Now they're all gone and he's the veteran with younger guys.Landon is still on the team and Lane and Cam aren't dead. In his wildest dreams this would have been unthinkable for Jordans career in the NFL. The time for the mopiness is over now, 13 games left to play. This is why they're paid millions. They all have a job to do and I'm glad this cleansing is taking place now
October 8Oct 8 What's the boards opinion of Austin Simmons? Just out of curiosity. Lets say we took him in the second (assuming he decides to enter the draft). How would that make you feel?
October 8Oct 8 Lane retired, Landon on IR, Jergens traded, Stoutland left. This is an O-Line Reset not a full team reset. We have to get the O-line back to it's glory days. I know the personnel aren't the same but now it's time to build it back up.

It's why we have starters out with soft tissue injuries because they don't get their bodies ready before the season. It's also why they look so awful on offense early and dont have an identity. This week they need to figure out whatever the heck their identity is and get things going. I think they could come out of this game with a win.

October 8Oct 8 I think this was a unique opportunity that Howie felt he couldn’t pass up, more so than the beginning of a fire sale. The division is awful and the Eagles could easily be 7-3 heading into their Dallas Thanksgiving game. (And 6-3 at the trade deadline)The real, season defining game will be in 2 weeks at home vs. the Panthers. They’ll probably be 2-3 with a lot of bad vibes. The Panthers are an unexpectedly decent team. If they get a big win there, that will propel them into 3 division games in which they’ll likely be favored in all 3. If they drop to 2-4, the bottom could fall out and they could keep losing.I think that Panthers game is really shaping up as a fork in the road.
October 8Oct 8 Some of the comments on the Ravens end were almost contrary to the Eagles bubble narrative. Performances have been better than perceived, never a fit for the O scheme they are running now, been talking for a while about the trade. Ravens feel there is a window to win this season, etc etc
October 8Oct 8 Will be interesting to see Landon's performances improve when not playing next to Jurgens. Almost career defining for him now
October 8Oct 8 Reading through to copium on Ravens reddit and message boards. General themes seem to be:Yeah it was an overpay but we had a desperate hole to fill with multiple C injuriesGotta win now, Declan is going to get a HC offer soonJurgens "graded well" at the 1 game he played at center this year, and overall graded well as a center last year despite perceptionEagles fans are dumb and overly reactionary, them thinking this is robbery is prematurePresented without comment other than they're not totally wrong.
October 8Oct 8 Another element to the Ravens trade is that Lamar Jackson is set to be a UFA in 2028. If he doesn't have a new contract extending him past 2027, it won't be a love fest down in Baltimore. 2027 could be a mini-implosion season for the Ravens.

October 8Oct 8 The Ravens are a smart organization. DeCosta is a smart GM. I’m sure they see Jurgens as a good player for them, and they’re probably right. Even so, a 2 and a 5 for him reeks of desperation and rightfully so. There simply wasn’t any supply out there for them. How many teams would be willing to trade their starting center right now? How many of those would be perceived as a fit for the Ravens? The center position was maybe the biggest hole any potential contender had at the moment. It really was the perfect storm.

Glad he got to flap his little hands like a fairy when he hit a few homers in Philly earlier this year though!

Obviously, we all think they won’t get that. There’s no pro bowl upside here, but he could be decent. It’s also possible he’s abysmal.
October 8Oct 8 Once Dickerson is off IR is he trade bait???Hes a shell of himself and is still due a lot if money but if a team is willing to give up anything for Cam would they likewise give up anything for Dickerson?

Running game is a step down and the pass catchers are very good but not great. Scheme wise, doing a lot of good things but its not a game I'd think before kick off that we'll get rolled badly here, Could of course happen as they are good, but I wouldn't be doom mongering too badly.

It’s also possible he’s abysmal. He's definitely a better center than guard (low standard), and from what I can tell the Ravens' system fits his skill set better. After losing their starter and backup for the season they kinda had to make a move at C or let Jackson get killed and waste another season. It's a tough pill to swallow but he makes them a better team with a better shot at a title. That can be true at the same time as saying Howie absolutely recognized their desperation and took full advantage.

A perennially competitive team in possibly the last year of their window with a dire need at his position. And he wasn’t awful in his limited time at center this year.Dickerson would need to get on the field and not embarrass himself before anyone would trade for him. I’m not sure they plan to ever take him off IR.
