They didn’t have the turnovers that hurt them. But their offense went into a shell after a first half where they scored 21 and then didn’t score the rest of the game.

This team has alot of issues right now. Yet they could have and should have won this game against a supposed top NFC opponent. It is still really hard to gauge what we fully have here. Like to see see the offense with a healthy Goedert, Devanta and a brand new left guard. A traffic cone. Anyone with a pulse. Things are discombsobulated and in disarray with all the injuries and sudden changes. Bell had 0 reps in practice. This team is shooting itself in the foot way too much. Will that last all year? We will see. The way they lost and who they lost to, makes this sting and compounds the loss. Yet, and still it's one loss only. New game next week. They are still 2-2 and in the hunt. If they are 2-4 in a couple weeks, then we can start panicking. Little early still. Gotta survive this first half of the season with all the injuries and change. Need to get reinforcements and make some adjustments. Just need a win. Doesn't have to be pretty. I don't think the Rams care that they just won an ugly football game. They survived from being 1-3 and have a new found hope going forward. Just takes a win and the perspective changes.Would still have a lot of concerns about the O. Would have been a fun win but not a sustainable win.We would have gotten 1 TD on a long PR. The other on the back of an INT and bogus penalty. We would have a grand total of one drive where we moved the ball in the second half and it would have been all on the ground, That could all be forgiven because of the injuries if it wasn't for last week (and the two weeks before). This O is fast developing a habit of only being able to put a one (or two) drive for entire second halves. A 1-dimentional team where the D carries a sluggish O and eeking out wins goes nowhere in the playoffs. We saw that story play out last year.

We saw that story play out last year. Not only that it’s been the same inconsistency with the offense dating back to last year. Remember the Buffalo game, they looked like they were gonna roll on offense. And then the second half came and they couldn’t do anything. Again, this is the second year in a row they look good in the first half and then the second half they look discombobulated. I don’t think Manion is ready for the job, which isn’t surprising as he’s a first time OC and first time calling plays. but if we have the same consistent problems and it the same head coach and the same quarterback, then I tend to lead those two are the two bigger issues in all this.

He does not take the game situation, momentum, elements, injuries, etc into consideration. The decision does not change based on the variables, and it’s always the flaw in his decision making. He most likely tried to overcorrect not going for it last week.
October 5Oct 5 2 minutes ago, LeanMeanGM said:Yep - I said it before and I think its true. Siri was made about not going for the one last week that he over-corrected on this one. This is the 4th down that makes me mad. The one at the goal line, on balance, I wouldn't have at that moment in the game but I can understand the logic, especially playing short-handed. Imagine the analytics on that are much closer. This one has no defence for it
October 5Oct 5 None of the next 3 games appear to be easy or ones where Eagles will be necessarily favoured.
October 5Oct 5 Jags opened as 4.5 point favorites for next week. A lot of that probably depends on injury status of Quinyon, Greenard, Saquon, and DeVonta. Assuming Saquon and DeVonta won’t play.

Even then you gotta have a little time. There were times today where hurts had zero time to get the ball off and other times where he had a little time but no one got open before the d was in his face.Tough to generate offense in the passing game with the starting TE not being a threat, no real deep threat a rookie who hasn't had a ton of snaps with hurts, wicks being a complimentary guy and Cooper who was doing his best cris carter impression.add in a leaky o line and it makes for bad offensive football.Im not sure how many qbs with a bunch of scrub receivers, and o line that cant pass block or run block would do much better than hurts today. Having said that he needs to be way better regardless of the bad circumstances

We saw that story play out last year. It's not all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows for sure. Let's be clear, this was not some surefire Superbowl team coming into this season. There were ideas that maybe we can have a championship quality roster on defense. As of yet, it has not materialized and may have been misplaced hopes and expectations on that front.I am not throwing in the towel yet. I am not convinced there are any juggernauts out there, or unbeatable teams here, so who knows?! If Rams would have blown us out of the water, as one would imagine they would, given all the circumstances, then maybe I'd be more flustered here.Yes. Things don't look rosy as of today. But, lots of this stuff happening is self inflicted whether through bad coaching decisions or bad execution. And not necessarily because of lack of talent. I know peeps want to blow this all up. The grass isn't always greener when chasing that endeavor. Still too early to cave into all of those nasty thoughts.

October 5Oct 5 Think I'm going to keep harping on this poor disabled person. Feel kinda bad. But can't be having Osama Bin Jurgens on my team. It's like keeping Kerkering on the mound and seeing him blow the lead repeatedly. It's insanity.
October 5Oct 5 Question of the game...Will the Eagles offense be able to gain 100+ yards in second hal22 minutes ago, e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! said:Wow...what an idiotic statement
October 5Oct 5 7 minutes ago, Vlad67 said:Question of the game...Will the Eagles offense be able to gain 100+ yards in second halWow...what an idiotic statementIt’s not really that idiotic for this year. They’ve given up 37 points in the 4th quarter this year. 9.3 avg. All other quarters they’ve given up 56. So 40% of the total points they’ve give up in the 4th quarter. It’s their worst quarter statistically. Other quarters they are avg: 1st is 20, 19 in the 2nd and 17 in the 3rd. Given up 186 yards, 95 yards, 105 yards and 117 yards in the 4th quarter. Thats an avg of 126 yard per 4th quarter. Per game giving up a total of 344 yards, so 37% of the total yardage is in the 4th quarter. Highest of any quarter. Lastly opponents have scored on 5 of 9 4th quarter possessions. Frankly that’s skewed cause bears basically ran out the clock with one. So it’s really 5 of 8. Highest of any quarter.Ya they kind of have a 4th quarter problem right now. I don’t think it was nearly this bad in the past (albeit last 3 games last year it was) over their last 7 games including playoffs, they’ve have given up double digit points in the 4th quarter in 5 of those 7 games (if the bears didn’t run the clock out it’s probably 6 of last 7 games). I don’t think it’s entirely on the defense, cause the offense has been so poor for long stretches that eventually they wear out and arent fresh.
October 5Oct 5 2 hours ago, eagle45 said:The thing at WR…Wicks can play. His horrible timed speed, rep for poor hands, non-existent production over his career, and the Eagles’ track record of scouting the position made it really easy to completely dismiss his ability to contribute here (for me at least). Mannion knew he had something there in GB. And he’s showing it now. He’s going to cruise around a 650-800 yard clip with a handful of TDs.The criticism? When it’s all said and down, I think his productivity here will be more in the vein of the peak years of James Thrash and Jordan Matthews. Their names are dirt now, but in their best years, they put up those numbers (and then some). The problem is that half the reason they put up those numbers was targets/utilization rather than actually being a playmaker or someone you want getting those targets (or someone the defense truly accounts for).I think he’d be better as a 3rd option for tough catches in traffic with lower usage (resulting in scaled back numbers from that). Problem is…that feels like the ceiling for our first round pick. And it’s also the best utilization for Cooper. The WRs are far from the biggest problem on offense. But it’s all about depth over playmakers. These numbers are coming from an offense that is completely incapable of converting a third down.I’m not seeing a lot of third down drops from the WRs.So is that really Wicks or Lemon’s production cap, or are they trapped in an offense which because of the OL, QB, playcalling, and whatever else simply won’t get the play volume to put up big numbers?

October 5Oct 5 Makes that 0-12 on 3rd down worse is like there were only like 4 I’d say are 3rd and long. Avg distance was 6.6 yards.

One of them needed a soft callThe whole entire game, the had a grand total of 1 drive that went 40 yards+. The way they played, this O could have been held to under 10 points. They got major repeated breaks from the D and ST for the game to be close

I looked at the numbers. They’ve had 21 possessions (eliminate the kneel down week 1) in the second half this year. They scored on 4 of the 21 possessions. They gone 3 and out (4 and out) on 13 of the 21, which is 62% of the time in the second half. That said the time of possession in this game is 32-28 in the end. Heading into the rams last 2 drives it was 26:44 for rams and 25:50 for eagles. Second half up until the rams last 2 possessions (excluding knee down) it was rams 11:20 to eagles 11:14 (6:45 drive right before the last two scores helped the eagles TOP a ton).Eagles offense didn’t help matters by being inept. However imo not having Q, Greenard being out, Baun being out and dejean dealing with his injury issue didn’t help them and eventually mcvey/stafford were going to capitalize on it. we’ve seen the rams against better opponents than the eagles score quickly and come to life fast. Nfc championship game last year. They were down 24-13 in the third quarter. Offense needed to turn it on. Next 3 possessions they went on to score a td on 4 play 75 yard drive (2:21), 5 play 87 yard TD drive (2:45) and then a 84 yard on 14 play drive ending in turnover on downs. Stafford and Rams offense can get into a rhythm and even score fast against a healthy defense like Seattle had (arguably best in the league). Eagles offense put the D in a bad spot being inept for so long in the 3rd quarter. but also eagles being depleted, Campbell and jones eventually being targeted got exploited by a rams offense that can look bad for large portions of the day and eventually just erupt
