Only way to off-set lost revenue. I think 20 is the right number, but 24 gets more marketers involved.

Is it just a this year format? That makes it a little more understandable

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

What's odd about it is the NFLPA didn't complain even though more playoff teams means more games.

They at least receive extra compensation for a playoff game which probably helped it pass easier, although it isn't much.

Best case scenario for the Eagles would be that the Cowboys underperform next season and McCarthy wants to move on from Dak.  There's not an insignificant chance that happens.

See I think the best case scenario is they sign him big and long term. What's half shirt have left in him another year or two?

For anyone who thinks Howie’s drafting is just fine and we "expect him to hit on 100% of his picks.”

yuck, not 1 player.  Andre Dillard won't even be eligible for that list come October.

Didn't realize how young Zeke, Kamara and Minkah Fitzpatrick still are.

Here we go again with people hoping the Cowboys extend Dak.  Dak has owned the Eagles.  He has better weapons around him now too.  Not going to get any easier defending that offense.  The Cowboys aren't nearly as strapped for cash as the Eagles are.  They have their $100 million WR, $60 million RB and soon to be $175 million quarterback, still have a solid O-line and drafted a young promising player with the pick they got from the Eagles.  They drafted a ton of young talent this year.

I will never understand.  Eagles fans on here cheered when the signed Cooper for $100 milion.  He's killed the Eagles (granted Slay has owned him so we will see now).  Zeke is still a top 3 RB in the league and Dak for as average as he is functions ion that offense.

Dak blows hard w/o Elliot.

Last I checked they still have Zeke.  I'm not arguing that it's overpaying for Dak but when they have the team together they are good.  Plus they are getting a fresh mindset and coaching staff now.  I want nothing good to happen for them at all but give credit where it's due.  I really think Jerry has owned Howie this offseason.

Zeke is wearing out. Let them over pay. Either way Dak isn't going anywhere so let them overpay long term.

It reflects that the Eagles have not drafted well recently.

It's extremely unlikely, but Antonio Gates did and Jordan Mailata is

You missed the last game between the two teams apparently

The Eagles are an average drafting team, and a top 5 professional evaluation team. That's why we're good.

I wouldn’t go that far...

Mailata. I see LMGM beat me to it and added Gates.

Sanders was a pretty good pick, no? Dillard will be as well. So it reflects nothing.

Meh.

Dak is a good QB just like Kirk Cousins is a good QB.  Dak didn't own the Eagles when it counted last season and as I recall Cooper just sat that game out.  They have added talent but they lost talent on defense.  Keeping Cooper was good for them but losing Jones was worse.  Again, my hope is that they don't keep Dak.  That the team under performs vs. their expectations next season.  I mean there's not a small chance that they could end up a 7-9 team or worse.

Eagles are still 3-5 vs Dak and Dak is 18-6 against the NFC East.  Those are good numbers for him where it counts.  Would rather see the rest of the East split with each other.
