If the Eagles use Gainwell properly he's going to create matchup problems for defenses.  1,450+ yards rushing with a 6.3 yards per carry, and 51 catches at 12 yards per catch.  He can be used as a slot WR in some formations, he can run the wildcat, and he's got good balance through contact.  He doesn't return kicks or punts, but as a RB he's a very versatile chess piece.

He and Sanders on the field at the same time would be interesting.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

If I'm Howie these next few weeks I'm calling every team that drafted a new franchise QB and trying to sell Ertz. If any team is willing to give a 3rd (likely the comp pick we get when he walks) take it and run.

Jags and Jets could definitely use a tight end. Patriots also but you aren't going to get them to bite.

Same. Coming for JJAW’s number out the gate

Direction of the NFL is moving towards 1 LB and 3 safeties(big) package with a big safety in the box. There you have Stevens. There are a lot more LBs in that 210-220 small range then most think.

Well that’s the size of a lot of CFB LBs. That’s the sort of LBs needed against spread offenses.

Also good at pass protection.

In my day in college I was 5'11 185-190 pounds as a safety and I was considered small even for corner but my speed and sure tackling made up for it. They used me at FS, nickel and outside. In today's game id actually have been an avg size corner/safety. Game is just so much different now.

Im a little smaller at 175-180 pounds but still all muscle. Im in shape and could be pretty fast for my age. Maybe the Eagles will give me a call if they run out of options :)

He tore the right ACL in ‘16 and left ACL in ‘20. If you’re gonna be quoted as some sort of ProFootballDoc, it would be best to get your facts straight

Stevens is interesting for sure.  Versatile, which seems to be the biggest singular trait the Eagles valued in this draft.  Mostly a box safety I would say, but he's got decent ball skills and played a bit of free safety as well -- was also a WR in high school.  He's a very late pick at #224, but he's going into a secondary without a lot of talent.

I would have preferred Nasirildeen, who was drafted by the Jets at #186 -- but they are similar players.

He was late because he is an inconsistent player and plays a little slower than his forty suggests.

He dropped almost 20 pounds for his pro day. Most of Stevens career he played at 215 range. Last year LSU asked him to bulk up which slowed him down a bit and his reactions were not as good. Id expect him to stick at the 215 range now and still play in the box. Kinda of like a Harrison type of Safety or Oloukun LB on the Falcons

I have to suspect I'll finally be getting my call to come play this year...guess I really need to start working out.  Hell I might even be able to transition to LB now...I'm up over 180!

😱

I graduated high school at 180.  Haven't been that weight since then.  lol

I don't think there will be theaters in 2041.  Seems they are going the way of the dodo.

I really like the idea of Gainwell and Scott on the field at the same time. Both catch really well and are big smaller players (over 200 but big for their height).  Motion and slot, wheel and screens combine with running plays like Confuse the heck out of the D. Easy t hide behind the OL.  If Boobie can get his hands back, add him to the mix.  Couple that with Smith, Reagor and a mix of Goedert (some other TE) and the back up WRs and the game gets fun.

Im the complete 180 direction of you. Had to eat all day and lift to keep the weight in HS and College. I still eat a ton and still work out like crazy but cant get over that 182 range has been my max. My wife cant stand it that I can down 2 to 3 cheese steaks in one sitting and not gain a pound and if I do its gone the next day. They kept saying it would catch up to me but Im 44 now and hasnt. Not sure if Im lucky or not. Always wanted to be at that 200 range jacked, lol.

That was my grandfather.  Topped out at 6'2", 165.

As for the 'luck'.  The key is to be content in your own skin with who you are, as long as it's a healthy weight, that's all that really matters.   I've gone above my preferred weight, but right now and slowly I am dropping back to where I likely should be... around 210-220.   Back down to 238, so its in sight now.

Eagles are sticking to the 4-3.

However, Schwartz never had a true NT, he had Cox, but I think Gannon will run a more conventional set with a NT and a "3", and drafted one of each.

Williams may play some LDE on run downs, but his future is as a pass rushing "3" like Atkins and Donald. He's not long enough for 3-4 end.

Avery and Johnson give him some size and pass rushing chops at LB, how well they read and react and can cover will determine PT.

Work has all but sapped my will to do much the past few years...I'm the same usually though.  I'm starting a new WO regimen here in a bit (one of the Weida plans) and I'll be back to my normal DeVonta Smith size lol

I was just shy of six feet and expected to be 195-200 as a HS safety on a wishbone team.  I could get to 195 for my initial weigh in but by the end of summer I was barely over 180 and by the end of the season 175.  Oh for those days. Today I weigh enough to be a good sized MIKE.  Desk jobs do that to a body.

If this is the case do you not see Hargrave lasting past this season here?  Nonetheless Cox/Hargrave are not the type of players you throw a 0/1 tech. They're too talented at what they do for that.

Hargrave's best play has been in a 3-4 in the 5 tech. That was my concern by me last year when we signed him. Would he have success in a different scheme and line up?

Colts play a much different style and size of positions then Jim did, not to mention lineup. I think the biggest question is what will Gannon run? Will he run something like the Colts and Vikings or does he love a different style of play we don't know about. We will soon find out.

I still haven't been able to find anything.  Are there in person rookie mini camps in the next few weeks or is that all virtual as well?

Also, it's early but who's one guy you want in the 2022 draft?

Derek Stingley is my #1 guy right now.  A lot depends on how Hurts looks so I'm not going to say any QB yet.

Stingley or Thibodeaux. Just get a premium defender in RD1.

It’s all virtual. On field is permitted in Phase 2 which is the OTAs everyone is boycotting out of. On field won’t happen until Phase 3 which is mandatory OTA’s

IDK about that, I think he was miscast and not allowed to produce like he can in Pitt.  The back half of last year once he was 100% he was quite dominant.

If we are in position for Stingley, we're gonna have a lot bigger needs.
