EMB Blog: 2026 Regular Season (Part 1)

Featured Replies

Second-year offensive lineman Drew Kendall is expected to replace Dickerson, unless the Eagles decide on another configuration that could shift center Cam Jurgens to guard. Willie Lampkin is also in play for either job, although Kendall is the likely first interior lineman up.

Kendall played center exclusively in college, while Jurgens’ first season as a starter in the NFL was at right guard. Jurgens also struggled against Washington on Sunday.

I think Kendall is going to be the LG. But i am not surprised if they are discussing moving Jurgens to G and Kendall to center for the reasons McLane mentioned about Jurgens playing G when Kelce was here. that said, whoever is at G is likely getting Jeffrey Simmons lined up across from plenty of times on Sunday.

I don't know if they're definitely back, although I expected them to be good. Their passing offense was pretty trash tonight. But they have an elite QB, coach, and DC. That is a good foundation that will always keep them competitive.

Agreed.

I thought it was more of Denver playing poorly, rather than KC being dominant. Mahomes looked pretty mediocre passing wise and his deep ball is still awful. If it wasn't for Walker, Broncos might have ended up stealing that game. I think KC will probably end up being a playoff team because their division may not be elite this season, so 11-6 may win that division.

Also, If Mahomes goes through the entire season looking "okay" for a 4th straight season, I think it's time to officially remove him from the elite club. He's been riding off of his SB accomplishments for 3 seasons now in regard to being the #1 QB in the league, but his play says otherwise.

Very good that Dickerson and the team take action right away (unlike last year).

It's so refreshing that they're fixing it now instead of letting it linger and trotting out a guy who clearly can't play

I am glad common sense has prevailed here and Dickerson is taking time. Whoever replaces him has had quality PS snaps, so should be able to drop in and understand the requirement.

The 2 x rosters spots give a chance to steal from elsewhere. Wonder where Howie will go with that one

Something is very off with this whole situation. Landon just said last night he would be ready in 4 weeks.

He also didn't know he was being put on IR, the interviewers told him live.

"I don't know if we talked about this before camp, but certainly if any of you would've given me a truth serum and said, 'What are you looking for in training camp?' It would be how our interior offensive line depth panned out and the way that Drew, Willie, and then obviously [G] Micah [Morris], keeping Micah. Those young guys and the growth that they showed, their ability to play in the passing game, in the run game. I mean, really, really excited about those guys, about being able to have those guys, being able to develop those guys, but at the same time, have confidence that if those guys need to play, that they're ready to play. I was saying it, our interior O-Line depth, it was kind of in a different spot than it had been in years past, relying on some young guys to take a step. A lot of credit to [Offensive Line] Coach [Chris] Kuper and the guys around him for getting these guys ready to go. Feel like we're in a really good spot there and it was a concern going into camp. So, excited about those guys and I think you guys watch it and you see that they all have a potential to come in and play at high level.”

Between this situation and the Big Dom side story, the Eagles are going to end up getting their 2027 draft picks raided by the league in punishments.

I knew the Chiefs would be back. Last year was the super bowl hangover of all hangovers. 7 Straight AFC Championship appearances and 5 Super Bowls appearnces (Including 3 in a row). Yes the Eagles ended up being the straw that broke the chiefs back but They hit a huge wall after all those post season runs. Seattle was foolish giving up Walker. The Chiefs always lacked a strong running game now walker will take some pressure of Patrick. Andy really stuck to the run for once, lol. Looks like the Trilogy is on course (Eagles 1-0, Chiefs 1-0), lol.

I was very surprised that Seattle lets their SB MVP left in FA. KS gets a good RB who rush with visions and patience. Walker found open spaces to run thru and with power. AR will have a powerful weapon on his hand that goes well with PM of his passing game. A likely representative of AFL at SB this season.

Have they announced the injury or is it just IR?

McLane on yesterday's pod said Dickerson can keep saying "I never came close to retiring" but he did. He said well at least the Eagles believed he was close to it. I heard a couple other beats say the same thing.

The Eagles know he's shot, but given all he's done for this organization and how good he's been, gave him a chance to show he can still play and cross their fingers it was just an ugly camp. He ended up being a disaster. They decided he's washed and put him on IR and are going to keep stalling, possibly all season unless there's an emergency and the backups are even worse. Dickerson is prideful and believes in himself, so he's not giving up on himself yet.

I am just disappointed that the offensive brain trust wasn't more proactive about this situation. Considering the talk was there of his possible retirement, I would think they would be closely monitoring him and prepared to give him the hook, if necessary. Something should have been revealed during the preseason and a Plan B needed to be developed for this very situation. I am not saying they didn't but...It feels like his desires to play outweighed prudence. He was clearly physically failing during the game, but where was Kuper, Mannion and Sirianni? What would they have to say if Saquon or Jalen went down too because of inability to do his job?

dont get me wrong, I thought it was hilarious he got flagged but that is just such a STUPID rule. No wonder they call it the No Fun League.

Yeah, let them throw the goal post out of alignment. There are a number of No Fun rules I hate, but not that one. It is a good rule for the same reason the anti dunking rule on the goal post exists.

The Cowboys fans are down but don't worry if they beat the Commanders 'better' than the Eagles did then they'll be right back to irrational bragging
