Abel had adrenaline combined with hitters never seeing him before for the first two starts…he’s been on the struggle bus ever since.

Eh he was fine Monday. Thomson removed him at 77 pitches when he retired 9 of the last 10 he faced. Really two games he struggled are Mets and cubs. Not surprising as 2 of the 4 top teams in the NL.

Wouldn’t be shocked if we don’t hit worth crap the rest of the game. We tend to do that frequently when things go sideways

Kelce’s wife does commercials now too?

Joe Ross another useless BP arm. He’s essentially Walker but cheaper. Literally faced the 4 worse hitters the Mets have. Gives up 2 hits to them right after we get it back to 1.

That was the worst defensive play I’ve ever seen. Where was Casty going? Holy crap. He must’ve lost it in the lights nvm

Tbh he wasn’t making the play anyway but yeah that is why Thomson is correct to remove him in late innings. He's not a good fielder.

That said this game is over. The fact is Abel went 3 innings 73 pitches. Against bottom of Mets lineup should’ve let him get through the 4th. Was no way in hell you were getting 6 innings out of this garbage bullpen and not giving up 3+ runs

Luzardo is going to have to pitch at least 8 innings tomorrow if they want to win this series. Ugh

I’ve been a marsh hater but he has been our best hitter lately and tbh probably the guy you want up right now especially against a RHP

And ofc he probably returning back to what he is.

And now it is actually over. 3-0 count and Turner swings at crap.

Castellanos showing you why he deserves to be removed from late games. A RF with better range makes that play

Nice to see the Mets having HR derby tonight

Marsh is a bad hitter, but he really can heat up in brief stretches. It’s usually at the very beginning of the year.

He’s gonna wind up regressing back and finishing with around a 240ish BA. The issue is their outfield isn’t very good and if you are dealing a top 100 prospect better be getting a proven everyday OF. They got marsh who’s really best at being a platoon LF.

So far this series:

9 homers for the Mets

1 homer for the Phillies

This is the biggest start of the year for Luzardo. Phils need to win this one today.

Probably losing considering we have Sosa, Rojas and Kennedy as our 7-9

Can’t hit lefties so they have to put in weak right handed bats and pray they get some hits. This is why we need a big right handed bat to help us score more than 1-3 runs against a left handed starter. On paper this is a loss, but crazier things have happened

Luzardo 20 pitch 1st inning

Phillies saw 10 pitches in the 1st inning.

Story of the series

If the Phillies don’t score any more runs this inning I think you put Luzardo back out in the 7th. Your bullpen is burnt out

Great bounce back win to grab the series. They needed this one and they got it. Nice job! Luzardo and Sosa were the difference

Getting really tired of Harper not playing to be honest - he better have a monster second half cause he’s mostly been average at best when he’s played so far this year.

Depends on how healthy he is. He’s been injured constantly for a good while now and we might only get this version of him until somehow he becomes 100% again which I don’t see it happening. Would be very nice because he’s outstanding when he’s healthy

MVP type Harper is a memory
