October 5Oct 5 Was just watching Foles break down one of the third downs in the game. He too pointed out that going through progressions isn't there and on this particular play, there were three open receivers for the first. Potentially a TD if he leads with his throw.Yes Jurgens blows and the OL has its issues. No Mannion isn't perfect, but guys are getting open consistently and we simply are not getting the ball to them.

Knowing he has thrown INT's through the first 3 games and how Sirianni presses winning the turnover battle, besides just not being good at it, what leads to Hurts missing open receivers this bad? I know Hurt's biggest downfall has been holding onto the ball (throughout his career)And how does this affect other position groups within the film study? Has the O-Line been less than par? Yea, but when you break down the film and they see a QB that could have the ball out, how do guys inherit the blame? How does Moorehead and his receivers take blame? The seat is getting hot for Sirianni and Hurts..........

It's painfully obvious he doesn't process the game quick enough the vast majority of time, and he no longer has the athletic ability to cover his weaknesses. I hear people say the Eagles never run short or crossing routes, but the evidence is right here. Hurts don't know how to lead a receiver, it's like he has to throw it right at them. He's aiming instead of just throwing. He threw one nice pass to Lemon this game and that was it.

People thought because Hurts pulled the ball down and spazzed that he didnt have enough protection to actually throw the ball.Clearly, he did.Hurts makes everything appear worse than it is.If he threw it on time, there's no real pressure and its a 1st down. If he throws to the right guy, it looks like its a big play.Instead, Hurts turned that play into a failure.I said they see the offense through the reality of the peril that Hurts creates rather than the reality of what was actually possible. That's why do many people have the wrong read on Hurts and have higher opinions of him than they should. Not ball knowing enough to see the reality that could have existed with a better QB. They just see what actually happened and literally said on that play " nothing he could do." Lemon was open for the 1st, but nothing he could do.Yeah...OK. maybe throw the ball...Then I get called a troll when Im right.

You can even point to Smith and Brown's biggest seasons here, and when you look at the routes they were utilized on, and the number of times they were missed, or a poor throw took away their opportunity to RAC.... they both could have had far better seasons. We had a 2k RB season. Imagine if some of those years we had 2 WRs with 1600+ yards. The talent this team had, should have been possible. I dont know how players want to stay on his offense. Obviously AJ Brown had enough...

I don't know how much QB position coaches really make a difference, but god when his mechanics are off he is a**

Until a QB can be damn near perfect it's never going to be good enough. The grass is always greener until you watch other NFL games and realize the QB position is mostly a wasteland.Hurts is the most successful QB in the teams history but let's race to get rid of him so we can cycle through even less successful guys. That was fun for the first 35 years of my life but I actually don't mind being a relevant competitor every season
October 5Oct 5 Through Hurts' career, if you field a decent defense and can run the ball it's nearly an automatic win. Somehow we can't do that.Hurts is 41-14 when the rest of the team can rush for 100 yards. He's 21-4 when another player gets to 100 yards rushing. When the defense allows less than 20 hes 42-5.When the defense allows less than 25, he's 51-12-1.This is the team we have. This is the QB we have. We can win with this team and it's really not that hard to figure out.

But that balance has been near impossible with shuffling the O-Line, the two Barkley injuries and Mannion/Sirianni not sticking with plays that work for us. We have no identity. How are we the worst offense under center and this was the offense that we went out to find? Mannion was targeted for this offensive philosphy. We expected it to take time but not to be this bad. And now Mannion will be challenged with the task of a injured roster (Barkley, Bigsby, Goedert, Smith)
October 5Oct 5 I want to vent about Johnnny Mundt. Guy is useless. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he is a very average blocker. He was billed as the answer to the Eagles lack of an in-line TE blocker but he isn't. Guy gets zero separation. I want to see the percentage of plays breakdown but he must have been on the field 75% of the time even in obvious passing situations and i don't remember hin being targeted. That's on Mannion for not getting Ertz in the game more. They didn't sign Ertz to sit on the sidelines in passing situations.

He's 25th in completion percentage. He is the wasteland currently

Any time the Eagles do a reunion like this it completely underwhelms. The issues with this team have zero to with Ertz and even if we got 2017 Ertz it really wouldn’t matter.
