Yes. We need a safety more than a WR, but Boutte has 1 year left on contract and Woodson has 3 years of cheap labor left. Pats would be more willing to give up Boutte. Don't think Woodson is on the table based on their current outlook. I think we take Boutte and flip him with a draft pick somehere for a solid vet safety.

I don't think they have a handshake deal in place. A lot of people are assuming that.

I think it's more like Howie knowing what they're willing to give up already and whether or not that is enough to satisfy him.

I have confidence in Cooper based on his preseason and limited regular season time. Probably more so than most. A willing blocker and tough catch guy. I didn't think they needed Wicks as Cooper could fill that same role. He has three more years of a cheap UDFA contract. They gave up two draft picks for Wicks and an extension based on Mannion wanting him. They had to throw Mannion a bone. Cooper makes the team unless he totally bombs in preseason.
