Clearly we should keep Wilson who is 30 and is a backup player that’s likely a minor league talent

Yep.

I'm really fixated on the starting pitching situation. They've got young guys, they've got old guys, and they've got middle aged guys on expiring deals. But those SP's are the primary assets of this team.

I think the only way to do this right is to lean hard one way or the other. Either go all in now and sell off the young guys for real 2025 playoff run help...or get these young guys up here pitching now instead of 2026-2027 and sell off the older ones for premium minor league position players that can keep this lineup going 2 years from now.

If they do nothing, the rest of the team will decay and our younger pitching prospects will sit around in AAA for too long without bringing value to the big club....or will get kicked around transitioning in and out of the bullpen.

it's the reason why the dodgers have been good for so long because they get younger and they spend on younger pieces. the fo has to change the mindset of spending on older players like in 2011 which resulted in the 10 plus year drought and start to get younger and spend on younger talent. if they dont restool this offseason, it's pretty much the 2011- 22 drought again.

Max Kepler:

.222/.310/.702 6 HRs 20 RBI

Brandon marsh:

.220/.319/.649 2 HRs and 12 RBI

Kody Clemens (24 games with twins):

.273/.351/.957 5 HRs and 12 RBI

Maybe our hitting coach isn’t very good ay his job and marsh/kepler also just stink.

It is not normal to run up a 9 game winning streak and then get swept at home by the Brewers, all within the same month. Their deviation around their net winning % is wild...and that's why they wont last in the playoffs. They will often look like the best team in baseball, but they will sink into a bad team frequently enough that they invariably hit a brick wall of their own creation at some point in the postseason.

I do love the move to put Walker in the pen and Abel in the big league rotation. Walker is a regular season innings eater who pleasantly surprised everyone and righted the ship this year...but he's out of the rotation in October and definitely a low leverage guy at that point, if he's even on the postseason roster. Rock him up and tweak him for one inning now...that gives you a little more upside as a reliever if he can work into it through the summer. Not holding my breath, but he might have more to offer this way.

Mick Abel's road to the majors has been...interesting. But at this moment, he's earned it.

I think the move is to try to trade Nola, Ranger, and Walker for some combination of hitting prospects and MLB bullpen help. Whoever you can't move, let them sort it out in the pen.

Losing your best player and your closer doesn't help....

That's interesting. MLB.com still shows Wheeler going tomorrow night. Not sure if they want to give him extended rest or what.

Wife is having a baby. So he’s definitely not making the trip

Apparently Kemp can’t play the field, at all.

Except now that he’s been off for a week it’ll take him at least 3-4 to get back in the groove

Harper hits a HR in his first at bat. Francis is playing for the wrong team should be in a Phillies uniform giving up all these home runs

What are the odds that Phillies don’t score again for the rest of the game after that first inning explosion?

Nice job on the reverse jinx

Teams should always put in a lefty against us every game. We can’t hit worth a damn against them.

Rreally should keep him around 6th in the lineup. Less pressure to produce and he’s good there. Meaning they’d need someone that can hit 4/5th depending on where you have Castellanos and Stott.

Bases loaded 1 out and not scoring is definitely going to catch up to them
