Thats where Howie needs to work some magic.Too many players currently being paid for what they did rather than what they will do.Lane Johnson, Barkley, Jurgens, Dickerson, and Greenard…the cap space their contracts eat is worth more than they are.Carter and Davis…they aren’t playing up to their deals but at least that has a chance to change. The Devonta, Mailata, and Baun contracts are fine. Outside of those 3, the whole cap is tied to declining and soon to be useless offensive players or DTs. They need to wipe the slate clean of those obligations.Reminder that after being one of the few people willing to pay Saquon, he gave him a raise just for fun. Now to be fair, last year the line was pretty rough so maybe it would have seemed more worth it if it wasn't? But still.

And there's a guy in the bench who is a stud at pass pro and very good at pulling in the running game. An athlete. It could change a lot in this offense, IMO. Will he be overwhelmed with power at times? Potentially. But his technique is elite where he can buy time. Right now they are going thru Jurgens like a matador.Correct. So who do you blame for keeping him in the lineup? It is either Siri as he is the HC and should determine who starts or it is Howie who is saying play Jurgens because of his contract. To the Eagles credit they basically benched Dickerson after one game. They should have benched Jurgens after the Titans game but they won. No way he should have started against the Rams. He should have at a minimum been benched after the Bears game. Something funny is going on if Jurgens is out there against the Jags.

Let's finish this before moving onto whatever else you're asking. No, because it's stupid. I have no idea what Todd Monkens motivations for sticking with Baltimore were, nor do I care. What I do know it that Sirriani hasn't been able to keep a single OC here. Nor were they able to lure the top ones on the market last year. Now, feel free to clearly state your position or piss off. I don't care either way.

He's on the 30 and drops back all the way to the 25 before he wants to throw. Simple temporary solution is to shorten the drop backThat's coaching isn't it? That's also who he is as a QB. Was he late with throws? Yeah. Does he not process the field well? Yeah. Does he rush out of the pocket when he's jumpy? Absolutely. That's who he is, especially when the line is dog crap. He stops seeing the field even more and is ready to bolt. Bottom line is that guy is not going to do his job when the OL sucks that bad. That's not a guy who will do well with horrible coaching. All established and on record for years. So yeah I don't want to hear how Hurts had a bad game even if he did because he's not going to play well under those circumstances.

October 5Oct 5 Jordan Love is dealing with similar issues in Green Bay since his OL is horrible as well. You see enough of this week in and week out and it starts to take a toll on your timing process and everything is sped up.

And it doesn't need to be a permanent thing. It's simply adapting because you need to let the ball out soonerBrees dropped back even more IIRC and he didn't always have the greatest OlineYou're excusing Hurts because of someone else instead of saying Hurts could do this because the problem might not go away (god I hope they bench Cam) and Hurts NEEDS to adapt to the current situation
October 5Oct 5 The EMB went through a similar, passionate debate about another QB1 a few years ago. I remember the Wentz apologists (I was one for a while) that blamed everyone else for a while. I think Mike Groh and Jason Peters staying injured helped me stay on the Wentz bandwagon longer than I should have. Then the other excuse was the lack of playmakers around him. It course Gym Shortz and his sticks BS also took a fair share of the blame. It was the same at the end of McNabb’s tenure on the board, too. What’s interesting is when the EMB gets this passionate about the QB1 (the naysayers versus the blind loyalists) it always seems to predict the collapse.

October 5Oct 5 Here is an example of what to do. Go to the play at 13 seconds. Keenum identifies pressure, changes the play, still gets pressure, and as soon as he hits his back foot the ball is out. Ball travels from the 11 to the 35. Jalen Hurts waits forever to throw a ball that travels 24 air yards.

Anyway, no, I don't think you have to get rid of Sirianni. I think the biggest reason at this point you would is just because the fanbase doesn't like him. But I think it's fair to say by the fact that it's one of the very first things that happen for many new head coaches, that the marriage between the QB and the Head Coach is arguably the most important decision of a Head Coach's career, and Sirianni never got to draft his partner. Not sure what the obsession is with throwing him into the sun when you really have no idea whether it's just a bad fit or not.Every coach since Reid has at least gotten the opportunity to draft a QB, or make a QB change. Or both.
