I think you gotta give it at least three weeks before you can make that decision. I mean, if he’s real bad in next game, then I think you could probably speed it up. Like freshmilk posted, some of dickerson’s issues weren’t physical and he looked confused on who he was supposed to block. I do think our interior guys are still adapting to new coaching, new scheme and just first game. I’d be surprised if we are as bad next two weeks. Bears defense isn’t good either. Carolina should’ve scored even more in that game than they did.

Am I the only one who thinks Trotter should be starting ahead of Campbell? Right now I think Trotter is the better LB and it isn't really that close.

I think his brother is a high level talent coming out of college. I would've loved to have grabbed him too. But Campbell has barely played. He needs to be on the field right now and hopefully the light comes on sooner rather than later and he pays the first round dividends.

I don’t think they will. Imo have to give him a couple weeks to determine if it’s completely physical or some of his poor play is stemming from new system and blocking scheme.

Issue is people forget eagles offense looked good vs. GB in 2024 week 1. (Got saved in the saints game with Barkley’s big run). But after that the next couple weeks it was rough. Heck even browns game after the bye was rough where sirianni was yelling at people in the crowd. run game had moments in first 5 weeks but really didn’t become elite week after week til around that giants game with Moore as the new oc. Passing game was still up and down but super efficient. They managed until it caught up in the nfc title game and Super Bowl

I’d add offense week 1 was better than last year. They scored 21 points before half then disappeared the rest of the game outside of a FG. Eagles weren’t good first quarter then they managed to have scoring drives in each of the next 3 quarters. They didn’t completely disappear for entire half

Trotter plays fast. Higher IQ. Trotter may be the keeper here. Need more out of Campbell. He was making fundamental errors. Don't think Fangio will like that part. He's also gained more muscle and may have sacrificed some speed.

I do wonder if Campbell struggles vs run as season continues if we don’t see trotter out there on early downs. I think going to give campbell some time as he hasn’t had a ton of reps after Dean came back.

Gonna miss Zach Baun era of LB'ing here if so. But that's a great problem to have of young LBs entering their prime. Can transfer Baun money and pay 2 guys hopefully. Howie will have to skillfully maneuver there.

It’s not an overreaction or short sighted to see what’s happened to Dickerson. If he can’t get it together quickly, then he should and will be benched.

Honestly though most of Campbells bad plays I remember were in coverage yesterday. I’m not sure Trotter helps that.

In evaluating Campbell’s play it is important that in addition to his normal LB assignments, he was stacked with spying on Daniels. That may have contributed to the 2 plays you referenced.

I heard Joyner mention Lampkin when talking about Dickerson replacement. I think Kendall should be 1st guy off bench. Lampkin can sub out Jurgens if needed. I think keeping Majors safe is really important to make sure he doesn't get poached.

The first of those big plays is on him - the deep throw to the defensive right. The other, not so much.
