Madden also said this about DJ Williams, if I recall correctly.

DJ Williams.  What a freaking stud recruit he was.  Definitely didn't come close to the hype.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

If we are talking 0.01% of players, then Shaq at age 14-15 was what? 6"6 240-250 lbs?

A guy like that could play college football. That might be the only age at which he could play because as he grows in height, football becomes unplayable.

I think part of the problem with a 16-17 year old is bone growth.  They might have the height and weight but you definitely aren't ready to take a pounding from NFL players.  I know there are rare athletes out there but it takes a while to actually have a mature body ready for that lifestyle.  I look at a guy like JJAW and I think he still has his baby fat.  He does not have a grown man's NFL body yet.

I don't know that any player is unplayable if they get too tall.  I just think there's no reason to play in the NFL if you can play in the NBA.  I mean there are 4 NFL players with more than a $100 million guaranteed.  There are 26 NBA players.  The top NFL guarantee is Goff at $110 million.  There are 22 NBA players with more guaranteed money.  The top NBA contract has more than $250 million in guarantees.

Some of the best WR's in the NFL are because they couldn't make it to the NBA. Moss and Owens are at the forefront of that list.

Not sure if Tony G would have preferred bball to basketball but he was better than Owens and Moss were so had a better shot there than they.

This is actually a concern for the NFL and potential spread of corona virus.

Tom Brady teaches Bucs center Ryan Jensen the exact way to fold his towel to avoid a sweaty butt

I dont know if Brady's method works. But if so, the NFL needs to adopt it as a rule, or do something else.

Fecal-oral is a way the virus is spread. And a QB has his hands in the center's sweaty taint on every single play. Then QBs touch the ball, they lick their fingers, WRs and RBs touch the ball, etc...

I also think most athletes have a better shot at making it in the NFL then they do in any other sport.

To me If lane And brooks play another 4 years at a high level they’re locks.

I kind of think Brandon graham is going to be a lock when he is done here. He has 51 sacks heading into 2020. If he gets 4 more he is fourth on the eagles all time list behind only Simmons, Cole and white. Add on he might have the biggest defensive play in eagles history.

more curious question is how many will be pro football hall of famers when their careers are over. I think cox and peters are the only locks. I could see kelce, lane and wentz potentially with how the rest of their careers go.

With roster size and ways to take advantage of skill sets, easily.

I thought the NFL adding an extra playoff team was pretty bad, and now i see the NHL is going to have a 24 team playoff structure. That is beyond ridiculous.

The nhl also screwed up their playoff format with how they changed it a couple years back. So i can’t say it’s surprising with Bettman running the show.

The stoppage sucks for the Flyers because they were playing some really good hockey and they had a ton of momentum. Add on  They could’ve potentially caught the capitals for the one seed. Because I don’t think you want to be the two or the three seed having to face the penguins and then have to go likely face the capitals and then likely have to go face the Bruins/lightning. Having the one seed would have been a great advantage for them. I don’t know if they can recapture that but to their credit they have a ton of young guys that are going to come up over the next couple years so they could be really dominant in like a year or two

Only way to off-set lost revenue. I think 20 is the right number, but 24 gets more marketers involved.

I think if you include minor leagues baseball players probably have a greater chance.

NBA is so hard to judge coaches.  I mean Luke Walton win percentage on Warriors was like 94% and in LAL was 30%.  Kerr was like 70+% and then he lost Curry and Klay and is currently sitting at 23%. I think coaching means a lot more in the NFL than the NBA which is player driven.  Much harder go get 11 guys in sync vs 5 (or really 1 the best player)

This can't be true right?  Like this has to be clickbait?

What's odd about it is the NFLPA didn't complain even though more playoff teams means more games.

Best case scenario for the Eagles would be that the Cowboys underperform next season and McCarthy wants to move on from Dak.  There's not an insignificant chance that happens.

I want Dak qbing and Jerry owning the Cowboys for the next 10 years.

I'd jump for joy if Jerry was dumb enough to even give him $35mm a year, let alone what he is asking for.

Dalarse is basically locking in for 2 years -- Elliott and Cooper are un-cutable until 2022, but both would generate cap savings if cut after the 2021 season. Lawrence, Martin and Smith are in the same boat -- massive cap savings in 2022. The smart move is to franchise Dak for 2 years, try to win, and if (when) it doesn't work, blow it all up and start over. Elliott will have been run into the ground, and Martin,Lawrence and Smith will be older and past their primes.

Committing long term to Dak would wreck the whole thing...which is why Jerry likely does it.

Sounds like the story is missing a big piece of information, or intentionally being click bait. Who cares what he wants in the final year of his new deal? It's not like it would be guaranteed anyway.
