Man, it feels like the end of the Hurts/Siri run is here. In hindsight it was smart to not extend Hurts, I think they'll try to keep him for 1 more year as a bridge QB.

Siri on the other hand is gone after this year. You can book it.

My biggest regret is that they got rid of Stoutland, he was such an invaluable resource that could have rebuilt this O-Line right.

He will be back if they turn the O over to someone not strictly from the Shannhan / McVay tree and instead hire say a Declan Doyle or someone from the Reid tree (Nagy / Kafka)

Your question isn't relevant to what I'm saying to begin with? I'm not being sarcastic, I would like to actually have quality Eagles discussion again and I feel like the only way to do that is getting rid of Sirianni. Are you asking despite me thinking that's authentically the only way out at this point?

I think he can very late in a season, but not in the regular season and early playoffs. I kind of view Hurts as similar to Eli pedigree wise, but with less turning the ball over, and more mobility. It's great that towards the very end of a season he can play some of his best games. And that works when the formula is a team that can get someone to that point so they can take over.

The problem is when they can't. It's kind of like he's nerfed in games before the NFCCG and only gets to use his full ability after that point. Lol.

The problem is, without a strong supporting cast, I don't think Hurts can get us to the playoffs. He isn't worth the risk of a big contract in my opinion. Especially considering he has regressed every year since 22. Not to mention he's older and way less mobile than he used to be.

Not sure, but at this point I’d MUCH rather see Sirianni with a new starting QB than more Hurts with a different HC

Different HC with a new starting QB is also an option to discuss 🤣

I assume you mean Stout could be back. That would be great, but I'm afraid he felt burnt that the Eagles allowed Siri to kick him to the curb.

I feel like Groundhog Day with this coaching rhetoric.

If you want to fire Siri because he’s a CEO head coach who doesn’t contribute to the offense (which sucks) and you want an offensive blue print guy and play caller who IS the head coach and therefore won’t leave for a promotion upon any success….then by all means argue that point.

But my God stop blaming Siri directly for the offensive product on the field right now. It could not have been more clear in the offseason that he has been neutered, emasculated, and removed from this process. This is the Mannion offense run by Hurts. Siri isn’t the common denominator because he’s no longer in the equation.

I don’t believe that is true, it’s clearly not true. And he still impacts everything that happens with the football team and is responsible for everything that happens with his team.

Well, glad I flew across the country for that. Not sure I can stomach watching a replay. I have to ask - what in the hell is our offensive system? I really have no clue at all. You’d think we could convert a 3rd down by accident. Some quick thoughts.

  • Retire the Tush Push, it doesn’t work without dominant Landon. Spread out and run a traditional QB sneak.

  • Going for that 4th down was the height of stupidity - thankfully the defense bailed us out.

  • After Jurgens blew the 3rd and goal play, I understand going for it to make it 3 scores. Then the defense gives up a 98 yard TD drive…

  • Just amazing watching the receivers live and no one can get open.

  • Darius Cooper at least gave his all.

Yes, everyone was hurt, but the game was there to be had and we couldn’t do anything right on offense. It was painful to watch.

I mean, that's also Eli right? He'd never get you to the playoffs by himself, but he absolutely played well when you got there?

I think a bigger issue is the fact that wild card round isn't enough to get the engine started. If he started playing gamer Jalen mode as soon as he touched wild card, that'd be different. But it's usually later on in the playoffs instead, and that's not great in terms of consistency of getting there.

That seems more likelier by every passing week. Siri will be gone, I think there's a higher likelihood he gets fired during the season than being retained for another year.

If they can find a trade for Hurts, I think they'll take it. If not, I think they keep him for 1 more year in hopes of getting his value up enough for a trade while they figure out their QB of the future.

With that said, there are like 6-7 1st round calibre prospects in next year's draft, so the future might not be far off.

I'm all in on Trinidad Chambliss.

What a fun name to root for

I wonder if Lane has taken a look at this cluster***k and decided it's not worth what he'd have to go thru for the next 13 games. I can't say that I'd blame him.

Unless there is something physically or very mentally wrong with him, it would be a bad look for him to quit on the team being the player and career hes had.

If hes just frustrated with the team he can finish out the season and hang it up.

Would you still feel it's not true if they were being very successful right now? Not everything that goes wrong with the offense is a direct byproduct of Sirianni sabotaging it, y'know. It's not 'clearly Sirianni meddling because something went wrong'. I feel like that kind of thinking is pretty common though. Which is why I kind of think that you just can't be an Eagles coach if the fanbase doesn't like you.

If the offense was performing great and they looked prepared and execute well every week then yes he would get credit for that and Mannion would too.

Its crap the bed and WC loss but if you get past that game, you know we are going on a run!

I wouldn’t give up on the tush push. Unless it’s 1+ yard like today. And like it was last week when they chose to punt. Sirianni is so confused in his own head I’m convinced he went for that this week solely because he didn’t last week. He’s compounding his mistakes.

Delusional, as per usual. It's like you are looking at the blue sky and arguing with people that isn't in fact blue.

It’s possible that they can both be not good enough. There’s no reason to argue that one is great and held back while the other is a problem. Maybe they both are. Anyone with extensive starting experience can get a placeholder starting QB job. And a HC with Siri’s record can probably get a job somewhere too, like Doug in Jacksonville.

The question is if either of them would keep that job beyond 2 years. And the answer is almost certainly no to both of them.

That’s what happens when the band breaks up. Everyone regresses.

I made this point earlier today. It could be that neither one of them are good enough after they’re here to be as successful as they were here during their peaks. Where Nick Sirianni has a Doug type career after here. And Jalen is a serviceable starting quarterback, depending on the talent of the team.

I know this, I don’t think Jeffrey Lurie believes that we can only be a run team to win in the NFL. He hired Andy Reid and the philosophy was pass to win. It’ll help you set up the run later. I still believe he thinks that’s the philosophy. I think he’s fine doing it if you could have a historic running game and it can carry you to a title. But I think he looks at today’s NFL if he’s saying our pass offense cannot be this bad or this inconsistent and win big. They managed to do it once in 2024. And it’s because they had an elite offensive line, elite defense, and an elite running game. It made up for the fact the passing game could be hit or miss. You don’t have that anymore and you don’t have nearly the talent anymore.

Trying to compare the feeling of being 2-2 right now versus when they were in 2024 but it feels like night and day.

2024: Good opening win against GB, fluky loss to ATL after the Saquon drop, tough gritty win against a hot Saints team at the time, and then a drubbing by Tampa. Lots of people wanted Nick fired if they lost to Cleveland after the bye and then they rip off 10 straight wins.

2026: Squeak out two wins against two inferior teams in WAS and TEN, dog walked by Chicago, and then give up the Rams game today. Injury riddled, zero identity on offense, zero pass rush, and lots of questions.

Hear me out. Opinion that people will not like.

Maybe the same thing that other fanbases do with Hurts that people complain about, is the same thing our fanbase does with Sirianni.

"They have to be at fault! Because if it's not that person's exclusive fault...that means all my past criticism is unjustified! And that makes me uncomfortable!"

People do that a lot these days.

4th down decisions have made basically no sense the last 2 weeks - that’s on the head coach.

10 penalties this week. 10 penalties last week. That’s on the head coach.

I’m frankly just really tired of watching football around the league and watching teams with inferior talent or as good as talent as us make it look so much easier on offense. It’s like pulling teeth for anything the Eagles do anything right. And if they do do something right they come up with a dumb penalty.

Divisional round still remains to be seen sadly. If you recall, the Giants in 2022 were overrated trash (Daniel Jones of that era), and the 2024 Eagles the snow kind of made it hard to evaluate Jalen. I think we can successfully say NFCCG though.

Also, let's be honest here guys. Howie has sucked the past 2 years.

I have no clue what we are even trying to do on offense. And I don’t think the players do either. Just some mishmash of random plays from different systems. The only consistent themes are never attempt big plays, and make sure to commit penalties.
