If we’re looking to add a TE who can block, we spent a lot of time on LSU’s Bauer Sharp.

That’s a great point. And it’s yet more reason that I don’t like Lemon. Those elite slot types that comp to Lemon….going back to Welker —> Edelman —> JSN/ Aman-ra St. Brown….they are all that sturdy, more quick than fast, VERY high utilization mold.

Theres a fine line between their elite productivity and a similarly unexplosive wr catching 50 balls per season for an underwhelming 550 yards in a spread the ball offense with a mediocre passing qb.

My counter point would be that our OC played with Cooper Kupp, comes from the McVay system, and is being given liscense to make the team how he sees fit both schematically and personnel wise. On top of that, he’s going to be doing the play calling.

I think Lemon is going to be good. Maybe not 160 targets with 1700 receiving yards like Nacua good, but I don’t see him getting 50 catches for 600 yards as his baseline expectation.

I just don’t think Hurts is going to be able to run this offense efficiently. We are going to need a new QB to make this thing work in my view.

Again, I hope I’m wrong, but that’s the way I see it. 2026 is probably going to be ugly with a new scheme, new personnel, and awkward QB fit. Things should improve from there though.

There’s the other TE from NC State, Cody Hardy(?) who’s a blocking specialist as well.

Score a lot of points.

Bad value at #68, would feel better if Stout was still here to coach him up.

Did the Eagles really go BPA this draft or were they drafting to fill holes.

I think in an ideal world they would have taken Bell in the 4th or with pick 98. I think the pick was probably about positional value as much as need versus BPA. That being said, I think they were drafting for physical upside. Part of their evaluation may have been that the OTs in the new scheme are going to be on less of an island in pass protection. So his lateral agility isn't as important. I do hope they figure out o-line development.

Makai Lemon was definitely a player they wanted and was the consensus top player on the board when they drafted him.

Stowers was the consensus number 2 TE. He was ranked by most boards as a second round pick. Daniel Jeremiah had him at 66. PFF had him at 53. Fran had him around 100 but really seemed focused on the blocking issue/size. He's probably the athlete at the position with the highest upside. I do not think they take a TE in round 2 if they didn't have a need. I can see where he may have been the BPA on their board.

He transitioned? Reminds me of @hputenis

Watched the Greenard presser. Very likable dude, seems to prioritize the right things

Well, he’s a hybrid. Not a traditional inline TE, but a H-back, flex TE type. Expect him to be lined up off the LOS a lot, used in motion a lot, used in bunch formations a lot, etc.

We are going all in on a high passing volume finesse offense. He fits that mold. I think next season when Goedert is gone we will look to bring in a TE2 who is a bigger, more well rounded inline TE.

But our days of having a big, rugged TE on the field all at nearly all times is over.

Expect more bubble screens too with Lemon in the slot and Stowers flexed out. Better a 239 pound blocker than a 170 pounder.

Carsen Ryan is the guy. he also is athletic to catch passes.

I saw a social media post showing video of Primanti's, saying the newly drafted players should celebrate by getting a sandwich at the iconic place. Thankfully, the comments were loaded with people bashing it as overrated (it is) and trashing other Pittsburgh food. The Pitt fans were getting rage baited. They're having a tough week over there. 🤣

Based on the Primanti’s in York, I have to agree with your assessment. If I was going with one of the farther west restaurants imported into York, I would go with Quaker Steak and Lube. We have both Wawa and Sheetz here (plus Rutter’s, Turkey Hill and Royal Farms). All gas station fast food. (Of course, the traditional fare in the South Central is Pennsylvania Dutch with large Amish and Mennonite influences so nobody in their right mind would import that.)

WTF happened in here last night? I got tagged more than @mikemack8 on a double-sided deeldoe themed party in Key West.

yeah but its been proven inaccurate by the draft board remaining going in to round 4. Guy is talking out his ass.

I don't think it's true from an NIL money standpoint. The NIL contracts I have seen for starting type players in major conferences were below the $500k mark. Dorian Strong was pick 205 last year. He got a $285k signing bonus and salary of just over a million dollars in one season. I would guess the bonus itself was better than his NIL deal with Virginia Tech. He also has the opportunity loss if of a 7 figure salary if he makes the team. I think that is just some boomer spewing garbage because they don't like to see college players get paid.

Kelce played under two of the greatest OL coaches of all time. We shouldn’t forget it was Howard Mudd who identified Kelce and developed him from a 6th round pick into a starting center. Stoutland took over after the hard work was done.

I think that we overlook the impact some of the players had on other players and some legacy Castillo. The punch was a Castillo specialty. Peters taught Lane his quick kick technique and we have seen other players at T adopt that. Kelce’s line calls.

saw a short last night that credits some blocking TE in Seattle for the early selections of the blocking TEs. Which probably makes more sense since they were super bowl champs so teams will be trying to copy.

However, even the best well rounded guys like Klare, Delp, and Raridon are off the board before round 4 also.

That leaves you with Raridon as a top candidate and that is it. There is also Joly but hes more of the Stowes type that we didnt really expect.

Joly?

The only needs the Eagles currently have for the 2026 season are Safety and depth at Guard. I would imagine they will address both positions with veterans whether it be FA signings or a trade at some point. I would be willing to guess there are a few decent backup guards still available to be signed.

With Goedert, Stowers, Mundt, Calcaterra, and Smart that room is getting really crowded for 2026. Because Stowers is such a specialized player I would imagine they will add another young TE in the 2027 draft who is more well rounded to pair with him.

Bowry gone. Never thought he'd last though.

Finally. McCoy's knee must be actual dust for to have lasted this long

I think Lemon isn't Avant or Ward in the slot. He has great YAC ability. I don't think 50 catches will be at the rate of 11 yards a reception. I do think you are exactly right on usage. Lemon is a waste of a pick if he is getting under 100 targets. If he's the number 2 in targets, he should be above 100. AJ had 121 and Devonte had 113 last season. I think it's an open question as to whether Hurts will effectively a slot WR more than 100 times.

There is no chance in hell this "International Fan of the Year” is a Jets fan. NFL should make it less obvious when they use plants

Think the Eagles can use 2 safeties at this point to throw into the fray. A free agent experienced starter type (1 year deal) and a developmental one for long term. We are definitely not done there. Like to see Epps as your 3rd safety.

So you guys are going to hang out here and lament the players we can't pick in the fourth round?

Loved Proctor.
