Howie likes to retool. Lurie is old. Do you think he wants to sit around on a multi year rebuild.

on this point, it may be the time we see the transition from Jeff to his son Julian

Not too sure about him having average lines. When injuries happened during certain years and last year for example, he looked bad. Those Superbowl teams had 3 all pros and two average tackles. That's a pretty good line still. I'd take 'em. Thuney, Humphrey and Brown are studs. Receivers have been great to okay over the years with Hill and Kelce prime earlier. The years after where there's no Hill, Reid was great at scheming average guys open. Still had a good line and pretty good Kelce. His stats have dropped substantially in those years compared to his earlier career. Luckily at that time he has had Spags and a championship defense to carry a lot of the load. Takes a team.

LIX they had problems at LT all season. They moved their LG to LT and had a new person at LG

LVIII they were missing their LG

LVII is when they had everyone healthy

LV they had everyone but the center have to change up because of injuries

LIV They were missing their LG

Right. But that doesn't change Lurie's older age. LOL. May not run the team, but philosophically things wouldn't change immediately. This season has to play out. Peeps are folding their tents too early in here in what is a winnable division and weakish conference.

It could. But there is a path for this still working out if the OL has been upgraded in whole. Big if. This team has always won in the trenches. Still believe that we will be fine on defense if Carter and Greenard heal up. And I anticipate Kendall and Lampkin combo being at least average which is much more that what they had before. The speedy development of Bell learning on the job will decide a lot of things. He needs reps. Think he can already already help in the running game.

To go from where we were 20 months ago to the idea of a whole rebuild is pretty shocking. There's still a path to success here this year if we have what we think is a great GM to plug up a hole or 2 if needed. Need guys healthier, need young guys to step up. I'd like to win this weak division still. Hope we can hold the fort here in the next few weeks. But if everybody retires 😅 and shidd continues going south then it is what it is. Not yet there in forfeiting this season or future seasons.

I know everyone loves Lampkin but I'm hoping Morris is the guy. Big program and big dude. Using leverage is great, but a 6'5 330+ guy going at someone in the run game is preferable to a 5'10 sub 300 pound guy. They still have an amazingly talented roster. Before they got worn out I thought the defense looked much better. I'm still high on Lemon and Wicks. Outside of Smith he's probably playing the best as a rookie since Maclin. The guy is constantly open and did a good job of holding onto the ball as he got drilled on Sunday. Some disagree but it looks like we have at least a solid starting center and Bell did alright at RT for his first game. Coop and Mukuba looked better on defense and Smith had his best game since the SB year.

It's a weak division and the 49ers look good, but not unbeatable. Coaching is the biggest issue and it's a large one. We'll see but they have the talent even with all the injuries....which aren't long-term just yet.

What a wild 9 days it’s been starting last Monday

I'm old enough to remember the forum 2 years ago after the Bucs game. People were rooting for them to tank. It's funny how they are 2-2 and we are talking rebuild a game out of first place vs a team that doesn't have a starting QB.

Surely he will be a post June 1 designation, meaning they will hold the retirement paperwork until June 1, '27. That allows unrecognized compensation (bonuses) against the cap to be split between '27 and '28. Since the PHI FO were already planning for him to be retiring at seasons end it shouldn't change much, however I am not a capologist so take this as speculation.

Can they do that. Can they hold his retirement paperwork filing that long. Almost 6 months until the new league year begins.

They can and will...

Does IR/PUP cover mental health?

Horrible offensive lines. He did it by himself.

You have this thing against Mahomes. Not sure why

Could we afford the cap hit for trading Saquon once he gets healthy?

Howie has been trading draft picks like confetti. Two third round picks for Greenard, two fourth round picks (to Dallas of all teams) to move from 23 to 20, wasted pick on Dalton,, two picks for Tank (good trade IMO) etc. He needs to hoard picks like they are gold now.

You would think so, but they been doing some weird roster management this year

Especially in this upcoming draft IMO.

Morris may get in there this year if Howie knows he's not extending Steen and trades him. But looks like LG is Kendall and C is Lampkin. Makes sense from a body build (height/weight) standpoint and comfort standpoint with reps. I'm not saying all of these young guys are gonna pan out, but there's been some really bad OL play that on the whole it could work. Especially in moving people in the running game. Been getting not much push since last year. Get a semblance of a running game and Hurts can function again.

I am not against him. He's not God. He needs to come down a rung. I'm actually a closet Chiefs fan. My AFC team. And Jags. Know KC very well. Have fam there.

Was that released somewhere? Not sure I love moving Kendall off a position where he looked good.

The 2024 probably should’ve been 3-1 and not 2-2 if they didn’t blow the Falcons game where Saquon dropped the pass. This team feels fortunate to be 2-2. I’d add that team had a better roster of talent than this one and better coaches

Despite everything being sky falling today, I'm out on this season yet.

After the Bears game I was fully expecting them to drop to at least 2-3. After that the only teams that are actually contending teams left on their schedule are the Seahawks and 49ers. Not saying the Eagles will run the table or close to it besides those two games. But it's very possible for this team to still go 9-8 or 10-7.

Ultimately the remainingNFC East games will determine if the Eagles win the division or not. The upcoming run of Cowboys - @Redskins - Giants could determine their fate. By then we should have Devonta, Barkley and Goedert back. Lane to Bell is a downgrade for sure but I don't think Bell will be hopeless out there. Lampkin will be better than Jurgens. And I really do think the offense will be dropping 27+ points per game by then.

Defense looks good again, just have to hope none of these injuries are serious and they can all be back by that stretch as well.

The run game isn’t getting fixed until this offense shows it can function in any capacity.

What I mean is, defenses, starting week 1 with WAS, are just blitzing, overloading, and shooting gaps on run and pass downs because we simply cannot make them pay for it. They vacate the middle of the field constantly because we don’t / can’t make them pay for it.

I knew this was going to happen as soon as WAS showed the blueprint so early. Every team was going to do the same thing until we showed we could beat it. LAR blitzed WAY more than they normally do, for instance.

So, it’s much more than just getting incrementally better OL play. Hurts holds the ball too long and won’t trust the offense. Needs 3-4 seconds on every throw. The offensive system still doesn’t seem to have the answers to the blitz. Sirriani offers nothing. Mannion is swimming right now.

So no. This team is cooked this year. And a few young mid - late draft picks on the OL aren’t turning this thing around. At best maybe 1 or 2 of them shows enough to keep around. But we likely don’t have any blue chip talent on the OL anymore.

I just heard the news and had to pull the car over. I know Lane been dealing with family and personal issues since the last super bowl run. He gave it another year last year and this year he tried but He probably wanted to retire with Jason, BG and Fletch but held on. Lane Thank you for everything. You have to do what's best for your life now. Between the two losses, the injuries and this, the season sadly isn't starting out the hottest but I have a feeling this is the bottom, we can rise again starting in London. But Land this one hurts.
