Is Waldron the last of the knuckleball pitchers?

He’s been filthy. Works all sides of the plate and paints his corners. Just nasty stuff

It’s a shame if we don’t win him a title. He’s been absolutely filthy in the playoffs too. Tbh he might be able to pitch 4-5 more years even though he wants to retire after 2027.

It’s not looking likely he’s gonna get that ring but he’s been a lot of fun to watch

We were spoiled with Cliff Lee. 11 more innings pitched and only 1 more hit allowed than Wheels. He was a different breed

Sad that a lot of Phillies fans dislike Lee for how the end was. A lot look back and blame him for one of the losses to the cardinals which he didn’t have his best. But really we might have a second World Series title if we just kept him in 2010 and didn’t trade him in the halladay trade. He was awesome in 2009 as well

Please baseball god let this be true. I’ve said Suarez is the fit he hits for power can move Harper back to OF and Bohm to 1b

Rotation would have been Halladay, Lee, then Hamels. Wonder if Rube would have still traded for Oswalt if that was the case. Maybe he trades for a bench bat instead. Still sad that that core only won 1 championship.

Tbh I still think he makes that Oswalt trade for the reason that Cliff Lee could’ve walked away after 2010 as a free agent. That was part of the reason why they made the deal for halladay. So he would’ve wanted to have Oswalt for the rest of the year and also as a back up in case Lee left.

I remember thinking after Lee dominated on the road in game 1 that we were gonna stomp the Yankees <_<

I hate my friend for this for the rest of his life, but before the series he was like the matsui sucks and making fun of him the. had the series of his life with 3 HRs and 8 rbi

The Phillies have done a ridiculous job of scouting and developing pitchers over the past 10-15 years or so - both drafting and in trades/free agent signings.

Nola

Wheeler

Suarez

Sanchez

Luzardo

Abel

Painter

Eflin

Pivetta

Falter

All are solid starters in the league right now. (Painter is about to be)

Pivetta looking for revenge tonight! He's actually been having a very good year. But it was definitely time to move on when the Phils moved him so can't bash that move in hindsight.

Bullpen has really been the bigger issue when pitching with the Phillies. I’d also argue development of young hitters. Stott, marsh and even Bohm haven’t been what they expected

Just saying marlins have won 8 straight and 9 of their last 10
