to move inside near the end.

No, that they’re clearing money

He’d be wrong. The revised deal was a $7M signing bonus. Why would the Patriots pay that just to trade him a few days later?

If anything they are making space to take on Browns contract.

How soon/long after the trade goes down do we get the first story detailing what initially triggered the personal split with AJ and Hurts years ago and who do we get it from? A local beat or a national guy?

I think it drops within 1-2 weeks of the trade, possibly within days of the trade (and thus also within days of this post).

You see Shady and Jackson talking about Chip Kelly earlier this year? Id expect it to take about that long. Once one or both are retired for a few years and end up on a podcast.

Didn't take long at all for stories you know came from the Eagles organization about Wentz after got his wish and was traded to the Colts. Same with other players and really coaches too. I'm not saying AJ is saying anything in an interview or anything but the first report about what happened behind the scenes and then people can piece together where that story came from due to player/agency/organization ties to certain reporters and how the article is slanted.

AJ got a new deal less than a month after DeVonta. AJ's ego couldn't have Devonta getting a new deal without AJ getting a raise.

Eagles gave him new deal 4 year deal when they traded him less than 2 years earlier. DeVonta gets a new deal on April 15th and 10 days later AJ gets a new deal less than 2 years after he signed his new 4 year deal with the Eagles after the trade.

There is likely already an ESPN article with unnamed sources written and ready to go. There will be others. They milked this trade story for a year, they'll milk the drama stories just as long.

Also these days people go on podcasts years later and share some tiny detail to get attention. There will likely be stuff coming out in small doses for years.

Some players talked about Wentz years later for example.

Are we gonna wake up tomorrow to a megadeal?

Doubt it comes until the afternoon while the Eagles wait for a last minute team to sweep in.

Does "post June 1st" mean June 1st or June 2nd?

4:01pm on June 1st is when it flips and they can make the move officially
