I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

What time is Nick on?

He's gotta do a quick line first

We are answering different questions.

You are right.  But that doesn't mean everyone else is wrong.

I already conceded that there was truth in what others had said.  I also said that the top 51 is short-sighted.  Because its not about the top 51 at the start of the year, and so the 'net cost' to sign the rookies will be higher than the reported $3.6M.   All the signing bonuses of the other rookies will be counted, including UDFAs in addition to the draft picks that aren't the top 3 that Kempski focused on.   Jack Driscoll was a 4th round pick last year, his signing bonus was $454k.  That counts as $123K... and that will basically be the minimum cost for the draft picks after the top 3.

So, focusing on just the $3.6M for the top 51 misses the mark for me.  There's 2 more roster spots, etc.  So, the rookie cap net impact will end up bigger than the number being tossed about focusing on the top 51 impact.   The salary cap space is exceedingly tight thanks to Howie, and that's what the larger point downundermike was making.  Howie made the mess, and it's not 'fixed' yet, not by a long shot.

No, I was just correcting someone who mistakenly thought the impact on the salary cap to sign the draft class would be $10 million, when the real number is, and remains, $3.6 million.

Well, we will disagree on the 'real' number, because that number is only focusing on the Top 51.  The 'real number' will grow when everything comes into focus.

Which is why I said, "Yes.. and no."   Yes, according to the Top 51, that's the figure.  But, the real number will be counted when the full 53 is determined, plus all the extras I mentioned.   It was a partial story that Kempski was talking about.   There's a second chapter to that book.  Top 51 is only about the offseason.  I focus on the regular season, because that's all that really matters.  And that cost will be higher than $3.6M.

Nick Sirianni says so much without saying nothing at all.  And GD is he Captain Obvious.  It takes him forever to say something completely meaningless or assumed.  The guy really isn't smart.

Right

Kind of like a politician. 45 minutes of nothing.

I just stayed there a few weeks ago at the Hampton Inn for work.  That place can F off.  Nice area though.  I gave those turds some outgoing mail.  They didn't mail it until like 2 weeks later.

I did my college internship at Wild Dunes in Isle of Palms back in 2003.  We were mostly in Mt. Pleasant and downtown Charleston the entire time we were there.  Wild Dunes was great for the beach since it's secluded, so there were no crowds.  Plus the Windjammer is one of my favorite bars on earth.

Well when you’re a midget, you generally have to get full extension to do pretty much anything normal people do.

He's not a midget.  He's a beanpole.

He has talent, so price was probably a tough negotiation.

What is happening in Denver...

Also can I just reiterate how awesome the rookie wage scale is, I do not miss the old days of holdouts and massive guarantees. The Brodrick Bunkley holdout saga still haunts me.

It's phenomenal.  No longer will we have someone like Sam Bradford at #1 overall being the highest paid player on the team before he takes a snap in his giant sleeves.  The NFL has its problems, but it's undeniable they understand how to run a business that utilizes the talent on the field, the coaching staffs, and the front offices.

Oh well.  I hope their agents and financial consultants have advised the mediocre ones to invest and save wisely.

That sucks.  He would be an upgrade here.  I know money is tight but I have no idea what they are thinking with the defensive backfield here.  Bare minimum.
