No.  It’s option 1.  The guy actually had to have played football at some point in time.  Again, I go with Covey or Allen.  With Blakenship coming on down the stretch.

I go Covey out of that list. I think Allen and Blankenship have legit good shots to make the roster.

Agreed. Can't trust Cook's injury history

Minny is a poorly run franchise, honestly.

The interesting thing here is, I think we have a forgotten man. Jackson on PUP.

We may keep, say, Goedert, Calceterra and Stoll. We are going to cut a good one in Togiai (or Stoll, or Calceterra) either way. And then when Jackson is healthy, another good one is most likely getting released.

Or, have we had enough of Jackson's injuries and release him instead?

I think they will take their time on activating Jackson ... probably not until after the Bye.  That will especially be true if Togiai makes it to the PS.

Is Brown the type that would publicly show his displeasure with a lack of targets? He said he didn't care about it in preseason but that's preseason

We'll see, I can't imagine hurts is going to go into a game telling brown he isn't going to target him.

According to reports Hurts targeted Brown a ton in camp, then when Smitty came back from injury he saw quite a few targets.

AJ brown and Smitty both are good enough to demand a bunch of targets a game I'm not sure the question should be who should get the most targets I think it's, can Hurts be efficient enough to get them both a large amount of targets???

I imagine Siri will come out passing against Lions and if hurts struggles how long til Siri goes back to running the ball

If that's the case I think AJ and Smitty will be displeased with decreased targets.

AJ is used to being in a run heavy offense but in that offense he never had another WR the calibre of Smitty.

Both WRs are used to being the guy, neither really seem like divas but we'll see...

Covey will clear. Someone may take a shot on Allen for ST.

Agreed. Allen's ST play and world-class speed mean someone will take a shot on him if we're unwilling to.

I came across this tidbit...

Stick a feather in Howie's cap! Love him or hate him, pissing off agents is a top achievement in his job.

And GMs keep trading with him.

I don't. He's a 28 year old rookie. And may want to keep up with his track career. I can see some teams being turned off by just those two things to poach him.

So right of the bat you went from 80 to 63. (but downundamyballz) said NOOOOOO CANT DO THAT YET. Clown show.

I'm saving WR for last...

TE, Dick Rod and Togaia are out

OL -  Clark Anderson Awosika  out

LB - Davion Taylor

Safety - Tartt

Thats 8...

My thoughts are now this... Covey and Allen get cut, Hightower stays but may get traded.

Hightower has done absolutely nothing. Why would he make it over Allen or Covey?

A fair argument as well. But I think out of Allen, Covey, Cain, and Ward that Allen has the most potential to not make it to the PS.

Also, will teams have a spot for him to dress on game days? Punt coverage is important, but will he put in that work and be willing to put his body on the line to do what it takes? I see him as a gimmick as a WR.

Even GB isn't that well run. They've somewhat lucked into an unreal stretch of top tier QB play....but outside of the Favre/Rodgers era, they were pretty bad for a long time. 70/80s were not kind to them at all.

Even now, with Rodgers, they've kinda blown his career. I think with his talent, they should've been able to pull in at least 1 more Super Bowl. And maybe they still will before he retires.

.5 of a win or a loss?   Let me guess, you’re being intentionally obtuse again.

No, depends on whether they need to win that game or play backups.

Predicting my 53:

QB(2) Hurts, Minshew

RB(3) Sanders, Gainwell, Scott

WR(6) Brown, Smith, Watkins, Pascal, Reagor, Allen

TE(3) Goedert, Stoll, Calcaterra

OL(9) Mailata, Dickerson, Kelce, Seumalo, Johnson, Dillard, Juergens, Opeta, Driscoll

EDGE(7) Graham, Sweat, Reddick, Barnett, K Johnson, P Johnson, Jackson

DT(5) Cox, Hargrave, Davis, Williams, Tuipulotu

LB (5) Edwards, White, Dean, Taylor, Bradley

CB(5) Slay, Bradberry, Maddox, McPhearson, Jobe

S(5) Epps, Harris, Scott, Blankenship, Chachere

ST(3) Elliott, Siposs, Lovato

Two guys I really think earned themselves roster spots during the preseason are Allen and Blankenship. If they can get anyone to trade a bag of jockstraps for Reagor, I think he's gone. That leads to either Cain, Covey, Ward, or another team's cut making the roster at wideout. Safety is still a cause for concern. But I think both are lines are stout, our offensive weapons are very good, and I love the Slay/Bradberry tandem. This season, as we all knew already, rests on the right arm and legs of Jalen Hurts.

Thanks for posting.

I agree broadly. The tough one for me is Allen. He absolutely has no business making the team for his WR performance but the way he performed as a gunner on ST on Saturday makes the spot justifiable. You're more willing to carry someone for their potential if they're contributing on ST. And given his higher profile, you'd think he's more likely to get picked up by another team than some of your other fringe guys.

Keeping Allen does have some opportunity cost of course. The Eagles have done really well to build OL depth and other teams know it. I'd think Anderson and Awosika are at risk of being snapped up by other teams - especially because other teams know the Eagles are deep at OL and would value a Stoutland-trained OL.

Kaplan and Mosher are well connected in the NFL and think Covey makes the team. I haven't seen enough in the games as either a return specialist or a WR to make me think he'll make the 53 but they do have good sources - so we'll see.

Tartt vs Blankenship vs Chachere vs Scott is another area I don't have a good feel for. It looks like Tartt may be cut but as I mentioned, that might just be contract games to avoid a fully guaranteed contract. He could be back shortly.

Well, that is why it is called a projection, so you have to project that and make a decision on that game.
