Imo that’s not your identity. Your identity has been building through the trenches and occasionally adding a corner, a quarterback, or a wide receiver in the first round. To me you could’ve lived with a lesser linebacker in the middle rounds then going Campbell. I also understand late in the first round you take the value. However, I wanted to trade back or take the OT the chiefs took (he’s not looking great either) because I said they have a lot of holes coming up that they’re gonna need to fill. I’d rather have more picks to have more swings to fill some of those spots.

The Chiefs only traded with us after confirming position we were taking - he wouldn't have been available to us.

Everything else you said - I also agree with. Build through trenches and prioritise high upside / uniquely athletic kids early, WR is fine position to draft but I don't think Lemon fits the build for the second one. Campbell was uniquely athletic but a low priority position. Just feels like approach in last 2 drafts have been off, and its not like OL or EDGE haven't been glaring needs

Howie has been trading draft picks like confetti. Two third round picks for Greenard, two fourth round picks (to Dallas of all teams) to move from 23 to 20, wasted pick on Dalton,, two picks for Tank (good trade IMO) etc. He needs to hoard picks like they are gold now.

They are going to get back a 3rd round pick for losing Jaelen Phillips. I am guessing the other FA losses will be offset by their FA signings.

Was that released somewhere? Not sure I love moving Kendall off a position where he looked good.

Just a guess by EJ Smith. Not a fact. Kendall has looked good at Center. But they both were interchangeable in preseason and had a lof of snaps together with that alignment. I posted a link earlier today with all of their snaps together in Patriots preseason game. Looked solid.

Siri sorta looks like Kurt Russell there.

If the Eagles turn it around and win the Super Bowl this year, should Lane still get a ring?

Yes but not happening

Define bashing? Saying he's the best ever but that was a bleep move? Saying I don't hate the guy but he should have honored his contract and not quit on his team and the fans? Saying he should have done so in the preseason? How weak are some of you and in what world is that "bashing" a guy? They could have kept Williams or made other moves had he done so then. He's also screwing their cap from the post above. Someone can like the guy and hate an action of theirs. Calling it bashing is weak as hell and says a lot.

They aren’t taking the hit this year.

I made the same argument at that time, if the Chiefs weren’t willing to make that trade with you if you wanted to move up for OT Simmons then I don’t have to move up. I am fine sitting there at 32 and whoever falls between Campbell and Simmons. As well as if somebody traded up with the Chiefs to get Campbell to leap frog is then OK. I’m just gonna sit at 32 take Simmons, Campbell (if there) or if the chiefs wanted simmons that bad after moving down trying to get more capital out of them.

I have less issue, taking lemon considering where he fell. he does fit what LaFleur offense wants in a wide receiver. I understood it as well that they were gonna move AJ Brown. To me the bigger issue is your identity is building through the trenches. You taking a linebacker early is never something you have done. I tend to think when teams do things which are not true to their core values and go off of their identity, they tend to get themselves in trouble.

So many guys from that 2024 run really put it all on the line and were never the same after it. Jurgens, Landon, Saquon carrying the offense for most of that season, Lane always dealing with injuries. Nolan was never the same after that playoff run and the triceps injury. It felt like they paid the ultimate price for the ultimate goal. Will always be thankful for it, but it sucks it had to be like that.

Where my cap folks at? True or nah?

His previous take is bad. And while I’m one of the few here who have been consistently critical of the extreme extent Howie does his contracts that destroys roster flexibility and if a signing goes bad it kills the any efficiency you gain by using future money, this is a bit over dramatic (TBF, I have not had the time to project out like I use to these last two years given my personal situation)

We have the same record as the Rams, 2 defeats 4 games in don't mean you have to shut it down for the year, they can still get back on track, but they clearly have to tweak it.

For what it's worth much as I love the guy for what he's done the last 14 years, but you have to call it a career in the off season if you have doubts.

This team looks like utter dog crap, has injuries piling up weekly to their best players, just lost their HOF RT to retirement, hurts is slower and still confused by blitzes, and they're led by a complete buffoon of a HC. This season is done unless saquon pulls another 2024 out of his ass behind the rebuilt line and the defense gets and stays healthy.

Time to evaluate the young players, see what we have in lampkin, Kendall, and bell. If all 3 are serviceable, it's an enormous win for us and we have flexibility in the draft to get a new QB.

Let's be real here, in 4 games this offense has put together maybe 8 good drives. They're one of the worst teams in league history on 3rd down right now. This doesn't need tweaking, it needs a tactical nuke

Would be nice if he pans out.

I thought the same when I watched that clip- that it didnt all look bad. But Schwartz has to realize those are just a few plays from 1 game. Hes been bad all year so far so....

I think there’s two issues. You have the hurts issue that they discussed. Which we’ve all discussed. Which running this offense he can’t do what he did in the pass he has to be on time and he has to throw with anticipation, which is not something he’s great at.

And the other issue is, I don’t think Nick Sirianni is the coach to run this offense. I don’t think he’s the coach that the Eagles truly want in terms of they want a McVay, Shanahan and Coen who can scheme/system and are able to problem solve with Xs and Os so if problems occur can fix and we aren’t just firing OC every other year. they can find ways to fix their offense and always evolving.

Jurgens and Dickerson in particular. Young pro-bowl dudes who played on injuries they shouldn't have. That tag-team C combo game will always be stuff of legends

In Dickerson's case, though he did have known knee issues

Shame they have both fallen off to the level they have but that is why I will always have a positive view of their contributions here and thankful for what they helped delivered, no matter how bad they look now nearer to what appears to be the end for both.
