Little known is that the Rebs had greater casualties than the Union. Chased Rosie back to Chattanooga, where Grant would bail him out. I have always wondered what would have happened if Old Pete had held command there instead of Bragg.

He felt that the complexity of NFL football also was conducive to discussions that would evolve from the OP’s focus, so that there would be a "fabric” rather than individual threads. He also chose to put the word Blog in the thread title to deal with the (in my opinion) rather aggressive and intrusive moderation of threads. The Mods at that time, with guidance from Dave Spadaro came down hard on comments in TATE threads that strayed from the OP’s topic. They wanted changes of topic to be put into their own thread. It was heaven for @Mike030270. The MODs resisted at first, but Tommy’s strong relations with the Eagles’ administration caused the MODs to back offThe Blog functioned very well that way until the time when a poster named Douglas704 arrived. Doug was very knowledgeable, but he had a strong desire to be the only voice of the Blog. Tommy’s original collaborative education mission was an anathema to Doug. He wanted to both pontificate and dominate the airwaves. His number of posts (the EMB reported the post counts for each thread and all the posters in each thread) was more than double the number of the next closest poster, and probably more than the next three posters combined. The result was that the Blog wasn’t attractive to a lot of the original participants, and they left. Eventually Tommy threw up his hands in the air and created Igglesblitz.com.I’m sure others here will have more to add, but that’s my (highly biased) answer to your question. That’s a good summation. I miss Tommy musing about the draft, Kubrick flicks, and the glory of PBR.

However, you can see that the numbers are really bolstered by that amazing 2022 year. Outside of that, he's been just decent posting 20-13 record. At the end of the day, a majority of the losses the last 4 years have come when he throws more.

Mush rush I think it was called.Having Simmons mush rushing … rather than disrupting like Jalen Carter … is good for the Eagles not bad. That will especially help in passing plays that take a while to develop … like a dagger … and benefit from Hurts’ abilities throwing deep passes.

September 19Sep 19 Kerkering & Alvarado. Worst righty-lefty combo we've had in a loooooooooooong time! Both should be DFA'd. Cost them a lot of games this year. If we see either of them in playoffs, heads should roll for allowing that.

It was a challenge for many but the perception was that it was a place for really strong football discussion. This was also at a time that random rumors and opinions without verifiable substantiation could result in a ban. And yes…Douglas changed the entire tone of the Blog all by himself. Before Doug it was respectful and civil even in disagreements.

I largely avoided TATE because it was always a thousand WIP caller type posts. The blog is the only place that seemed to be worth my time. Most of my interactions with him were in the CFB/draft section of the original board. Tommy, NDIrish, and a bunch of old timers were always in there talking CFB and the draft. I liked it because it wasn’t argumentative, more of a discussion atmosphere. Good times.

Similar evolution, quite a few knowledgeable people trading tips tricks and discussions. Then one guy came along and dominated the place. He knew enough not to get banned but his attitude caused a lot of the very good posters to go elsewhere or stop posting. That board is still alive but is a shadow of its former self. It's a shame.
