US just cant finish. Qatar is packed into the box.

Yup.  Creating some nice chances, but utter lack of finish.

Whew!

Why does the US not field their A or B team for this tourney? Resting their best players? Coach wants to see some different players??

Not asking to be sarcastic, I truly dont know.

We finally have top players who play in the best Euro leagues and need some rest before starting their club seasons, which start mid/late August.  And most of them played in the first CONCACAF Nations Cup recently.  What most 'Mericans fail to recognize, since most of our top sports leagues get 3+ months off between seasons, is that Euro footy players play from mid/late August until late May, later if your club is in the Champions League Final.  So they get 2 months at most off before resuming training and pre-season, sometimes less.  Then there's International matches for your country, Euro and leagues/country tourneys (like the CL, Europa League if it's still called that, the FA Cup, etc.).  These guys play an ish load of football in a year.  That's 90 minutes of running on average more than once/week plus training.

We're on an NFL message board and most NFL fans will bash footy players for being soft, but truth is footy players can outlast any NFL player running.  Doubt there's an NFL player who could run for 90 minutes like these guys do.  Apple, oranges.  Honestly, water polo players are probably the best athletes on the planet.  They have to constantly swim while handling a ball while someone is trying to drown you.

Of course football players couldn’t run for 90 minutes. However, football players run into each other going 30 miles an hour.

Thus why I stated apples v oranges.  Though some NFL players couldn't handle the leg tackles that footy players do.  Ask the colour pundit, Stu Holden, who had his leg broken and knee eviscerated by a bad tackle by I think it was Johnny "Of The Reckless Tackle" Evans of Man United.  Quim.

F'ing arrogant coaches, thinking they're going to outsmart the other team with ridiculous lineup changes going into a medal round game.  Serves them right.

And again a match had to be halted due to Mexico fans using an anti-gay chant.  Their federation was already fined for having done it twice previously, seems they haven't learned their lesson.  About time to make them start playing home matches in an empty stadium closed to the fans.  And then if they keep doing the chant at away matches then move their home matches out of their country to a neutral location to be played behind closed doors.

Gold Cup Final about to begin.  It's in Las Vegas and watching the pre-match show they are saying the crowd is overwhelmingly for El Tri.  Their lineup has a majority of players from the first CONCACAF League Of Nations Cup that the US, with their A-team, won in ET.  Now our young B/C team has to go against them with the crowd on their side.  We'll get to see what the young lads are made of in this one.

Our mid-field play.......UGHH. AWFUL.

I gotta keep reminding myself that this US Team is not their best team.

Bello needed to pass that off the right flank as he had a teammate ready to take the pass.
