What a the point?  He's a good QB but he has this off the field baggage, this roster isn't good and our cap situation isn't good.  Thus after we unload picks for him we will continue to be not good.  This isn't a team that is a QB away.  Draft and develop a QB and build around him.  Maybe Hurts is that guy. Maybe he isn't and they use the draft resources next year to move up to draft one. But my God don't waste the licks on a QB already on a huge deal Howie.

Payton Turner is a DE prospect in the 2021 draft class. He scored a 9.82 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 26 out of 1361 DE from 1987 to 2021.

Didn’t show that much at UH.  I like him but looks like he may be over drafted

Agreed about Watson, would rather draft a QB.  But Lance is not going #3, Mac Jones is, and Lance wont make it out of the top 10.

I don't think it necessarily shows this FO has any type of real plan if they decide to trade back and still take Lance at #12, but, I'd probably do it. Let Hurts or Lance emerge as the QB, and use the first round picks next year to build up the team. The one thing that drives me nuts is the take of "see if Hurts is good enough and if not you can trade all of next years picks for a QB". How about we try to preserve next years picks and figure out QB at the same time?

Yup.  Again, evaluate a QB properly and get him at #10 (Mahomes) or #12 (Watson).

This draft coming up with be an exhibition of desperation.  We’ll have to see who gets it right, and who gets burned
