Every post you make about it makes it evidently clear that you hate Hurts.  Anytime someone posts something positive about him you are one of the first to try to argue about how horrible you think he is.  You hang everything onto this arbitrary 2nd half stat as if this is the time tested matter of fact standard of which to judge QBs on and the determining factor in a QBs career.  You couldn't be any more transparent.

What is arbitrary about scoring points in the second half of football games ??  What is arbitrary about the QB completing 46.9% in the second half of games ??  There is a direct correlation between completing passes, sustaining drives, scoring points and winning games.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

You really should verify these things, you know I am gonna look.

2012 Bucs, 297.4 passing yards per game allowed.

2011 Packers, 299.8 passing yards per game allowed.

Not even worse than the worst the previous season.

And did you maybe consider that since they were #1 in run defense, that teams passed more against them.

That's far too nuanced.

I think Hurts is gonna have good, fun season.

Obi is an elite athlete who can't play football.

This sounds like he’s gonna be spending his summer on the beach

Expect to see players start going back to team facilities.

For those wondering, Milton Williams was at practice

The guy is 6-4 224.  He's bigger than Davion Taylor and they are putting him back at CB where he has shown nothing.  If anything, put him at safety or he's the kind of athlete you try as a hybrid linebacker/safety.

I know it's rookie camp and he's just here on a tryout basis but I really don't know what their plan is at CB.

Why do you continue with this?  Let it go.  Let him believe he's right.

He was a complete bust at Safety

Yeah Hurts beat Tayson Hill meanwhile Nick Foles beat the juggernaut Josh Freeman.  That Tampa Bay Buccs pass defense that season was historically at the time the worst pass defense in the history of the NFL.

Funny how Nick Foles "showed a few flashes" but Jalen Hurts didn't.  Jalen Hurts made some great throws and some great plays.  He absolutely flashed.

False

How many qbs in the entire NFL, in the last decade, have clinched starting jobs had a worse ratio of passing rawness to raw arm talent than Hurts?

I’m all for saying that a 6’ qb with an average arm can end up in the HOF...but they need to be incredibly advanced, sophisticated, and smooth as a passer...the Mac Jones (prospect)/Kurt Warner/ Brees.

Hurts has the unique distinction of being a raw single read passer AND being a short middling arm talent.

Which is why I continue to ask...what the heck does anyone actually expect here?

Find a post that said I hate him.  Find a post that said I am not giving him a chance.  Posting stats which are the facts of things that actually happened are not hating on him, and do not indicate I am not giving him a chance.

He can't. He also, unsurprisingly, completely dodged what I said again, disregarded the numbers, called me a liar and accused me of making numbers up, that were posted and referenced. He's a cuck.

Mac Jones?  Nah... I'm not ready to anoint him yet.  He's got a ways to go first... maybe suit up for a preseason game first.

Not anointing him as anything (although he was one of my favorite prospects)...just using him as an example of someone high on fit and finish as an accurate distribution qb despite middling measurables.

meh.  I still think he was over drafted in Round 1.   But, that happens a lot with QBs, because teams get desperate, they see things in guys that aren't really there.

I think he’s worth it in round 1 for sure.

Regardless, it’s an over correction from Belichick.  He stupidly takes a flier on Cam who is a former mvp, flashy name, but truly a non functional passer...can’t run a standard offense...then goes for the guy who most likely projects as a game manager/ system qb.

How many guys who can't play safety are better at corner, especially at that size?  I love the thought of a freak athlete of that size getting a chance but CB makes no sense for him.

Well, that's why Baskins Robbins has so many different flavors of ice cream.   Personally, I saw 2 first round talent QBs in this draft, and a few that have 'potential', but need a lot of work.  Jones is a guy with a lower ceiling, but more polished.   But, as is often the case with QBs from stacked programs, I'm always left wondering how much of their success was due to the surrounding cast.

In a cover 2 scheme he would be a bust at safety here as well. At least at corner he has backup and can play the shallow zones and release. Should be good on run support as well. Could even see him in lined up against TEs like Bobby Taylor did with Shockey. Doubt he makes the team but outside corner would be the best spot for him right now to take reps. Lets see what kinda talent he has at least against the backups.

I remember Pumphrey running over Melifonwu at the Senior Bowl.

That sucks.  He would be an upgrade here.  I know money is tight but I have no idea what they are thinking with the defensive backfield here.  Bare minimum.

Washington just keeps loading up. Defense is looking legit. Our defense? We're fine there, we don't need no stinkin' defensive players

Maybe they want to get scorched every week to try and get a top 3 pick?
