September 21Sep 21 So many people doubted Jalen (He's limited at QB) and even Devonta (He's too small). It's so refreshing they're both killing it all these years later.

September 21Sep 21 Nakobe Dean caused another fumble today. I believe that is two this season. He has been playing lights out. The Eagles defense badly, and I mean Badly mnsses him.

Playing between Becton and prime Dickerson hid some of his flaws. The cap hit for moving on is huge. Gotta hope he can be playable for the next two years. Eagles need to draft O Line heavy the next couple of years.I was against Cam and Landon getting extensions. The red flags were obvious to everyone

Catches everything thrown his way is one way to put it, but he's a complete non factor in the receiving game. He's a 245lb 6th offensive lineman that doesn't demand coverage. Just like Stowers (or later career Ertz) is a sluggish WR that can't get open against DBs.A TE is only a threat if they can participate in blocking and receiving. If they are so lopsided in what they bring to the field, it's a predictable assignment to the defense. Might as well put another WR or OT on the field. Caveat to that is a Jimmy Graham type who was a horrible blocker but so good as a receiver he really was a WR. And Mundt isn't the Jimmy Graham of blocking TE's.

September 21Sep 21 So only 3? sacks in 2 games and a lackluster run game. The interior OL is clearly not good. Philly prides itself in having a dominant O and D line. They need to get it together.

Eagles need to draft O Line heavy the next couple of years. The dream scenario for the OL is that Morris (LG), Kendall (C), and Bell (RT) all take off. They all have fairly prototypical raw materials for their respective positions. The downside here is that this is a MASSIVE unrealistic ask for 6th, 5th, and 3rd round picks. And even if that comes to fruition, Morris isn't ready to help at guard right now...that's a 2027 and beyond thing. If they are settling in on Kendall at C, that's nice to have some clarity somewhere...but Jurgens just is not going to coalesce into a decent LG. Jurgens wasn't a great fit as an OG before his back betrayed him.
September 21Sep 21 I wonder if the Buccaneers continued to just be bad, it gets to the deadline and their season is basically over, if Antoine Winfield Jr. becomes available. He has one year left on his contract after this year. Looking at his contract, they could decide to move on from him after this year anyway.
September 21Sep 21 The OL is a bit of a mess, but I'm pretty happy with the design of the offense amidst it. Hurts has open receivers. I think there's a little more reason for optimism than most.

September 21Sep 21 I love Saquon as much as anyone, but... more Tank Bigsby please. Saquon dances a little too much at times and with this OL they need someone who will just hit it and get nasty.

Stowers is probably on IR with a phantom injury and can’t play even if he was healthy. While I agree that the TE position is not in good shape (which is yet another reason I keep arguing the offense is not talented), I'm not sure what else Howie could have done.We all knew Goedert is an injury concern; despite the resurgent performance last year (and the outstanding week 1), we can see that the rest of the league didn't trust him to stay healthy. And the position lived by that sword in week 1 and died by it in week 2. I suppose it wouldn't have been that hard at all to trade up for Sadiq...but that's a pretty aggressive move for a position that did have Goedert under contract when the team had a ton of holes on offense. So they nabbed Stowers in round 2 and signed a TE off the scrap heap who blocked extremely well...both extremes of the spectrum. Problem is they were surprised by how utterly unprepared Stowers was.I think they did what they could. Just ended up in a tough spot.

We essentially kept him clean against the run and blitzed him (strength) rather than put him in coverage (weakness).

September 21Sep 21 Given the quality of the OL, I think Tank is a better fit than Saquon. The offense was better with Tank on the field and immediately regressed with Saquon came back. Barkley can still run, but he's a home-run hitter not getting HR lanes. Tank will at least pick up 3-4 by going over dudes.

Probably also why they want Kendell to set up shop at C. Center has some more nuanced traits to project...drafting players with C/G flexibility often results in players with a lighter anchor that have less upside as a guard (exceptions to that, notably Dickerson himself). Just easier to draft OT/G guys (Mayberry, Andrews, Herremans just a few in Eagles history). So if Kendall can grab that spot, they really need to draft one pure OG and one OG/OT hybrid. Steen is fine, but no one is in love with him, coaches or fans alike. I don't think they'll go out of their way to give him more money when they already have $$$$$$$ tied up in Jurgens and Dickerson.

A really good 3rd tight end that can block. Both of those guys got paid peanuts. Howie deserve a lot of credit for the roster he constructed, but after they won the Super Bowl we knew it was close to the end for Goedert. he waited til 2026 draft to do much. unfortunately, we all knew Stowers was gonna take a year or even longer for him to finally get up to speed
